That’s a huge change wedding. So do thermals change based on your body temperature?

I’m dying to try thermals. I can’t believe I didn’t get any nail polish for Christmas lol. Lame!

My 2021 goal will be to work on my cuticles. Started neutral but wasn’t ready to totally give up on the holiday glitter. Orly almond milk and halo (I think?)

Chickencoop I use the mineral fusions for the colorstreet strips and regular polish but think it works for gel/shellac as well. It’s non acetone and much gentler on the nails. I swear by the hot water trick for fast removal

That’s a huge change wedding . So do thermals change based on your body temperature? Yep. When I am cold it is black and warm it is teal. The other day one hand had everything teal except my middle finger. It was odd but suitable:)

Feeling uninspired by January’s vibes right now. Might do a hot pink to be cheery, but I’m not sure I have one. Anyone have a hot pink they like? OPI Pompeii Purple. It is really Barbie hot pink.

That is so cute boycebear!! I wish my DD would stop chewing her nails so I could do something like that with her My Dd is 6, she chewed her nails (and her own toe nails.. Ewww) from age 3 to just before her 6th birthday. Now she wants to grow them, they grow fast, I have to trim and file them every 4/5 days. Have you tried nail varnish before? Sometimes pretty nails are exactly what stops kids chewing them. I’ll have to look into nail varnish! I do paint her nails, but it hasn’t stopped her, she just chews them regardless and I don’t love the idea of her ingesting the polish.

It is made for kids, and supposed to be non toxic. I used it on my DD when I could not trust her to not bite her nails.

I've been trying out more of a square nail shape because I feel like it looks a little better when painted, but I kind of hate the feel of it, so I think I'm going back to rounded and shorter.
How do you all do your nail shaping at home? I use clippers then file, but I'm not sure what's best.

Cuz I gotta question. Those of you that remove gel at home. I have those little nail cover clips to hold polish remover in place but the acetone KILLED my fingertips. They're so so dry now. So what remover have you found that works but maybe isn't quite as harsh?? Add coconut oil to the acetone. Like a tbsp

It was aquaphor! Then to use cuticle oil and aquaphor after. (Unless painting right away, then wait and use oil and aquaphor after painting.)

But ima do that and aquaphor around my nails just as a buffer too. So...we ll see!

How do you all do your nail shaping at home? I use clippers then file, but I'm not sure what's best. If I need to take more than a little length off I clip and file, otherwise just file and shape. Also use one of the multi sided thingamajigs to file & shape the edges and buff the nails before applying polish.

I highly recommend a glass/crystal nailfile for shaping and just general care. They are chemically etched (if real) to be super fine. You can even go back and forth with it. It apparently seals your nail tips instead of fraying them. I got one a number of months ago, and got my mom one for Christmas and she has been raving about it. And they should last forever as long as you don't drop and break it.

I got this one for my mom that she loves: smile.amazon.com/dp/B00TDDI6IS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_7GE9Fb97FGFQJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1I got a Germanikure one for myself. They no longer have the listing I went through, but there are some reasonably priced ones now (there were not when I bought for my mom): smile.amazon.com/dp/B017CHTAQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_ZIE9Fb9WV927TI believe Czech crystal is supposed to be what makes it "real" or good.

So what remover have you found that works but maybe isn't quite as harsh?? I know ppu usually has an acetone antidote you can add to your acetone to help with the harshness but it just ended Monday. I'll look to see what maker it was and I'm sure you can just buy directly. I need to get some too so I'll let you know where I find it.
