Y'all my youngest is honing her filibuster skills! X can call twice a week, but she doesn't want to talk to him. So she just read him The Foot Book. And now she is reading it backwards to him! This isn't the first time she has done something like this. She has started a pokemon game and read him every bubble and instructions, then when he called again she restarted the whole game and read it all to him again. She has also sang him 3 rounds of B I N G O and she sang row row row your boat 36.4 times! Couldn’t happen to a better person. Lol.

I just started Bridgerton. I've looked up some more about the series—I had thought (no idea why) that the season would be focused on the first book, but it seems like they're trying to fit the whole series in the season...? No shade, just curious. And Miss Thompson isn't in the books, right? I should have read them before watching because my crappy memory is going to bother me. The first season is definitely the first book. Maybe some hints at things from other books.

The son hates talking to her so he will do the same thing as your DD. Only he likes to read her the Chinese food menu.

I started Bridgerton and their presentation gowns are all wrong! Where are the hoop skirts?
My Geek ladies know of my propensity for accurate fashion in period pieces.

The feathers were accurate, but anyone being presented to the queen had to wear a full hoopskirt. Such as: The rest of the dresses are not the problem. It's merely the presentation gowns

Interesting. I had no idea the British court was so far behind the times. It was what's her face's fault. The queen. Obviously clinging to the fashions of her youth.

How do you all generally sign work emails? I tend to default to some type of thanks/thank you or just write my name if that doesn't feel appropriate. I see v/r a lot. I've been googling and Forbes says the #1 most common and what experts say to use is "Best." I have literally never seen that in my work. NEVER EVER. Anyway, wanting to try something other than "thanks." I feel like that sounds like pushover female and I am trying to be more confident. Although DH says that is pretty common for him to use some form of "thanks" too. I always use Best for work when writing in English. Seems very friendly neutral to me.

Since this is randoms and I have no where to share this (and probably shouldn’t but it is crazy) Danish national TV just released a highly controversial cartoon on its children’s network called Jon Dillarman about the man with probably the worlds longest penis. From what I can make out from the theme song Dillerman translates to some form of ‘peepeeman— like dickman— and the song says there is almost nothing he can’t do with his enormous penis — and he is shown lighting a barbecue with it, carrying balloons — it is covered up by an enormous striped sleeve.
Parents have complained but they won’t take it down because psychologists have approved it. I found it on YouTube and it is yikes. We get the station as we are close to Denmark but don’t watch it because Danish is hard.

I get this question a lot from the nonnative speakers I work with. Best regards is standard among them but I don’t use it. If it’s someone I don’t know I will you regards because it is also pretty common— with people I know and work with I use thanks if the situation suits (I manage a team and do mean if a lot) or if it is just quick I use /blablabirdie

Can you imagine if that show was in the US? I think people would drop dead. But that does seem like odd content for a children’s program. In many ways.

a previous secretary (like old school, trained on a typewriter/shorthand secretary) signed all my company's letters with "very truly yours" which was also very strange to me. We have files going back to 1968 and up until 2003ish when she retired all the correspondence is that way. When I was a paralegal in the 90s the firm lawyers always used very truly yours or letters

I only use "Thanks!" or "Thanks," depending on who I'm writing to. I have one client that uses "Best" and it always stood out to me. Not in a good or bad way, just the only time I see it.

A children's show about a giant penis. I'm all for body honesty and transparency and I know Europe is more progressive that way but waaaaat.

I think my main fear would be that my 7 year old would think it was hysterical and sing about the penis that could do anything all the day long. Here is a link if you are brave. My Danish is pretty bad and I can’t figure out if his gargantuan penis is trying to save the day as it causes mayhem or if it is just in general making mayhem.

I can’t stop laughing at the opening credits of that show. Oh my. It doesn’t bother me at all, I think it’s hilarious but also so inappropriate for a kids show.
The Danes. Who knew!
