How's everybody doing? Doing good over here, just trying to keep my head above water with working plus three kids. I'm a school counselor so it took about 1 day for me to be swamped with the state of mental health this year. H is going great, just in the last few days she started noticing if anybody but me was holding her and screams her head off. So that's fun.

Add me to the a lot on the plate list. I'm still home, but balancing DD2's OT and trauma follow ups, DD1 doing hybrid school on a rotating basis, and a 3.5 month old, and I'm freaking beat. Surviving, but woof, I'm so tired all the time. I can't decide if I'm looking forward to going back to work or not at this point either.

Even though it's stressful it does at times feel like a 'break' from 24/7 parenting.

I need real, actual time, feeling like a functional adult outside of being a parent. I've been 24/7 with them since March and I'm at my wit's end. That said, the idea of going back into a middle school is giving me awful anxiety. It feels like an awful damned if I do, damned if I don't.

DD2 is 2.5 months and is such a chill, happy baby! As of her 2m checkup, she’s 10lbs and 22.25”, a bit petite but proportional. Leading up to the appointment, I’d had some concerns about possible torticollis and plagiocephaly (DD1 had both and still has some lingering effects at almost 2y, so I was on high alert to catch it early), but her range of motion has improved and her flat spots are evening out, so it seems to be a non-issue, thankfully. Overall, we’re hanging in there. Life with four kids is a lot to balance, especially with DS1’s virtual schooling and all the kids’ therapy appointments, so it depends on the day whether it feels like we’re thriving or drowning. 🤷♀️ I can't imagine ever feeling like I'm thriving with 4 kids. 😆 3 is hard enough!

We're finishing up our second week of day care/work. He has handled the transition great. And I'm enjoying having a routine again and having multiple adult interactions a day. Thankfully I have a very laid back, lenient boss.. this is my 10th day at work and my 10th day being late 😆

Thank goodness I’m WFH.

We are at the end of the second week too. J is doing really great and they love her at daycare. I’m doing ok pumping. I’m trying to still pump at night while I WFH so if/when I do go back I’ll have freezer stash because some days I’m an ounce or two short.
Of course I came back to work and got dumped on by my boss. My performance review is today too so that should be fun.
And the newly 3 year old is officially a stage 10 clinger. They moved him to the toddler room full time this week and he’s exhausted and doesn’t want me to leave at drop off/doesn’t fight pick up. But he does love helping take sister to the infant room and pick her up.

Especially since the baby went from sleeping a 7-8 hour first stretch to waking every two hours like clockwork all damn night long.

As much as I don't like working from home 3x a week with my 1st grader doing her own distance learning, those days are kind of saving me because I don't HAVE to shower first thing, and I can get up an hour later than usual.

I’m honesty to the point where my lunch break is a short treadmill workout and a shower. And my hair is use to washing every other day now.
I kept seeing really good makeup deals and wanted to get something for Christmas, but at this point I’ve worn it maybe 2-3 times since quarantine and I have no clue if/when I’ll be back to the office.
Luckily H is wfh next week so I get help getting out the door.

Everyone ready for Christmas? I still have plenty to wrap and waiting on gifts 🙃. Luckily it's none of the kids presents, just other people's like my mom and aunt. Hopefully I will get all my groceries in my Walmart pickup order so I don't have to go to a grocery store this week.

I think I'm ready! I was stressed last week but this week has been better. One more work day then 'off' until Jan. 4th. The off is in quotations because all 3 kids will be home so not like it will be a super relaxing break.

I jinxed myself. Woke up to my 7 year old throwing up at 5am. She seems okay now, but DH and her are going to get Covid tests right now to be safe. I'm just worried it's a stomach bug and we'll all be throwing up over Christmas.

Her rapid test was negative and she seems fine now, so fingers crossed it was just a fluke!

I hope everyone had a good first Christmas with their babies! Ours was pretty good overall. But boy... am I ready to get back to normal life again. DD1 (23 months) hasn’t napped 3 of the last 4 days, so hopefully going back to our normal routine will reset things. I’m not yet ready for life with three non-napping kids. 😬 We had a good Christmas, but I thought the same thing that three special family time isn't as special this year because we're all together all the time anyway! We will all be back to normal here mid-jan, I work at an elementary school and DD1 is first grade, and our governor has given the okay for K-2 to stay back full time.
