I was talking to some of the nurses who work in the clinic where DS2 does PT/OT, and they said anecdotally people seem to have fewer side effects with the second shot when they’re well hydrated. They’ve been recommending everyone drink a sports drink on their way to the clinic before their shot. Thank you for this! I go on Friday for my 2nd Moderna and was preparing for an uncomfortable weekend.

I just love being the problem child. I had a liter of water before my second shot, plus 1.5 liters over the rest of the day, and it still took me out pretty good. But hydration never hurts!!

Got second shot late yesterday afternoon. Except for a very sore arm, I feel fine. Better experience this time than the first shot.
I did get very tired afterwards yesterday and went to sleep shortly after having dinner.

I'd like to retract my above statement. Ass. I feel like ass. Entire body aches.

So very short lived misery. Agreed, my side effects lasted 24 hours, with the worst of it lasting only the first 12 hours of that. Just exhaustion for the last 12. I hope you’re feeling better really soon!

I had my second dose yesterday! I felt so joyful after, like seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. My arm was less sore than last time. I was feeling very tired all day but that's pretty much my baseline lately so who knows.

Not gonna lie, I am nervous about the second dose today. I am hydrating extra *just in case* that makes a difference (even if it means I pee 85 times because baby is dancing on my bladder today). It's the fever that worries me, but also the waking up at night in a cold sweat with body aches. Ugh.
I am trying not to psych myself up, but so many of my coworkers had to call out sick after their shots. I am already on anti-nausea meds, and I will take Tylenol before bed (which I do many nights anyway due to headache).

thatgolfb I hope you're feeling okay and that any symptoms stay mild for you. I can imagine that being pregnant makes it more worrisome. I get my 2nd dose on Wed, and I'm a little nervous, but all of my colleagues have done pretty well with dose 2 so far, so I'm hopeful.

2nd Pfeizer done about two hours ago and I’m so tired and have a headache already. My parents said they had fatigue and headaches too so hopefully it’s mild and is over with by Monday.

Also, does anyone think the covid vaccine will be like the flu and a new one will come out each year?

I had Pfizer. My first one I had a super sore arm the second night. I got my second dose today and my arm is already so sore. Fingers crossed if I get side effects they’ll be over quickly because I have to work Friday.

I got my second Pfizer dose this afternoon and I'm not feeling great. My limbs feel very heavy and my neck is sore. I did ride the Peloton after I got the shot this afternoon (lower impact, but still) so hoping I just need a good night of sleep and this is the worst of it.

My H got his second dose of Moderna yesterday morning and overnight he had chills that literally shook the bed. He’s in rough shape this morning with full body aches. He is taking the day off and I will pamper him/make fun of his man baby reaction* and he’ll be ok.
*he is a self admitted man baby about being sick but in this case it seems legit.

I didn't have to put off my second moderna shot after all. I got it a little after lunch and by the evening I was dragging, then got dizzy again before bed. I haven't had a fever, but today I'm just kind of damp. And achy everywhere. But it doesn't feel bad enough to call out, so I've got that going for me.

By the time I left the house I could barely move so I dropped the boys at daycare and came home. I don’t have a fever but have chills and aches like the flu.

My coworker works a second job at CVS and she was offered the vaccine today by her manager. She told her they had a bunch that would be wasted away because of short shelf life or whatever the guidelines are regarding that, and so the employees were offered them. My co-worker told me she had to decide by the end of the day, but that she was skeptical about it (not anti vaxx). I told her that I know many people (mostly from here, really) who have gotten theirs with minor side effects like soreness, etc. She then decided to call her manager back and schedule it for tomorrow, so yay! 😀

I am back to normal today, aside from continued pain and swelling at the injection site and two swollen, painful lymph nodes (armpit and near clavicle on injection side, so I'm in pain anytime I move my left arm/shoulder). I feel like someone else in here has the lymph node issue too, but it seems to be a less common side effect.

My mom's second dose was pretty brutal. It is really red, her whole shoulder is swollen, and her injection site is very hot. Her blood sugar keeps shooting sky high and then dropping down into the 40s, she has an awful cough, 101.2 fever, and is severely nauseous.
I'm not looking forward to my second dose.

On the flip side, DH didn't feel bad other than a sore arm and very mild aches after either shot, and even less so after the second than first.

I got my first dose, pfizer, yesterday. I had a weird headache at the back of my head that didn't last long, but one of my co-workers said the same thing so I think it's related to the vaccine. Other than that my arm is sore, but it's not bad. There is some swelling which is similar to the TDAP for me. Maybe mild fatigue, but that's hard to say because I'm often tired.

It started about 24 hours after I got the shot but only stayed for a day or two. When I googled it came up right away but most things I read said it was a less than 20% side effect so I felt special. Lol.

I got my second dose of Pfizer yesterday. With the first dose I only had a sore arm, not even as bad as the flu shot. Not so lucky this time around - body aches, joint pain, headache, fatigue, and I feel a little feverish but my temperature is normal. With Tylenol everything has gone down to a dull background pain.

I got dose 2 and of the Moderna vaccine yesterday. I was ok most of the day but late night and trying to sleep was horrible. I didn’t get a fever but the body aches were severe and I had chills. I also had these odd brain zaps but during that time my blood sugar dropped to 37 so it could be related to that. Today I’ve had soreness but not to the level of overnight. I’m hoping it continues to subside. Interesting about your mom ironcorgi. I’ve been having a hard time the past couple of months with lows so I wouldn’t have thought there was a relation to the vaccine but there could be.
