The show's been on a break for so long it fell off the page.
It was back last night. Did anyone watch?
We got confirmation of what we already knew - Kate had an abortion. I appreciated that while Toby was curious (because of their IF struggles) why Kate never brought it up in their four years together, he didn't seem in the least bit judgmental or upset or anything about her decision (and he damn well better not have been!).
I was with Kate with Googling Marc - who hasn't done that? But to travel to San Diego during a PANDEMIC to track him down to confront him at his job? No, ma'am.
And there is no way this 40-something who hasn't grown as a human being in the 20-some years (unless you count his facial hair) since he last saw Kate would have stood there more than five seconds listening to her.
I think she thinks she got her power back or something, but I feel like she accomplished the opposite. She could have written a letter and burned it. Or, fine, gone to San Diego, noticed him leaning against the side of the store he worked at and realized how far she has come since him and he...is still the same slack-jawed loser he always was and left without confronting him.

Elsewhere, I loved that Randall called his therapist regarding Laurel being alive until 2015, the baby steps he took with Kevin towards a hopeful reconciliation, and yes, when he cried tears of relief to know William didn't know Laurel had survived.
Madison gets points for me for halting a Pearson speech in its tracks, but she knows he's in love with their babies and in love with being in love but that he's not in love with her and don't tell him to run off to Canada to finish his movie and then pout about it. If you want him to stay, then tell him that. But she can't be mad at him for wanting to pursue his career, especially during the uncertainty of a pandemic, and also because what she's really mad at it, IMO, is that he's not in love with her.

What do you think is going to happen with Kevin and Madison now? Is he going to leave his movie and go back to be with her as his "grand gesture" since he didn't do that with Sophie in the flash backs?

I agree that he is likely to come back/"grand gesture" Madison per the flashbacks with Sophie where he went to LA and their marriage went south. And I think it's wrong move except for the fact that twins notoriously arrive early.
I was getting on the Kadison train but last night's episode made me back away. While they have some similar things in their past, I think they are both too needy and wanting more than the other can give to truly be a good match.

I watched! I thought Kate going to find Mark was a little much, but if it brings her closure fine. I also appreciated how Toby handled it.
I was really starting to like Madison and Kevin together and I was bummed at where last night seems to be leading... totally did not understand the way she was acting towards him about traveling for his career. What is so bad about traveling with him? Why should he and why would she WANT him to give up his acting career? Ugh.
I was happy for Randall that it was revealed William didn't lie to him. Such a sad story though that it seems like his mom was in fact looking for him.

So I missed the first 4 minutes, I'm assuming that's when Kate actually broke the abortion news to Toby? I turned it on when she was at her first clinic check and they told her to come back the next day.
And oh man. When Hai told Randall that he thought William thought Laurel had died? That look of relief on him and Beth? That was some awesome acting there. That got me.

I'm also glad they're keeping the laurel storyline as like, a closed loop. I think itll be interesting to see what Randall learns about her and whatnot but...that it won't go on and on and on.

With the Marc plot, for all the hype in bringing him back, it just fell flat for me.
I do think there are situations where confronting an abuser from your past may make sense, but there's typically some sort of game plan (maybe talking with a therapist, ensuring it's safe to confront the person, etc.)
Kate just winged this and, for me, made Kate come off as a little unhinged. I'm trying to envision an ex of mine from decades ago showing up at my place of work and blaming me for all the problems in their life and then telling me their partner was 20 feet away, contemplating beating me up. Trust, I am not saying any of this to make light or less of real life abuse situations AT ALL as I was abused as a kid. But, and I hate this, but I have to agree a little bit with Marc that Kate had issues long before him and they were all around Jack and his untimely death. He just felt like a convenient scapegoat for all of her issues and while he is certainly responsible for some of her issues, I think most of her issues stem from Jack (some even before his death with him rewarding her with food).
It just felt like show decided to drop in a quick plotline that had Kate giving an ex she dated for six months 20 years ago a drive-by Pearson sermon. I guess to make up for Madison stopping Kevin's in its tracks.
I do feel for Kate having to go through an abortion alone, especially at her tender age. My heart broke for her when Rebecca came home, noticed Kate was visibly upset, and Kate played it off as having watched a sappy movie.
Also, I was totally with Kate when she called him out on saying they were "kids." He was a TWENTY FOUR YEAR OLD MAN who took advantage of a teenage girl who had just lost her beloved father and didn't even have her childhood home and the memories there to help comfort her. Like many abusers, he was able to smell the vulnerability coming off of her and use it to his advantage.

While I am curious to see her backstory, is it wrong that I'm glad Laurel is no longer alive?

I think she had been so focused on their little bubble that she literally hadn't thought about his career and how it would effect them. They began their relationship during Covid so she had never been with him with his travels. Should she give up her whole life to just travel with him? Does she not have a job? I mean... it sounds fun for a minute, but I wouldn't want that life for my family either, moving around and never getting roots. I honestly didn't read it as her saying quit acting. She was just saying that the life was not for her and her future kids. And he needed to figure out how that would effect him. Either quit acting, take more jobs in LA, travel without them and keep LA as their home base, etc. I agree on the Randall stuff.

I was so hoping we wouldn’t have to wait to hear if William knew Laural was alive. I didn’t think I would be interested if she was and before the break really didn’t want her to be alive. I’m wondering she thought happened to William and the baby.
I agree Toby handled it good. There was a minute where I thought he wasn’t going.
I was rooting for Madison/Kevin but she annoyed me. Don’t tell him to go and then be pissed and tell him he doesn’t want their little family because he is going to work. That family is too into speeches, everything doesn’t need on.

Such a good episode. The acting during the last scene was so good.
I agree with @melaniecarmichael - that whole scene with Kate and Marc was strange. Would have been more believable if she saw him and realized that she had moved on and left.

It seemed like the convo with the potential nanny brought up issues they hadn’t discussed and that they had different visions of how his work travel would play out.

Yes this is how I interpreted it too. Not even close to the same as a traveling movie star but I remember it was quite an adjustment when I got married to h. His winter schedule is tough and unpredictable. When I was working there would literally be days we wouldn’t see each other because he’d be coming home to sleep while I was at work. Then when the kids were born there’s days they won’t see him.

When my oldest was a baby, he worked out of town Mon - Thursday and was only with us on the weekends. When my youngest was 3 months old, he took a job out of town and was gone for 2 months. I knew this was his job going into it, but the reality of that lifestyle once the kids are actually here is a different story. I could only imagine if we hadn't lived that life prior to having kids. It would be so hard to truly understand it. I really felt for her in that moment, watching the reality of their future crash down on her.

I get that they don't want babies on set, but they are being ridiculous with baby Jack. When they said he was asleep in his bouncy chair? Wasn't he like 8-9 months or so BEFORE the jump forward? Now Madison is like 7 months pregnant. That puts him at well over a year, probably closer to 18 months. He'd be a full toddler, walking around and everything.

I feel like I remember a 1st birthday party last season, didn't they go back and visit the NICU and decide to pursue adopting another baby? I don't trust my memory, but either way I agree that he must be at least 18 months right now.

Am I the only one that feels like the Laurel storyline is just too similar or a repeat of the William story? I'm not quit on board yet to that storyline.

I felt like they both took it to extremes without having a logical conversation about it. Him giving up traveling for work completely or they break up seems drastic, I would like to see them have a more in depth discussion and come up with a plan to compromise. Maybe he only takes 1 or 2 movies a year that will require travel, who knows. I realize it's a show but I just like them and I want them to make it work! And I have twins myself, so I am envisioning not having my husband there for the infant stage...no thank you. Figure it out guys.

When the nanny was talking about switching schools for the kids and such, they focused on Madison and I think that’s what she was apprehensive about. That was my assumption anyway, I definitely could have read it wrong.

And I think when the nanny was saying all that, it really sank in.

Did anyone watch last night? I really liked Hai. I still have a lot of questions. Why didn't Laurel look for William/ Randall once she got out of prison and was settled? I don't get that part.
Also I knew in my head what was going to happen with the scenes for next week- I feel like anytime a show lingers on a car driving down the road that's the outcome.

cargem12, I think they kind of glossed over that just saying she didn't want to disrupt him and thought he was better off without her. And same to the second part. I do not like that storyline. Just let him get back so he doesn't miss it. We know he's ok since we see him in the flash forwards.

It been a while since I ugly cried at this show. The scene with Randall in the water😭😭. I’m glad it appears Randall has peace.
The previews annoyed me, we know he is ok. Yes, He might get hurt and not be ok for a short time frame but we seen the future.
