Ben turned six months on Sunday, and I know most of our other babies do soon. How are they all doing? Updates, milestones, and also how are the moms doing? Pics too please

Ben is doing great. He can sit independently, has fluffy hair that sticks straight up, and I think he’s teething. This would be the earliest that any of my kids have teethed, but at his 6-month appt the pediatrician said his gums looked swollen, and he’s been fussier for no apparent reason. At his 6-month appointment he was 42nd percentile for weight (I’m happy about that since he was a preemie), but only 8th percentile for height We transitioned from the Snoo and it wasn’t a big deal. He puts himself on his stomach and loves to suck his fingers. He’s a great night sleeper, but we’re still working on naps. I tried feeding him some banana and he wasn’t super excited, so we’ll keep trying some other foods. I started scaling down in breastfeeding a few weeks ago. After a decade of being pregnant or breastfeeding most of the time, I’m ready to be finished. I already stopped pumping during the workday and that has been amazing to not have to worry about. Here’s Ben practicing his sitting and DH admiring him.

We have a while till we hit 6 months over here. V is 21 weeks, 4 3/4 months. She is doing great but sleeping like garbage. I’m sure it’s my own fault but dang I gotta get this under control. She isn’t swaddled anymore because she rolls both ways but I’m not sure that that’s really the culprit. I probably need to sleep train her. Other than that DD1 turned 7 on Tuesday and we had a nice family dinner and cake at home. Covid is raging here so I didn’t want to do a party, but she seemed to be ok with it. So far my family hasn’t caught it and I’m trying my hardest to avoid any of us getting it. I got a haircut last week, it’s a little shorter than I wanted but my hair grows fast so it’ll be there soon enough. I’ve been eating too much Halloween candy but there’s not much left so the temptation will be gone soon. We have not decorated for Christmas yet, have you guys? We are going to be doing thanksgiving at home, just the 5 of us. I need to come up with a meal plan. I work that morning, get off at 2, so it’ll be a dinner not late lunch. I’m thinking of just getting a turkey breast or ham from honeybaked ham, theirs are so good.

trtlcrzy re Thanksgiving - I've seen people say they are doing turkey breast and then each family member pick their favorite side (so you end up with 2-4ish)5 and just cut the recipe in half if needed, so it's still similar to regular Thanksgiving dinner just smaller. We decorated for Christmas last weekend. DH leaves in a week so we wanted to make sure it was done before then.

G will be 6 months on Sunday. He's able to sit unassisted for about a minute or so before he topples over. No teeth but he's chewing on stuff like crazy. He goes wild grabbing my face and chewing on my chin. He legit left a bruise 2 weeks ago. I miss sleep. Those first few months when he only woke up once or twice at night and had that 4 hour nap mid-day, those were good times. He now hates sleep unless he is being held or nursing. He freaks and throws the pacifier if I try to sub that in. It's been 2 months of this mess. He gets his 6 month needles on Tuesday and I will legit cry if his sleep gets any worse. DH says it will be a "factory reset" and he'll go back to his old sleep habits from before his 4 month shots lol. I still haven't stuck to any exercise routine. I keep starting things and after a few days use shit sleep as an excuse to stop. It's a bad cycle. But I ordered a treadmill, so when that gets here I'll have no excuse not to use it. Oh and we started solids this week. So far he's had oatmeal and avocado. He's still pretty unsure and don't want too much. But he's not doing the tongue-thrust so he's good for it just needs to figure it out.

Hi everyone! I haven’t checked in in a while. I keep checking the thread late in the week and then telling myself that I’ll just wait until next weeks. Rinse and repeat, lol.
Anyway, T is almost 7 months old. He got his first 2 teeth a couple weeks ago. He’s sitting independently, though still falls over occasionally. He’s started dragging himself across the floor. But still at a slow pace and not too far, so I’m still safe for a little while longer. We started BLW and he loves trying food! He will sit there and gnaw on just about anything we put in front of him. So he’s tried a lot of different foods. Not much of it is consumed, but I’m not concerned with that at all. He does great putting himself down for naps and nap length varies from 30 min to 2 hours. So still not a predictable schedule yet. Nighttime is not as good. He wakes up several times a night so I am just working to keep only 2 feedings a night. I’m trying to do some sleep training but it’s really hard because his crib is in my room.
I’m doing pretty good myself. I’ve had on and off back pain which hasn’t flared up in a few weeks, so I may have treated myself successfully (I’m a PT). I’ve also been working to reduce my diastasis recti, which is very slowly working.
Overall, he’s still quite a happy baby. Loves big siblings and they adore him. Poor guy just hates his car seat. Good thing we rarely drive anywhere.

The twins are 7 months. Both sit without assistance and like to play with their toys while next to each other. They are just starting to really look at and interact with each other and omg it's so cute and I can't wait to see it evolve. Definitely a bonus of having two at once, the built in playmate! But also I can foresee that soon we will have a lot of random tears when one of them accidentally bonks or pinches or whatever to the other. lol. They also each have two teeth, that popped up within the same day of each other a few weeks ago. Feeding is going well, I do a combo of pouches and some BLW. They have really started to show their own personalities a bit which I love!

trtlcrzy our Christmas lights are already up. We didn’t do them at all last year, since DH and I went to Fiji in early December and then we went to the east coast for 10 days at Christmas. So the kids were excited about them this year. I think early Christmas decorations are definitely a thing this year.

C will be 6 months on Sunday. We are working on sitting. She topples over pretty quickly though. We tried starting solids last week but she didn’t do well so we are putting that on hold. We are still following with peds GI. She had an upper GI last week that was normal. She is finally up to 13 pounds though! Sleep is still terrible. Naps are hit or miss but nighttime sleep has been awful for a little over a month. I would love to sleep train but don’t feel comfortable with it because her weight issues.

These babies are adorable! N is 5.5 months. He has two bottom teeth (the earliest of all my kids). They only seemed to bother him a little, so I can’t complain too much about that minus his awful latch he had for about 2 weeks. He’s finally out of the SNOO. We gave it back to DH’s coworker, so there’s no going back now. His sleep is ok. He rarely naps longer than 30 minutes during the day, which really sucks, but his night sleep is better than that. We started solids via BLW this week. He loves almost everything he’s tried, but sweet potato was definitely his favorite!

It snowed a couple weeks ago but has since melted so we gotta get them up before it snows again.

I cannot believe we’re getting to half a year already 😭 so crazy Miles is doing great though. I mean, I could complain about sleep again but I’ll refrain lol. He’s sitting up pretty well, enjoys things that aren’t me holding him for longer chunks of time like his jumperoo and just sitting or laying on the floor playing with toys. We went ahead and upgraded to the convertible car seat and omg. Game changer. He does so good in the car now. Except when the sun is in his face which I need to get some more shades I guess. But it’s so nice to drive without a screaming baby anymore. I also started solids with him today. We did eggs and avocado. I don’t know how much he actually got down but he had fun with smooshing them in his face lol

I was thinking about switching to the convertible seat too. My oldest is switching to a high back booster so instead of storing the convertible, I could just install it for the baby and ditch the infant seat. I was worried about him falling asleep in the convertible seat and then waking him to get out, but we are never in the car, lol! wasabi you may have convinced me. I hate the car screaming.

G just had his 6 month immunizations and flu shot. He's 17lbs 5ozs. He's also VERY close to outgrowing his infant seat. I imagine we'll be making the switch any time now.

Sleep training night one is tonight. She took about 20 minutes to fall asleep with a little fussing. Then woke up about an hour later so I had to come in and get her back to sleep. Took about the same amount of time. I hope the rest of the night goes well, I work bright and early tomorrow so I’m going to sleep pretty soon.

We just switched to the convertible as well. He didn't make a peep while we drove DH to the airport this morning.

I’m going to try to avoid switching to the convertible seat until warmer weather. It’s so much easier using an infant seat with the bunting over it. I did finally get V a winter hat that actually fits. The other ones I have are way too big and fall down over her eyes. I do want to get her a fleece coverall thing for if I do take her outside occasionally. The ones from DD2 are too big.
I aborted sleep training on wed night because I had to wake up at 4:30 and she kept waking up. I needed my sleep, and while DH could have taken over she’s in my room so I would have woken up every time anyways. I started over last night. She woke up once around 11:30 so I nursed her and put her back in the pnp. Then again at 4:30, nursed and back to the pnp. When she woke after that I brought her into bed with me because I wanted to sleep longer. So overall it went well.
