I continue to be impressed with the writers of the show and the weaving of multiple story and timelines. They don’t always get it 100% right but when they do, they knock it out of the park.
I was really moved by the unrelated timeline of the guy whose work led to us being connected via video messaging. It hit me hard what that technology has enabled us to do in these times. And to think about the guy who sacrificed family time and lived long enough to see the results of his labor- I got chills. That’s a story within itself and This is Us told it in just a few scenes. Loved it!
Also felt very emotional watching the birth mother scene. We left the room so that DD’s birth parents could say goodbye and i can’t imagine the grief they were experiencing and maybe still do.

I knew those weren’t Miguel’s parents because it wasn’t really plausible that he would be born as late as 1963. Lol.

I loved tonight's episode. I am very firmly in the have no more babies camp, but seeing them all bringing home their newborns made me so nostalgic for that new beginning and makes me a little sad I'll never have that again.
I also love the new snippet of the future. I really don't have any guesses about who is in the white car that pulled up, maybe Kate? I think she's the only one missing so far.

I think my favorite part of the episode was the reveal about who the random people were. I had tears with that part and how they video chatted their story

Can I ask though why its Kate's and Kevin's kids being referred to as the new big 3 when Randall has kids already? And Kate's oldest? It's just the birthdays I guess? Won't that make the others feel left out though?

I knew right away that was an older Deja. The actress did amazing replicating the younger ones mannerisms. White car - have we seen Madison and Franny yet?

I fell asleep in the last 10 minutes. Looks like I’m going to have to go back and watch.

Ok, I finished. I guess I missed more than I thought because I also didn’t see Tobys news. I’m really liking how they are add covid into the show. I was super anti any show doing this, I wanted/needed to not see it on “my shows”. It will be a reminder in years with what happened/how life was but not so in your face.

I physically clenched when Randall was suggesting another baby while riding home with his brand new baby. Yes I get he was feeling things with having someone look like him for the first time in his life. But it reminded me of all the pain I was in for quite a while after either of my kids and I don't care how sweet the reason is, just no.

I really really really hope Madison and Kevin are still together. I love them. Agree they did a great job casting the older Deja- looks and sounds like her! I love the show but watching a series on prime time tv stinks. It ends up being so short, there's not enough time for anything to even happen in the episodes.

This episode made me feel a lot of things since I just did the whole "bring more than one baby home" thing recently. That feeling of dread for having to leave the hospital -- I still think about how much I loved my PP nurses.
Anyway. I'm sad for the adoption thing but I don't fault the birth mom at all for her decision. Not to mention having all those feelings immediately after giving birth seems pretty normal, so I wouldn't be surprised if she comes back later. Not that she should or has to, but perhaps.
I think the main people we haven't seen in the future are Kate, Madison and Miguel right? We've seen both twins when they came in to Rebecca's bedroom. I guess we didn't see Jack or Hailey in that particular sequence yet though we know that they are around from the baby Jack-centric episode.

I’m laughing because for some reason I remembered little Jack’s sister as being Indian/Middle Eastern in the flash forward. So this whole time I’ve been telling my husband that baby is not her! The birth mom must change her mind. I just googled and I’m totally wrong. The actress is Australian and plays a character Hailey. Why did I think that??
I cried for the birth mother and I’m glad they showed that. In real life they would have had lots of training about this being a possibility and one would hope Kate would handle it a lot more empathetically.

As someone currently pregnant and sick AF, I cannot imagine the rage I would have if my husband brought that up immediately after birthing a baby. WTF!

Yes, in the episode where we learned about Madison expecting twins in the present time, they flashed forward to the bedside and Franny joined Nicky in the room.

I finally caught up on the last two episodes. The one with the births was one of my favorite episodes of all time and really got to me. I loved that Kevin named their son after Uncle Nicky and that they included a quick phone call to share the news and his quiet, but pleased reaction. I'm not huge on Frances or Franny (especially when there's Annie) but if Madison was really attached to the name because of a bond with her grandma, then I love it for her. They can always call her "Baby." I, too, couldn't stop seeing Toby's parking lot buddy as Gary Clark aka the shooter from Grey's. But I cried when he gave Toby the pig. Over a pig! I liked the inclusion of Nasir and Esther and learning the backstory there. And the irony of him not being there (i.e. home for dinner) meant that someday, folks could be "there" in some fashion, especially during a pandemic. Finally, I loved that the brothers made up. And Miguel telling Rebecca that no, she's not too much, but just enough. I really, really want the Miguel/Rebecca backstory. Which is a thing I didn't thing I would need back in S1. As for this week's episode, the show continues to amaze with their casting as future Deja not only looked so much like current Deja, she sounded like her. I thought they couldn't outdo teen Beth or older Tess, but they did. Um, Randall, I love you, but STFU about Beth having another one when Annie is all of 2 days old. Ghost Jack with the twins. That...got to me. So Madison regained ground with me with her handling the paparazzi but the proposal...ehhh, I just don't know. I think Kevin loves her as the mother of his children and is in love with the idea of being a husband and a father and having a family (and the same for Madison) but that is as far as it goes. Is it enough? Fun fact - Miguel's portrayer (Jon Huertas) directed the episode. Also, this is a cool compilation of all the 2030 scenes except for the most recent episode.

And watching that video I just posted, I caught a detail I hadn't before. Uncle Nicky is wearing a wedding ring. Spoiler tagging the pic because it's so huge. Does he get married? Does he pretend to be Jack to give comfort to an ailing Rebecca?

Whoever made that is genius 😂 they really need to add last weeks!
I remember the wedding ring when it played the first time. Same questions, is he married? Is he playing a role for rebecca?
And so...we don't see Madison or Kate, but Toby said that "jack said they're on their way " so I'm assuming Kate and Jack and him and Kate are split.
Anyone else missing?

Miguel isn’t there. I’m thinking both he and Kate are dead in 2030.
That shot of Toby in bed and the long pause to show the very empty space next to him. Although I suppose they could be divorced instead.

I believe Kate and Miguel are the only ones we haven’t seen. Well and Jack but he has been referenced. I’m assuming Kate is with Jack. I think it’s too obvious for her to be dead but they want us to think she is.

Kate, Jack, and new baby girl haven't been shown yet. I assume they are divorced.
Madison hasn't been shown, but they zoomed in on Kevin's ring, so I assume they are still married.
I wonder if Nicky and Rebecca get married after Miguel dies.....

Is it possible they have future Kate lose weight and that's why she hasn't been shown? I feel like that's not really been much of a storyline lately though so maybe not. I just thought I remembered someone saying it was in her contract to potentially lose weight for the role? Or did I make that up

I dont think I would like Rebecca and Nicky getting married
If it was a thing to let her think he was Jack or something maybe. But she already married his best friend Miguel and then also his brother? That would be too much for me
