codex320 I am so so excited for you! and gah to your hysteroscopy. I remember that but it was just a mild discomfort for me. My twice HSG was actually the worst. I nearly passed out waiting to be called in by the radiologist because my RE had to insert the bulb in the office. The radiologist initially had a really hard time and couldn't get the tube in. Ugh! Anyways keep us updated. If I recall correctly the ER part was the hardest. Also I plan ahead because really I am lazy and want to do the least I can on the day of or leading up. I just made my pie crusts and will be prepping whatever I can this weekend including making Turkey stock for gravy. August Blooms same here with clothes with lil fella, he's wanting to pick his own clothes too. I don't remember DS caring one bit at 3. He's 6 now and picks his own which I let him unless it's not a good weather appropriate choice but the combo sometimes is something else ROTFL. danvers, Taitai yes yes. make the pumpkin cheesecake! Taitai I am trying to think what you can sub pumpkin with? Is there an equivalent squash like butternut? because really that's what the canned ones are. I want to suggest try sweet potato but cream and cream cheese are expensive and so no to experimenting. Anyways danvers LMK if you want the recipe. My sister said FC site has been taken down so no more link to recipe.

danvers I'm doing ok but my autoimmune disease is flaring really bad and I think it is def stress related. I'm in a lot of pain and limping around. 😞 Thankful for an easy week next week and hopefully some time to just rest, since we aren't going anywhere.

Well I am starting to clear out my parents room and I am getting sad...we're not sure when we'll get to see them. The vaccine looks promising though but still it's going to take time to finally make it's way to us civilian muggles. We're hoping to move lil fella outta our room next week so hoping with the long holiday the hubs has and DS is off school too, we can work on that transition. Currently my folks have a queen and it's too big and tall for lil fella to get on himself but he can climb easily onto DS' so we decided to swap them out. We haven't said anything to the boys yet just in case we couldn't plan to have that happen but looks like hubs is ready to kick lil fella outta our room so I still have to pack up some things and we need to put put up blinds which hubs will work on next week. We only have a curtain which will be replaced at a later time as well. In the meantime, I need to sew wall pillows and pillow covers. I am excited and have been bugging hubs that it's time we get our room back to ourselves. I also ran out to curbside pick up some staples at a specialty store including 2 boxes of de Ruitjer chocolate sprinkles! and introduced Hagelslag to the boys! They love it! Hagelslag - Dutch buttered bread with sprinkles. I grew up eating them probably because we were also a Dutch colony. You guys need to try it but you need the good sprinkles like these The store I get them from cost much less. Ouch Amazon.

danvers hubs was just talking about The Boys a few days ago and when he gets lil fella settled hopefully soon, we might try to watch an episode. Will report back! We're so behind on shows it's crazy. We just finished Westworld 2nd season and we think it's dope!

danvers Have you and your H watched Schitt’s Creek yet? It’s so good! The first season starts kind of slow, but then I find it just gets better and better. Love Dan Levy so much. duskymonkey I have seen those De Ruitjer sprinkles at the international/western grocery stores here, so now I am going to pick them up. Do you just sprinkle them on buttered toast? Like regular bread? We can get so many great types of bread from the Japanese bakeries here - we like the milk breads or the Hawaiian bread. Lemme know how I should use these sprinkles and I’m on it! Oh, and I remember haaaaating my HSG too! It was awful! I think I misremembered my hysteroscopy - it was actually the HSG that hurt the most. So painful. CoachTsWife Sorry to hear your autoimmune disease is flaring up. I am sending you lots of rest and healing vibes this next week. Hope you can take it easy and feel better after the Thanksgiving holiday. 💕 codex320 Excited for your FET. Do you have a transfer date yet?

Taitai get it! and if they have others, like fruit flavors those are good too. Boo! I can't get those here just the chocolate ones. You can use them for decorating cookies, cupcakes too so bonus. LOL! Whatever bread would be fine. I grew up eating them on soft white bread. I think the Japanese milk bread will be really good with them. Not toasted, just spread butter on the bread slice and sprinkle them on so they stick to the creamy butter! The boys love them. I failed to mention that it's typical breakfast food. I told them It's a special snack or dessert which they've asked for again today and probably for the next few weeks. Eeek! I should've snagged more. I may not have enough for Christmas cookies. Hope your grandparents are continuing to improve. CoachTsWife thinking of you and your grandma and your mom.

Taitai we did not finish Schitts Creek - I’m glad you said that about Season 1 because we got about halfway through and it was only ok. We will give it a go I think over XMas break. I have kind of gone down the rabbit hole on the royal family after the most recent Crown season so I think I need a new genre least I get too obsessed..

We have school Monday and Tuesday and that’s it! I fully expect to transition to virtual sometime after Thanksgiving when cases rise. No one seems to be “staying home” for Thanksgiving in my class 😫
Us? It’s going to be nice and quiet with all our favorite foods and none of the other nonsense, lots of naps, maybe a walk or two, and online shopping - my kind of Thanksgiving break!
I decided to forgo the pumpkin cheesecake and am settling for pumpkin cream cheese muffins. DD2 will eat them with me so I won’t consume them all solo 😂

danvers I don't really know where you are but I am happy to hear you are keeping safe thus far and even if it's difficult to teach virtually with your own kid in virtual school, it'll take away that constant worry of your health and safety. I dunno?? Gosh! I cannot imagine how you'll cope with doing both. Maybe you feel more confident teaching DD1 being a teacher yourself? DS is on a break this week so I am relieved and confess that he's been allowed to do whatever he wants - mostly with loose limitations but I feel so much less stress with no school this week. ETA. We've watch couple of episodes of The Boys and so far so good! Will be watching.

Well it's a big holiday here for us stateside so is everyone on a scaled down feast? Whatcha doing? Originally I had invited another family - just a retired couple but I rescinded my offer last week after I saw how bad things were looking. I know our risk level is low in comparison to most people but I had to go pick up the Turkey and I know I had to dash to the store to get a few items and with the rise in cases here, I felt I couldn't guarantee that I may not catch it while I was out. Anyways I feel ok and when I went to the store yesterday. It wasn't as crowded as I had expected, maybe because I was there by 730am? So I called the couple to check in on them and asked if they felt comfortable with me dropping off dinner for them tomorrow and they said ok so I'll be making my usual with a much smaller turkey - 12lb and packing portions of the dinner up. Now I am waiting for my pumpkin pie to cool down. Turkey stock is made, part of veg dish done. Tomorrow I just have to make mash potatoes, finish off the veg dish, make corn pudding and roast the turkey so not too much.

Happy Thanksgiving O17! I am thankful for all of you ladies - there is no other group of moms that I’d rather go through a pandemic with. Hoping today finds all of you healthy and enjoying the holiday with your littles. We had our celebration and feast already. So much food. We made the following: -Roast turkey (actually didn’t make this one, we found a place that actually has decent ones! I don’t know how they got butterball turkeys from the USA - since the import of those are banned in this country - but I’m not asking questions!) -stuffing -cornbread with honey butter -green bean casserole -pan seared brussel sprouts -mashed potatoes -Japanese style steamed sweet potatoes (so, so good - duskymonkey - I am sure you know how amazing these are) -orange cranberry relish -pumpkin pie -apple pie -pecan pie -fresh whipped cream We had 11 people over, and I’m just totally, totally stuffed. I only had the pecan pie - couldn’t even bring myself to try the other desserts....ughhhhhhhhhhh We also watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and just enjoyed each other’s company. Wishing I could watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, but I’m so stuffed....I think I’m just going to pass out instead. Happy turkey day everyone! 🦃 🦃

Taitai your food all sounds delicious! I introduced the girls to the parade this morning and they really enjoyed it. Every year I read to my students “Balloons Over Broadway”, a super cute picture book about the inventor of the Macy’s parade balloons. A lot of them have never seen these balloons or floats and I usually have to find short videos every year so they can see just how big the balloon floats usually are. I don’t know if I would ever want to fight the crowds to see the parade in person but it’s such an ingrained tradition for me that I love passing it on to both my own kids and students.

We had the usual suspects except for stuffing ( which I am sads about) for our Thanksgiving feast and the kids announced that it's their favorite holiday. I love it too. The left overs are the best. I spinned out the leftovers into different meals haha! We had bangers and mash last night, I made root veg soup today from the Turkey carcass. Going to make pot pie tomorrow and shepherd's pie to have during the week plus a couple more turkey meals with different veg so I think dinners next week will be pretty much covered. Taitai Yassss! to Japanese sweet potato. I just discovered this summer they sell them at my Whole Foods. I am trying to figure out how to describe it to people. It's like a cross between a sweet potato and yukon gold potato? We let the kids watch the Macy's TGD parade and they were loved it when they saw Snoopy. danvers recommend watching the giant balloons in the comfort of your home and yes to tradition. The crowds are not my cup of tea too. It's no fun being stuck in walls of crowds when you have to go pee...imagine a kid with you. NTY. NYE is even worse, drunk people using dark corners as toilets. Best to have friends who work in TSQ and they can get you tickets so can watch the ball drop from their office window whilst sipping on champagne. Also I need to find that book for DS. I bet he would love it. CoachTsWife thinking of your grandma August Blooms how is it going with you and your holiday decor and did you get that treadmill?

Do you have a transfer date yet? Haven't read in a while. No date yet but depending on pre authorization from insurance we may be able to do something before the end of the year!! Also I had to do a genetic cancer screening first since my first cousin and her mom both have the brca gene. Ughhhhhhh. But my results came back negative. So thankful for that.

We did snacks and appetizers instead of turkey. I know my husband missed having turkey and all the fixings, but I didn't miss it at all. Of course I can't eat half of it due to my dietary restrictions, but he did enjoy the stuff we made. We thoroughly enjoyed being home together and not running from family gathering to family gathering.

My grandma seems to be doing ok, but she just lost another nursing home friend, and this one is likely from covid. I talked to my mom on the phone this morning and she's really worried about grandma (who is her MIL). Grandma has seemed a little confused off and on lately and it really stressed her out having to move rooms and not having all her things. Plus she must have gotten dehydrated because they told mom they gave her IV fluids a couple times. Idk. I'm really worried about her.

duskymonkey I knew you’d be a fan of those Japanese sweet potatoes! They really are the best, and I love how there are stands selling them everywhere in Japan. Your leftover game is A+!!! I thought we were creative with making ramen broth from the turkey carcass, it your creations sound amazing! codex320 Exciting times! Hoping the preauth comes in soon, so you can get an FET date. Sorry to hear about the brca gene for your family members, but I am glad to hear yours was negative. CoachTsWife Sounds like a fun thanksgiving dinner of appetizers- those are always so tasty. I’m sorry to hear about your grandma loosing another friend, as well as her confusion. My grandparents are also very weak, and my grandmother has been displaying more signs of confusion/dementia after contracting COVID. It’s all so sad for this to be happening during the holidays especially. danvers I’m glad that you were able to introduce your girls to the parade this year! I always have fond memories of watching it when I was a kid - especially seeing Santa at the end 😊
