Weeks Pregnant: 7
Baby is the Size of a: raspberry
FTM/STM/TTM/etc.: TTM 🤞🏼
Appointments: ultrasound on 12/22 & initial OB on 1/7
How are you feeling? Physically, I’m handling the symptoms fine, but the anxiety is hard to manage. Even though I’ve had 2 ultrasounds now (one at ER & one at a private clinic) that say everything is fine, I’m so anxious. I’m going to give it to my next ultrasound and if the anxiety doesn’t ease I’m going to talk to my doctor. I don’t want medication but who knows.
Rants/raves? Just the anxiety. I’m trying to take it a day at a time. Also, my mom just had back surgery and I wish I could be there like normal for her. Fuck Covid.
GTKY: what’s your favorite seasonal recipe/food? I love ham. Big, sweet ham. I also love ambrosia and pineapple casserole.

Weeks Pregnant: 4+3
Baby is the Size of a: poppyseed
FTM/STM/TTM/etc.: TTM 🤞🏼
Appointments: Bloods on Tuesday. Waiting for a call with my first u/s date.
How are you feeling? Physically, I’m still early so no symptoms yet. Mentally I'm a bit of a mess. I'm actually finding that I'm feeling totally detached from this pregnancy. I know it's my way of preparing for a bad u/s but I have to remind myself that I'm pregnant sometimes. It's like my mind is refusing to process it until I know there is a heartbeat. I know that just because I've had previous losses ot doesn't mean this will be one, but I'm terrified of not finding a heartbeat.
Rants/raves? My mat leave ends December 23rd and I go back January 4th. I'm lucky that I'll be teaching remotely but it's going to be hard with both my girls at home too (7 year old also doing school remotely and 18 month old)
GTKY: what’s your favorite seasonal recipe/food? I need some ideas!

onyx I'm so sorry you're dealing with the anxiety too:/ I wish I had any suggestions or solutions but I don't:( Mine only got better with my last pregnancy when I could start to feel kicks consistently. Hopefully that will happen early for you!

Weeks Pregnant: 8w 2d Baby is the Size of a: wild strawberry FTM/STM/TTM/etc.: TTM Appointments: I have appts mid Jan- regular OB and also the NT scan, both around 12-13 weeks How are you feeling? Not good. Meds are helping but these last couple days, I have been quite nauseous. Rants/raves? Rant: MIL was supposed to be our child care next week, but she was just exposed to covid on Tuesday, so now she can’t come until after she quarantines/ gets a negative test. So I’m mad at covid in general. Rave-ish? We are tentatively planning a trip to Hawaii when baby is a couple months old and I’m still on maternity leave. Obviously a lot is up in the air. But I’m hoping it can happen. GTKY: what’s your favorite seasonal recipe/food? I have a lot. I really like ham. I like ambrosia too onyx, my MIL makes a really good one. But I think my faves are snowball cookies (I plan to make some soon), and this “cranberry stuff” my mom makes that is like a cranberry bread pudding. I wish food sounded better these days. 😭

Cream together ½ c butter, ¾ c sugar, pinch of salt Add 3 eggs, beaten Add 1 can whole berry cranberry sauce Fold in 6 slices cubed white bread Pour mixture into greased 1.5 qt casserole dish Bake 40-50 minutes.

FTM/STM/TTM/etc.: STM fx!!
Appointments: ultrasound on 1/14 and ob appointment right after
How are you feeling? Not great. I’ve been nauseous all week pretty much all day long. I’ve gotten sick a handful of times. This hasn’t happened with either DS or my loss. Taking things one day at a time as I’m still so anxious that we won’t have a heartbeat at our u/s. I’ll take any suggestions as to how to manage this nausea. I’m hoping this nausea is a good sign.
Rants/raves? My DH has been so supportive which is so nice. He’s a paramedic so he’s working on the front line but still being so helpful when he’s home.
GTKY: what’s your favorite seasonal recipe/food? I love Christmas cookies. I’m an avid baker and this nausea isn’t helping. I also love ham and fresh baked rolls.

skategirl128 Ugh. Nausea is the worst. I have nausea and vomiting constantly from about 6 weeks until delivery...so I feel your pain. Things that have helped me are water with crushed ice that I sip through a straw, boiling water with ginger root in it that I sip like tea throughout the day, last pregnancy was natural unsweetened peach juice and I found peanut butter on toast or crackers helped keep my tummy fuller and helped lessen the nausea. Also sour hard candies to suck on helped a bit. I hope you are able to find something that works for you! ETA I am with you also regarding the anxiety surrounding hearing a heartbeat. I'm so sorry you feel this way also. I so hope we all get through our first US uneventful and we all get to hear that beautiful sound 💗

I’ve had nausea for the first time with this surrobabe skategirl128. I had it not at all with DS and only a touch with DD so it’s a new world for me. Eating carbs, sucking on hard candy, and sipping ginger ale seem to be the things helping me most. I’ve been eating a lot of toast. Even though I don’t feel hungry I seem to always feel better after food.

Hawaii would be amazing thatgolfb. I am dreaming of travel. I follow so many travel pages on Insta and have so many tentative plans in my head for when covid risk goes down... Columbia River Gorge area in Oregon is high on my list. I’m hoping we can take advantage of some of my time off work after surrobabe is born but we also might be moving in that timeframe, so we’ll see.

So my first ultrasound appointment is set for February 12. I'll be 12+2. I feel WAY less stressed about it.. now I just have to make it to that date with a healthy growing baby 🤞
I've actually scheduled my NIPT for the end of January (I'll be 10+2) so as long as I can get my doctor to write me a requisition I should have the results from that before the ultrasound. Which will greatly diminish my stress for the u/s. But greatly increase my stress over tomorrow's betas...

skategirl128, nausea is the WORST. I have such a high pain threshold, but when it comes to nausea I become a big useless baby. Anyway, I am already on reglan 3x per day, and and also unisom + B6 at night. But for non-medication routes, PPs suggested what I was going to suggest. Small meals to keep your belly satiated but not too full, carbs, ginger ale/candies/chews (I have been liking the gin gin chews), and ice water. So much ice water.

Anyone else feel like they just can’t drink enough? I’m chugging water, tried a body armor, craving grapes, bell peppers, and cucumbers. It’s like I just can’t physically get enough fluid. I still feel soooo thirsty.

onyx the past 2 days I've been super thirsty. I remember needing to always have a bottle of water beside my bed with my last pregnancy because I wamoukd get so thirsty during the night and if I didn't get something to drink I would throw up:/ Not fun! My betas are today. I'm super stressed. Part of me is wishing I'd asked for an earlier scan now...🤣

My doctor just called (I had someone else for my intake appointment) and she is going to move my ultrasound date to closer to 10 weeks and said I can get all my bloodwork done when I get my NIPT (apparently the other guy didn't order betas with my blood panel for today anyways) at around 10 weeks too. So no blood test today!

sammysam well I’m glad you have that relief today! I know when I have labs I obsess over watching my portal for results. I’m still drinking a cup of coffee in the morning so I’m sure that’s contributing to my thirst. Is coffee a bigger no no than I remember? All my IRL friends acted like I was taking shots of tequila when I mentioned that. I know with my 2 boys I had a cup through my whole pregnancy and my doctor never said anything. Every morning I feel barely any nausea and every morning it makes me nervous. It hits me in the evening. I have an ultrasound today and I’m excited but also completely nervous. I’m 7+4 today and that’s when my MMC stopped growing. Idk why I decided to notice that today. I’ve known since I booked it how far along I would be.

onyx good luck today! I'm sure everything will go perfectly. I know how stressful PGAL ultrasounds are so sending you so so so much love ❤ Also 1 cup of coffee a day is perfectly fine. I think they recommend staying under 300mg a day. With both my girls there was a good period where all I could stomach was Coke... I also found that nausea hit mostly at night early on with my pregnancies. I haven't had anything so far (5 weeks tomorrow). Today is the first day I'm feeling just a little off...

Measuring 7 + 6 and a HR of 165 😍😍😍
ETA: I have a SCH and I’m so glad they found it and reported it to me. Because it’ll help me handle that so much better if I start to bleed.

Which is less often than before; I tend to lose my taste for it during first tri. And I will have my normal cold brews which have a lot of caffeine. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

sammysam, yesterday I NEEDED a fountain coke from McDonald's. Nothing else would do. I stopped on my way home from work to get one, hah. Today it's Diet coke. I need it. Will probably make another stop.

Yay for a good ultrasound and heart rate onyx!! Happy to see that update. I’m still doing a cup of coffee in the morning over here. Fatigue is really kicking my ass. Nausea seems to be letting up a little. It doesn’t help that DD is a shit sleeper still at 16 months. Maybe one day she’ll sleep through the night?
