how’s everyone doing? sleep is pretty hit or miss right now. he’s giving a good first stretch 9-12 but then up 2 or 3 times after and it takes awhile for him to get settled. i know it will all be different in a few weeks (for better or worse). other than that i’m ok. also managed my first solo bedtime last night and survived.
our governor placed more restrictions this week including no social gatherings with people outside of your household until dec 18th. i haven’t been going anywhere socially except my moms. i’m feeling overwhelmed.
i never finished my christmas shopping and hope to get most of it done by the end of the weekend. i also need to get a good sibling pic so i can get christmas cards sent.

polson, 9-12 seems like a pretty good stretch! Hopefully he will start giving you more of those stretches so you can get some rest and finish your Christmas shopping soon. Does going to your mom’s count as a social gathering? I understand the need for the restrictions but also the importance of your mental health should be on the priority list too.

polson that first stretch is great!! I’m sorry kiddo is up a lot after that though G is usually up 3 times a night. Last night he was super congested and gassy and just making a ton of noise. He is a VERY noisy sleeper to the point where DH ended up going into DDs room with her when she woke up at 2am. My little chunker gained 1.5 pounds in the last 2 weeks 😂 the pediatrician was like “well usually the 1 month checkup is when we look to see good weight gain but I’m not worried about his weight!” It’s so weird after having DD be under 20th percentile for weight for the longest time (I think she’s in the mid30s now!).

I just did a big grocery pick up that will get us through end of next weekend at least. I washed all the laundry yesterday and just need to fold and put it away. I’m going to start working on packing what I can for when it’s go time. Other than that I’m just trying to stay sane and keep the kids busy while we wait.

katespade yay for good weight gain! my first sounds like your dd in terms of weight and i feel like i feel like that stress is there for me too. Fearsy that was what i was questioning as well - i said the exact same thing to my mom yesterday and she agreed. h also agrees. i just don’t know how other people would view it but also i guess i don’t care. that was really the only restriction that affects our family so i think we’re doing ok.

I'm so ready to have this baby. I feel fine physically, I'm just getting so impatient to meet her. Almost 39 weeks and absolutely no signs of labor coming any time soon. On the plus side, I've had some major nesting going on, which has resulted in lots of household projects finally getting completed. DH is over it lol.

How's everyone doing this week? Ready for Thanksgiving?
I had a disappointing appointment this morning. I've had cramping the past couple of days and have been pretty active overall (walking several miles a day, doing exercise on my birthing ball, etc), so I was confident that I would have some kind of progress. NOPE. Cervix is still thick, baby is at station -5. I know things can happen quickly, but I'm bummed about lack of progress.

marigold, I’m sorry! It sucks to feel like your efforts haven’t made a difference. Try to remember though that lots of times the info the doctor gives isn’t always indicative of labor or things progressing. Some women go from closed right to baby in the same day! Hang in there, friend.

we’re ok here. i’ve had a couple decent nights of sleep so i feel almost human again. h didn’t have to go into work right away yesterday so i managed to make it to trader joe’s. i decided we are just going to do a bunch of apps for thanksgiving - i just don’t have the energy to do something more. i also bought one of their gingerbread turkey cookie decorating kits so well have that as an activity in the morning. i’m super disappointed and anxious about the state of things here but trying to work myself out of this funk. my mom is also planning on dropping a thanksgiving meal so at least h and i will be able to have some leftovers and we’ll all get some real dessert. marigold it’s so hard not to get discouraged by that. anecdote - i walked around at a 3 and 50% effaced for 2 weeks last time and nothing happened on its own - it just made me super anxious. fx things start progressing for you!

Today is my “1st” due date (LMP EDD). I was up for a few hours overnight with cramps but they eventually stopped. Appt this morning went well and I’m measuring right on track at 40 weeks. I have been absolutely ravenous today especially so guess I’m gearing up for either nursing or Thanksgiving. Maybe both. 😂

Repost from the drinking thread on GD but I have reached the want to kill everyone phase of pregnancy where literally everything pisses me off and something that should be enjoyable like being with my kids/making banana pudding makes me want to lose my ever loving shit. Lordt!

sorry Fearsy! i think what i’m dealing with is more sleep deprivation related than anything else (although that probably doesn’t make it any better). also i think i might have bruised my tailbone during delivery or something. anyone else ever dealt with this? it’s been almost 3 weeks and sitting/getting up is so painful. not sure at what point i make a call if this isn’t a normal thing.

Oh gosh, polson. That sounds so painful! I remember having a lot of discomfort sitting after giving birth and tailbone pain but not for 3 weeks. I think it might be worth asking your provider. Maybe they’ll be able to give some suggestions on meds/things to do to alleviate the pain.

My sister called and said she’s going to cancel her flight. She was supposed to come visit and meet the new baby (still pregnant) in two weeks but Covid cases are getting really bad in her area. I know it’s the right choice for everyone’s safety but I’m sad. She has never had to wait to meet my babies despite living across the country. With my first her flight landed the same minute C was born which was pretty special. When L was born, my sister was here and took care of C and brought her to the hospital for us. I didn’t realize how much I was really looking forward to my sister’s presence and now I’m sad. I know this is really not a huge deal and others are dealing with far worse problems. Sorry for the whine.

Fearsy i’m sorry...this is such a hard time. don’t feel bad about whining - it really sucks. the girls were both up 2 times last night and the baby had a hard time settling every time he was up. i’ve had pretty much a whole pot of coffee (half caff) already and now h thinks he’s passing a kidney stone😑 i have no idea what i’ll do all day - i just want to nap and binge shows on the couch but that’s not happening. add me to whining club.

Fearsy I’m glad your sister made the right choice even if it totally sucks. My mom flying down and my ILs visiting all in the last 2 weeks sent my anxiety through the roof. I’m still very much on edge and will be until we’ve safely cleared the 2 week window post visits and no one is sick.

I'm sorry, Fearsy. Hopefully she'll be able to re-book and visit soon. My sister is also supposed to come visit, but I think she'll end up having to cancel, too. I know we're 9 months into the pandemic now, but this all still seems so surreal. polson, are you feeling better? I'd definitely contact your doctor about that! I'm now overdue with no signs of labor in sight. Still feeling good and not like I'm 9 months pregnant, so I guess I'll take a positive where I can get it. I was mentally set on having a November baby; it seems weird now that she'll be arriving in December.

marigold, welcome to the overdue club! Sucky place to be, right? I’m 6 days overdue today based on my LMP calculations. But my other kids were 14 and 13 days late based on that too so guess we’ll see. I’m ready at this point but expected that I wouldn’t give birth before December anyway.

marigold and Fearsy I’m sorry y’all are overdue. I was 6 days late with DD and I know it’s the worst. Hoping those babies come ASAP! Somehow I have a 4 week old baby today! I don’t know what he did this morning but man, my left nipple is killing me today!

I'm only 1 day late according to my official due date (based on the dating u/s), but 8 days late based on LMP. DS was a due date baby, so I was confident DD would be early or at least on time. I hope we both have good news this week! Did you end up inducing with your other kids?

I can’t stop snuggling and kissing him- I remember being so thrilled with DD but I think having the losses before G is making me even more thankful for him being here.

They went ahead and scheduled an induction for 41 weeks, but I'm not sure if I'll go through with it. Baby and I are both doing fine, so there's really no reason to induce (other than my growing impatience 😂).
