I'm way late but I after watching episode three I'm deep breathing cat waiting for episode 4. I liked the way the made up for baby Yoda eating the eggs. I liked how they explained his weird obsession with not taking off his helmet. I liked the nod to death watch. And if anyone wants to discuss why Snips is one of the best Star Wars characters next to Asajj Ventress, I'm here for it. H is super excited about Ahsoka coming up. He was hoping she would be in ep 3, but was excited for Bo-Katan

I’m regretting watching weekly now because I want mooooore. I enjoyed the action in this episode even though mh kept yelling “Side quest!” And I’m SO glad the Razor Crest is finally fixed up because it was physically painful to look at.

Baby yoda has a name! I'm going to keep calling him baby Yoda though.
We're watching the new episode now.

This weeks was so good! I am glad I caught up. I had missed last weeks because life got in the way.

Spoiler?
I did keep thinking if Baby Yoda was tested by thinking Mando was in danger, we might have seen a really great display of powers.
Also, I was amused that poor traumatized baby is usually hiding his powers - except when a fellow student doesn't want to share cookies. But now I wonder what triggered the healing sequences - wanting to help someone takes precedence over fear? I'm not well versed in SW lore so I always have a million probably obvious questions.

greykitty , I really know very little about SW too. I don't even know why there aren't many jedis left.
I liked this episode, but really, Grogu is the best they could come up with? 😂 Episode 3, Revenge of Sith, shows what happens to the Jedi. If you find yourself interested.

Episode 3, Revenge of Sith, shows what happens to the Jedi. If you find yourself interested. Thank you! But I thought those were the prequels? Jedi still exist in the "original" trilogy, right? Isn't one of them Return of the Jedi? I can't tell you the number of times I've googled "star wars chronology" in an attempt to understand in what order things occurred and how the few things I've seen (Mandalorian, Rogue One). It hurts my brain. So there aren't that many Jedi in the original trilogy, because of what happens in Episode 3. And yes, the last of the original trilogy is Return of the Jedi.

@icedtea I said the same thing to mh about his name! Oh another cutesy little alien with a G name a la Groot. Disappointing. It’s like Mando’s face. Do I really want to see it? Nah. Let the romantic mystery live on! I hope Mando keeps calling him kid.
It was a good episode despite the name disappointment. I think they did a good a job introducing Ahsoka. After seeing this episode it made Bo Katan’s episode feel rushed. But I think I need to rewatch everything in a binge. Maybe I was just too excited to see Starbuck to focus on the plot.
I appreciated the sweet lady outfits during the battle between Ahsoka and the magistrate.

I'm not crazy about Grogu, but hoping it'll grow on me? Lakes, I feel somewhat the same about the 'man of mystery' look for Mando (yeah, I never call him Din, although I like that name better). Then again, I aww'd all over the place when he lifted the helmet in front of the baby. And, realistically? You pay for Pedro Pascal, I suppose we'll want to see his face again down the road. Although he does so much with his voice-overs. I never watched Game of Thrones so he's 'new' to me, but looking forward to WW 84 and what he does with his role. What I love about The Mandalorian is how it drew me in and keeps my attention, even though I can't appreciate all the Easter Eggs and references. I mean, I saw the original trilogy back when, but am just plowing through everything else on Disney+ now. If I had to know the whole Bible, I'd be lost now! It's a heck of a line for the show to tread - keep the knowledgeable fan base appeased, but don't confuse the newbies too much right away - just make them curious. Then again, Jon Favreau should be experienced with that from his MCU life. I think the Disney empire does a good job in general of ensuring movies/shows are understandable to all viewers. Although, when I saw Infinity War with a friend, she did ask where Wonder Woman was....I, and the guy on her other side, whispered quickly 'over with Batman and Supes in the DC Universe'.

@icedtea, do I understand correctly that the 'old' Marvel TV shows were run separately from the MCU, by Marvel Television rather than under Kevin Feige's control, as the new ones will be?
It'll be interesting to see if the Disney+ Marvel shows will be as integrated into the MCU as they've been saying, I think. Although COVID certainly has messed with everyone's schedule and plans!
I have enjoyed Agent Carter, though. Shame that didn't go a little longer.

Has anyone else watched the Mandalorian Disney Gallery episodes? I didn't think Pedro was all that attractive from stills, but after watching those he's somehow improved LOL!

Though Agents of Shield and Agent Carter did have some interaction with the MCU.

Ooo I'll have to investigate this. I especially liked the one where they discuss how they film the Mandalorian - the technology, and the human interaction with it, was really fascinating to me. It's called the Volume, I think. The bar is really set for the Marvel shows - but in hindsight could Disney+ led off with a better show? www.starwars.com/news/the-mandalorian-stagecraft-feature

For those that are confused or looking for some background. I HIGHLY recommend watching the Clone Wars series. Start with the movie and then go into the show. They are both on Disney Plus. Thus season is basically a throw back to that. Rebels is also good and continues Ahsokas story where it left off in Clone Wars.

I'm a little disappointed in the Ahsoka episode. For one, she is not a Jedi. Why? Because she left the Jedi order when they royally fucked her over. She was framed for bombing the Jedi Temple and was thrown out of the order. When the truth was uncovered the Jedi Council was like "oh, sorry, we'll let you back in." She basically said fuck off and left. Which was fan fucking tastic because it was the first time the Jedi Council was called out for being toxic as hell. So when the Mandalorian said she should train him because she's a jedi instead of her looking sadly away and saying "the jedi order fell a long time ago" I wish they had her reference something of what happened above.
Also my eyes rolled out of my fucking head when she did the whole "he has attachments I can't train him" bullshit. We're just going to do this trope for forever and fucking ever in star wars and never get anywhere it seems. It REALLY pisses me off because she personally met and worked with Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger. Kanan was a padawan when the Republic fell and Order 66 killed his master and sent him into hiding. He found the Hera Syndulla and eventually formed the Spectres. Then he found Ezra who was a force sensitive teenager. He had attachments with his parents. Yes, they had died but his love for them and intense desire to see them again at any cost was a huge storyline. It caused him to make really stupid decisions. But you know what? Kanan still trained him. Because why? The damn universe needs trained force sensitive beings to counteract all the evil shit out there.
Oh and I legit screamed when they mentioned Thrawn's name. He is my FAVORITE character in SW. By far. Hands down. So awesome. I might die if they fuck his character up.

*catches up on comments* Did not realize thinking Pedro Pascal is fucking hot would be a UO LOL I want to get there! What have you seen him in? Lol Game of Thrones and Graceland (USA series with Aaron Tveit) were my first big exposures to him. The gif above is from a Netflix movie he did with Oscar Isaac called Triple Frontier (it was good, also has Charlie Hunnam and Ben Affleck). I haven't watched Narcos yet, but it's on the list. He's also in the Kingsmen sequel, and will be in Wonder Woman 1984 but that blond wig they have him in is horrifying

I saw kingsman but did not find him attractive at all in that movie. I actually think that role is one of the blockers for me lol There seems to be a lot of tumblr love for him in Narcos but I haven’t watched.

Maybe he blindfolds her. As long as they don't see his face, he's hasn't broken his code.

Hmmmm I don’t know how I feel about Luke appearing in the Mandalorian but I do like the mock up of Sebastian as Luke that’s in the article. I could see it at least.

I feel like a small cameo can make sense since he's seeking out Jedi, and Luke is like the main Jedi left post empire. But please do not make it the Skywalker Saga all over again.

I think too much Skywalker would be my concern but they’ve done a decent job weaving old and new things together so I don’t think they’d let it go that far. At least I hope not.
