trtlcrzy, I know my work talked about giving a couple of Covid pto days so people didn't have to use their own pto after the second shot since those side effects are common. I hope you feel better soon and get to relax today? That’s nice that they’re doing that. DH is home so I’ve spent the majority of today in bed resting. I’m hoping tomorrow the symptoms will be gone or minimal.

I made a few loaves (sort of) of bread for my school community service assignment. In 10 days there will be double this made.

inthekitty I love jigsaw puzzles. I did several over the summer, but now with school Cadence is using her desk again so I don't have a big enough space for them. *stuck in box* Denny Boy loves to attack my puzzle in the typical cat way. Slowly saunter up, act like he just wants some love, then casually start batting pieces around before suddenly going crazy and attacking them. So I've never been able to leave them anywhere they'll be exposed. I just have a giant piece of cardboard I do them on with a piece that folds over and covers it when I'm not working on it. That way I can work on it from the couch, recliner, floor, etc.

Our county just switched to distance learning for tomorrow. And Daycare closer because the schools are closed.
Yay. {sarcasm}
Hope we actually get snow so the kids can play. MH told the boys we would and M2 has been practicing his snow angel all day.

I went to the walk in clinic/urgent care that is closest (an hour away) convinced I had a UTI. Turns out I don’t and it’s likely kidney stones. Yippee 😬. I think a UTI would have been better, because at least I could take antibiotics for it.

I worked all morning after A made us breakfast. I was supposed to have a driver come interview at 1 pm so the kids went to my mom's, A ran errands and my dad and I waited at my house. An hour later he still wasn't here. So I went to see my brother and sil new chocolate lab puppy. Omg. I wish we had gotten one. I talked A into it, then chickened out. Which is probably for the best with my surgeries and potty training during winter would suck. But he's so damn cute. Mj fell asleep at my moms so I had 3 glorious hours, childless and all my work was done. It was lovely. I ran and got take out, gave all 3 kids a bath and now we're watching a movie until bed time.

lfig I know, obviously, that different areas of the country are differently populated. But having lived my whole life in major metropolitan areas in the northeast, I am Always taken aback at how different things are for you. We literally have at least a dozen urgent cares within 15 minutes. And a few other just pediatric ones on top of that. I forget how lucky we are.

We literally have at least a dozen urgent cares within 15 minutes. And a few other just pediatric ones on top of that. I forget how lucky we are. I love the “community” spirit of living a rural life. But HATE the driving to do literally. anything. Especially dr visits. I was trying to decide weather to wait and see my dr tomorrow, which is 45 minutes away, vs driving an hour to the urgent care. But I was really hoping for a dose of abx so I could feel better sooner. I also hate that I can only get the *good* ice cream at a store an hour away. The closer stores just don’t measure up in their ice cream stock. So I have to take a cooler and come straight home. #priorities ETA: and by “community” spirit...I mean, knowing someone almost everywhere you go. Have a flat tire? Don’t worry, John just pulled in, he can help change the tire or give me a ride. Forgot your debit card at the local gas station? Don’t worry, fill it up and you can come back by later, or tomorrow to pay. Etc.

There’s already a layer of snow outside. Originally we weren’t supposed to get any u til early morning, through the morning. I hope it sticks around in the AM because the kids are going to be pissed if it all melts before they can go outside.

Just catching up. I'm sorry about your friend's daughter lfig. I hope she recovers quickly. That is so scary. You too with the kidney stones:( trtlcrzy love the couch! klong11 man the world is backwards if you are getting that much snow! Did it melt already? I took the weekend off of news so i stayed off here as well because I am weak and would go right to politics. I don't think I touched my phone except to actually make a call once. It was kind of nice. I read two whole books!

Re small town live; I’m in a city of 160.00. For Dutch standards it relatively big, but it’s not a metropol by any means. For the most part it’s anonymous city life, but there are lots of ‘small town anecdotes’ (Dh and I were delivered by the same midwife, SIL and where in the same ballet class when we where 4 etc.). For me this is the perfect middle ground.

Oh no, lfig! Do you just have to wait for the stones to pass? I think so. 🤷♀️. She said there really isn’t anything to do for it unless the pain gets to be unbearable. And so far is manageable. They also gave me a hat to pee in and a strainer to try and “catch” the stone/s. 😂 Isn’t kim22 our resident kidney stone expert? Any tips?

lfig I’m so sorry about your friend’s 4yo, hope they got trough the night okay. And kidney stones... ouch!!! Thanks. He’s doing okay but they have also found that in addition to COVID he has bacterial meningitis. So they have quite the road ahead of them and they will be there at the hospital quite a while.
