Hi all! So let's learn from the others and share what we know about the more new age leaning side of spirituality. I have been on quite a journey in my life with religion. I don't even know where I fall at this point. I know God is real. That's about all I know for certain. I don't know what religion is right, or that any religion is right. I just know there is a creator. This year I really actually read my Bible and started doing research and I'm just not sure how christian I am anymore. I don't know what is touched and manipulated by man. I am spiritual, I'm just not sure how to channel that anymore. When I was young, I was very enlightened and intuitive. I still am, and quite sensitive to things, but I pushed it away as an adult. I really don't even know where to start. I need help. I want to focus on meditating, and just listening to my instinct. Feeling with my soul and follow that. I'm very interested in the crystal, herb, symbolism side of things. So tell me everything. STP, RunsforWineandCarbs, rosalind

A lot of my knowledge just came from online reading. There's so much out there.
I have also found it helpful to let go of things I "think" I should be doing, but don't serve me. I cannot meditate. It stresses me out. It's just not for me. So I find other rituals that bring me calm.
For me, I like the more "kitchen witch" or home focused practices. I have a few books I really like, even though I'm not personally practicing Wicca.
Arin Murphy-Hiscock has a couple of really great primers on the topic. I recommend them.

I will also add, I don't "believe" in these things in the way that you would a religion. I don't know that there are any truths here.
It's about centering myself in my home and space, finding rituals and things that bring me calm. I am someone who needs my home to be calm and visually catered to my preferences. Cooking and feeding people is my love language.
I guess nourishment is my ultimate goal, in all ways.
I do have some belief in energies, and I think there are a lot of approaches to tapping in to the positive energies that exist naturally.
In terms of my religious beliefs, I am still a Christian. But I am not interested in being a church going one. That is not a practice that serves me.

Like I said, I believe in God and a creator, I just don't do church because it never seems to aline with the bible and therefore I wonder what's been changed there as well. I definitely feel energy is a thing and want to focus on that but not in a worship sense as I still have God for that. I will look into the books you mentioned.

I'm bad at formal meditation. I find it anxiety inducing. When I'm having anxiety I do like to listen to hemi-sync, which is bi-aural meditation music that was introduced to me in grad school by a professor. She basically realized I was a damn mess and tried to help me. This one is my favorite:

I'm here. I would like to learn and listen to others opinions on these topics.
I'm a non practicing catholic. I believe in God and jesus christ.
But I cant pray to them the way my sisters, family or others do. I also have always enjoyed and have been curious with how people use cleansing energy, Crystal's, rituals...
I may not post much if that's ok but I'd like to hear all of your thoughts on this stuff.
