And I'm having a baby!
Weekly check up this morning had me at almost 2cm, 80% effaced, baby at -3. Doc pushed me to 2cm and swept membranes. Consistent, timeable contractions started around 11:30pm and I was admitted to the hospital at 2am dilated 3cm. At the 5am check I was at 6cm. This baby does not play around!

I am in a lot of discomfort right now. My back started killing me about an hour ago out of nowhere, and now I’m having much more uncomfortable BH contractions. I’m at work for another hour so hoping I can just make it through the hour so I can go home and lay down, but man, I feel pretty awful today.

I’m definitely uncomfortable, more so than I have been yet.

I have no idea what that is like and would be very confused still too.

Three kids in and I've still never gone into labor on my own. I have no idea what that is like and would be very confused still too. Four kids, all inductions. Labor never started on its own, water never broke prior to inductions starting. I’m ok with not having had to go through the guessing game! It sounds... stressful. My water has broken everytime and I've ultimately needed to have contractions induced. But both my first and third were small, slow leaks that I questioned all day before going in by evening time 🤷🏻♀️

I've never even had real contractions..I was on full dose pitocin and it was barely doing anything with DS1. Had a c section after trying and failing to go into labor and my BP kept rising. And then I've developed hypertension every time after as well so I've always had a c section. I've had some minor contractions picked up on the monitors this time but they weren't doing anything.

Tell me why we're coming up on 2 hours of being awake and this kid is still wide awake 😴😴😴 The worst. Many sympathies. That's how bedtime goes for us. It take like two hours and multiple rounds of falling asleep at the breast then snapping awake the second he's set into his bassinet. It's driving me bonkers.

My c section is scheduled for Monday. I am so so absolutely ready. I'm miserable. My heart needs me to be done being pregnant.

I do not remember newborns pooping this much. We're at 4 weeks and H still poops 7-8 times a day. I remember being so happy when they stop pooping multiple times overnight!

He was every diaper change for the first couple of weeks. Now he's down to only pooping every few days. FFMOTNC I size up the diaper overnight and only change baby if he poops or is obviously uncomfortable.

Yes, I waited until the nonstop pooping ended, but middle of the night changes are the worst. I avoid them at all costs, lol.

Today is my last ever prenatal appointment. It's with the doc who will do my c section on Monday even though I didn't know that when I made the appointment and almost looked for a different appointment because I don't like male doctors... But it is what it is..as long as he gets her out safely I am okay.

She’s not the awful one I don’t like at least, but I was hopeful I’d have good odds of getting one of the ones I’ve clicked with.

On of my biggest nerves waiting to have my girls was getting the one male doctor at my practice out of the six OBs. I didn't care for him and really did not want him to deliver my girls. My favorite OB ended up delivering DD1. DD2 I started with a doctor I liked a lot then when I needed a csection again there was a shift change and a doctor I had met like only once or twice did my delivery. She was fine, though not my first choice. I had the same nervousness this time around since I only had and saw one OB the whole time. I was dreading her not being who delivered me if I didn't make it to my csection date. Thankfully her 48 on call shift started 10 hours after I triaged in, so I definitely lucked out.

TW - family illness
I delivered just before 9am Saturday. Just before 2am Sunday I got a call that my little brother (25yo) had been in a motorcycle accident and was in ICU. The doctors and nurses were extremely understanding and after making sure that all was well with me and baby, they discharged us around 10:30 Sunday night.
Without going into too many needless details, he's in ICU in stable condition, but he's in a coma and has brain bleeds and brain damage.
Physically, he's otherwise okay and for that I could not be more thankful. He broke his left arm, but the doctors performed surgery yesterday to repair that. He has zero issues with his cervical spine so the neck collar was removed. Both of these things are huge positives in my mind, because doctors wouldn't perform surgery on his arm if they didn't think he had some chance of recovery.
Each day he's starting to exhibit more responses and reflexes. Today, he turned toward our mom and the nurse as they called his name.
It's been an emotional four days, ups and downs, guilt for being happy and guilt for being sad, searching for positives and trying to remain realistic.
If you believe, I would appreciate any prayers, thoughts, vibes, well wishes, or other that you can muster for our family.
