ooof that gif...
Oat milk latte and toaster waffle with cream cheese. I passed out on the couch last night after watching the first few episodes of Schitt's Creek because I am late to the bandwagon. I like it so far! My other new TV show is The Flight Attendant on HBO, soooooo good! Darkly funny and Kaley Cuoco and Rosie Perez are really fantastic in it.

I had decaf with mint creamer - I bought a bunch of creamer, but I'm not into the mint lately, so I need to use it so it doesn't go to waste!
No breakfast yet. Little kids are here. I cleaned the playroom and art table, you know... so they can destroy them again.
I need to make some make-ahead breakfast options.

The kids are playing outside in the snow. I’m polishing off a second cup of coffee.
I regret not meal-planning for today because I’d love to cook something good for dinner tonight.

I just finished my 3rd cup of black coffee. I got a new travel mug for Christmas and I like it but it doesn't keep my coffee as hot.

Black coffee and some toast this morning. We were supposed to pick up our car this morning, but USAA is apparently taking their sweet a$$ time accepting our money transfer (even though Capital One bank already shows it moved). So unless it goes through in the next hour, we are going to have to wait at least a day, if not longer. Ugh. I'm super annoyed but also feel bad that we are disrupting the dealer's typical process. Hindsight, we should have moved the money a week in advance, but we didn't know exactly what car we wanted until the day before really, so we held off on transferring anything. Sorry for that brain dump this morning.

Grocery store brand half caff with cream and sugar. My next cup will be finishing off our Buddy the Elf Peppermint Mocha creamer.
It's a regular homeschool week with some extra fun because we're studying polar bears. L has been waiting for this day bc she gets to make a polar bear den with marshmallows and gummy bears. I will have the polar bear cam from the San Diego Zoo on most of the day while silently crying inside that we're not there in person.

I got some Starbucks coffee from the store this weekend bc is was on sale and half the price of my favorite coffee. I am not liking it at all, but I’ll have to endure, bc I’m not wasting two bags of coffee. Nothing too exciting this week. I am getting my second Covid vaccine dose Wednesday, but I just read guidance that we should consider scheduling it before days off, bc the second shot can cause more symptoms than the first. Fingers crossed it’s fine.

At the office today. It’s so quiet. Mh made a full pot of coffee this morning so I brought coffee from home. But my travel mug didn’t keep it quite warm enough. Trying to decide if I have time to chug this and make a fresh cup for my 10:00 meeting or sip it cold during my meeting. Decisions decisions.

Or reheat in a regular mug and transfer back to the thermos?

Quick cup of coffee. All 3 girls are back in school today for the first time in a month. It feels soooo good. Ran to the grocery store now watching Congress until I have to pick up E and A.
Our kitchen backsplash is finally going in this week and we're getting an estimate tomorrow morning for a screened porch/deck. Really hoping to have that done by springtime so we can fully enjoy it all summer.

Had a cup of hospital coffee with cream and sugar. Leaves much to be desired.
Keeping busy with work and chugging water are the plan for today. And of course watch the National Championship this evening.

I had a cup of chai this morning when I got up and have had water since then. I’m going to brew some coffee in a few so I can put it in a travel mug when we head out for a walk.
We’re learning about Great Britain this week and have been building snow castles all morning. Lots of virtual appointments this week and I’m dreading all of it.

I ended up chugging the lukewarm coffee and making a fresh cup. Aaaaaand then my meeting lasted all of 15 minutes, and my coffee was too hot to even sip during the meeting lol. Iced coffee is a good idea rugger. But 1) no ice and 2) my office is 65 degrees. Brrrrrrr!

I've fully switched to decaf coffee and I'm loving it. The caffeinated coffee that I was drinking that didn't give me heartburn just wasn't very good. But realizing that decaf coffee doesn't give me heartburn has opened up a whole world of yummy coffees. And now I'm finally over the migraine stage of withdrawal. It also means that DH and I each have our own burr grinder and our own french press, which seems obsessive, but I'll take it.
I also just too melatonin for the first time last night. Apparently it's supposed to be good for LPR (my flavor of reflux) and I've been reading a lot of really good reviews. I don't have trouble sleeping, for the most part, but I'm hoping that the melatonin can help give me better sleep. I would be beyond excited if this could work for the LPR because PPIs were horrendous.

Outlook issues.
I am on my 3rd restart of the day.
I may make a second pot of coffee in the afternoon if this keeps up.

I drank a lot of coffee earlier, hot and black. Last night in the dark I caught a person standing in the dark at the edge of the gamelands across the street from my house, staring at my house - no flashlight, no reflective clothing, nothing. Scared the absolute shit out of me (mh was gone on call all weekend) and I immediately called the state police and my neighbor who is very helpful in these types of situations. Long story short, nothing ever happened but I was on edge all night and was positively panicky every time I had to take one of the dogs outside to pee. MH walked over to where the person was when he got home this morning and found a discarded soda can laying there. The person was wearing skinny jeans and boots and a fitted coat, def not a hunter or someone exercising. Also it was 26 degrees outside, not really nighttime walk weather - at least not in that outfit. I couldnt' tell if it was male or female. I'm still a bit shook, they seemed to be looking right in my french doors - where you could clearly see M sitting there eating her dinner. The rest of the windows had closed blinds. Naturally this would happen on the very last weekend of call for MH, ever, new job doesn't have full weekend call! I am so ready to move. I was not built for country life, which I now know. If this was my new neighborhood this person would have been apprehended and a full write-up would have been published on all 3 HOA forums for everyone to read about, and I would have caught it all on my security system. LOL.

One day shy of a month since we last saw Little Cat, we got a call from the SF SPCA today. She had been mooching off some neighbors, living in their garage, going between their house and their next-door neighbors. MH went to go pick her up. She's ravenously hungry and her meow is as obnoxious as ever, but I'm so happy to have her home again. I gave up hope pretty early on because of the coyotes around here, but thought perhaps she just moved in with someone else, since she's a super friendly cat. MH had handed out flyers and talked with a lot of the neighbors in the first week, and some neighbors had even seen her around, but she ended up circling back and hanging out with neighbors the other way, just past where we had been looking. Silly cat.
Oh, I also drank coffee today. Then realized I had been drinking the decaf I got because I want to drink hot things in the evenings. Oops. That was followed by several cups of real coffee.

Oh wtf milano. Did your neighbor try to approach the person or did the police ever come? I am sure I would have been up all night long. So creepy. Also, yay for now more full weekends on call for YH!

The person walked by my house about 6-7 minutes after I noticed them out there, while I was on the phone with the police actually. But since we don't have a police dept I had to call the Troopers and no one was anywhere nearby so I assume by the time someone got here the person was long gone. I never heard back from them so that's just speculation. I noticed their silhouette when I was out front and so I dragged the dog back into the house and as I was back on my porch 2 cars drove by in opposite directions and the one set of headlights illuminated the person scrambling back into the brush- maybe just to get out of the way of the cars, but it was 6 or 7 minutes after that when I saw them walking past my house on the other side of the road. So what was he doing in between?

And also when I was on the phone with the police I kept losing service, thankfully I didn't actually drop the call. Then when I called MH the call dropped like 4 times. I was basically screaming.

milano, that reminds me of the time that I was the creepy person that scared someone (obviously without meaning to be). I used to walk everywhere in all weather for exercise. My street doesn't have sidewalks so it's not great for walking, but it's fine. So I always tried to walk somewhere else, but if the end of the day came and I hadn't met my step goal, I would go out onto my street. One summer night it was late and pouring rain, so I put on my rain coat and new rain pants to went outside. I got about two doors down when I realized that my rain pants weren't adequately around my boots and letting in water. So I bent over to try to adjust my pants. My pants were being annoying so I was struggling with them for a while. I didn't realize that I was right next to my neighbor's mailbox and electrical something (I'm not actually sure what it is - some kind of electrical box). But after a few minutes my very scared neighbor came out with an umbrella and a quivering bravado in his voice. Him: Can I help you?! Me: What? Him: What are you doing???!! Me: Adjusting my pants Him: What? Me: I'm your neighbor from [address] and taking a walk in the rain. My rain pants were letting in the water, so I was adjusting them. Him: Your? What? Oh. Hi. Have a good walk! Me: Thank you! Good night! I think about that exchange a lot. Hopefully that is all that was happening across the way from you.
