I've been working on enchanted mesa by Stephen West for a longggg time. I'm determined to finish it soon. Stephen West is so great! He does work shops at my local yarn shop frequently.

cmb did you follow a pattern for the Marie Curie doll? D2 keeps asking for a while doll family to look like us and I have been aghast at the prices of custom dolls but maybe I could crochet us. I did. It came from this book. It wasn’t too difficult IMO.

Oh and I used my projector to cut out the boys' pj pants last night and it was so slick! I'm in love with it! I have a handful of other sewing projects planned so hopefully its just as quick for those as well. I do miss being able to lay out all my pieces ahead of cutting to play fabric tetris but I'm sure I'll figure that out soon. I sew a lot of my own clothes and I've been intrigued with your projector. How do you make sure the patterns are to scale? I'm having a hard time picturing it being practical.

How do you make sure the patterns are to scale? I'm having a hard time picturing it being practical. We mounted it to the ceiling in the basement. There's a fb group (projectors for sewing) and they have a file that has grids on it that you line up with your cutting mat and you adjust the zoom scale on Adobe from your computer until the 1" box is 1" and that is the zoom I need to be right. I double check all of my patterns before I start. The patterns I have all either have a projector file or an A0 copy shop file. Either one will work but the projector file is normally better about having all the pieces lined up. Oh and I guess I should clarify that my patterns are digital download pdf patterns, not the thin paper ones you buy at the store. My mom was very confused and thinking like old-school projector where you put the sheets on the glass and it projects it to the wall. This is like the ones they use for home theaters and business presentations and stuff.

I picked mine up on Amazon on black Friday for right about $100. I sold H on it because now I don't need stacks upon stacks of patterns laying around. 🤣 I need to get all my files onto Google drive and organized so that it will be that much easier to do.

ktg I love that double sided knitting! One year I made a geek-a-long blanket for my brother and sister. I need to do one for DS1 some day. This is the pattern - it's for my Dr. Who-obsessed brother's girlfriend. Maybe there's something geeky about double knits? 😁 www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/time-of-the-doctor-scarf

Why must yarn be so pricey. I just bought all the yarn my arms could hold at Joann's. 🤣

I slurged on a yarn roller the other week, and my husband has begun to ask if it is going to be a permanent fixture in the room because I have yet to put it away and keep buying yarn 🙊

If you get stuck, go to you tube. i’ve been doing youtube follow-alongs to make all the things so far. i feel like i’m finally mediocre at knowing what simple stitches are called now so fingers crossed i can make it through this pattern without a bunch of insanity.

This is what I did with my stockings! I was flipping between the pattern, Googling abbreviations, and watching YouTube for the how to on stitches I wasn't sure about.

Finished up Christmas pjs! The fabric I wanted to use, I didn't have enough. So I went to plan b, still not enough, plan c also not enough. But b and c together and I made half and half pants! 🤣 I only had enough to make one pair of each fabric and they always have matching so this is what we ended up with. I was hoping to alternate the pattern (plaid on the left for one and plaid on the right for the other) but I went stupid when I was cutting the pieces out. 🤦♀️🤷♀️
