What's everyone doing for Halloween? We are not trick or treating. My 6 year old couldn't care less because he's much more concerned about COVID. And E doesn't remember Halloween from last year so he's good. We are going to decorate Halloween cookies, watch the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, do a candy/toy hunt, order out for dinner, and have one last fire in the fire pit. The boys only know about Charlie Brown, dinner, and fire pit so they should be excited. We were planning to trick or treat with masks on. Our neighborhood is doing cautious TOT and our state and county have some of the lowest transmission numbers in the country. My parents and MIL we're going to come hang out. Buuuuuuuut H just got a covid test because he had a direct exposure on Monday, so we might be doing a whole fuck ton of nothing if he's positive.

My town has only had 8 positives total since March. But we are still being cautious since my mom lives with us. I already feel like we exposing her enough by working and the kids are in school/daycare.

I think we are planning to do basically the same thing we always do, which is to take the kids to my ILs to eat a quick dinner and show off costumes and then back home. We usually hit 3 or 4 houses in the ILs neighborhood and 4 or 5 in ours, but we will probably only do one at the ILs and a couple at ours. Just direct neighbors basically. I'm not sure what we will do other than that. We don't normally get many TOTers either so I might just put some small bags of candy out or something and hope for the best.

We are hopefully painting pumpkins (finally) and then TOTing some of our close neighbors that we have seen recently. Probably ending the night with a happy meal and the Halloween curious George for the 100th time.
We are the youngest family on our street so I’m not expecting many/any TOTers at our house.
They did have a party at daycare today and the cook made spider web pancakes and Jack-o-lantern quesadillas so that was probably a fun treat.

What ride on/bikes/trikes do your 3 year olds like? I’m trying to decide what to get B for his birthday.

What ride on/bikes/trikes do your 3 year olds like? I’m trying to decide what to get B for his birthday. L has ridden DS1's little Thomas the Train bike some but he hasn't quite mastered the pedals so I have to do a lot of pushing him around. Our neighbor's son has a balance bike that he uses all of the time. I want to say that he got it at around two and is 4.5 now and still uses it quite frequently.

We have a strider balance bike. She loves it and is pretty good at it now too!

Jojo turned 3 on Sunday! We got her a new baby doll, a travel bassinet for the doll 🙄 and a game called inch worm which is really great - easy enough to understand for her to follow the rules, and fairly quick for me! From friends and family and got lots of art and craft supplies and my mom already have her a double baby stroller back when she was home sick for a few days.
I'm feeling... exhausted. With FIL passing away and then I was sick and work is busy because someone quit so hiring and filling in the extra work also attempting to plan for a bathroom reno (which should be fun!) and having no breaks from my child aside from that work is 😬🤪😴 I never thought I'd be the parent who says "I haven't had a night without my kids in months (or years)" but here we are and it sucks. I am also feeling stressed out for the election tomorrow and I'm in Canada. So sending hugs to all you nervous people down there for tomorrow and the weeks to come 🤞🤞

Strider bikes are a blessing and a curse! C loves his but he is SO fast on it and can take off down the street in a flash. He doesn’t have the safety sense yet. Ds1 also rode a strider and was able to ride a bike without training wheels when he was 4 which was awesome, but again, he didn’t have the best sense of safety so we had to make sure we were right on him all the time.

What ride on/bikes/trikes do your 3 year olds like? I’m trying to decide what to get B for his birthday. C uses the little radio flyer tricycle right now and is a champ at it. We passed DD1's 12" Raleigh down to her and she understands the concept but her trike pedals backwards and that's the brakes on the bigger bike so she'll do one pedal stroke then smash them backwards and get annoyed when the bike stops.

I think we’re going to do a balance bike for either bday or Christmas. Otherwise playdoh and a new bubble machine are on the list. DS1 (6) wants all things gaming/Mario... he circled basically the whole target catalog (of course I did this too as a kid) 🤣
On prime day I bought the boys tablets and had meant to save them for Christmas gifts but when DS1 went into quarantine I need him to have something to do while I worked- they are pretty awesome and have a lot of good content.
This week is employee appreciation week at work and I’m not sure what to get my employees- I know I’ll do bagels tomorrow morning and then I’m thinking of hitting up the dollar section at target to get them each a little something small. I’ll probably buy everyone lunch one day too- work has been stressful for everyone to say the least.

Hi ladies! I skimmed to catch up.
Neither of my kids ever took to the strider bike I bought second hand (luckily). Maybe because we live on a steep street, so they didn’t get as much opportunity other than bringing it to the park. DS does a little tricycle at home, and when we ride at the park, I got the schwinn push bicycle that we can push and steer him right now while he’s still learning to peddle. Then the handle can be removed and it’s a little bike with training wheels.
I grabbed a second hand scooter for him for Xmas since he’s starting playing with DDs.

Santa is bringing both boys new bikes this year. N learned how to ride his bike without training wheels this summer. We went with a larger one that has a hand break. E has been riding a trike all summer long. Since he is going to be 3.5 before the weather is good enough to ride bikes again, we went with a bike with training wheels. Since E gets all the hand me downs, we wanted to get something brand new for him.

C is 3 today! He also aged out of birth-3 for speech and started his first day with the phonology program through the school district. I was a little worried about dropping him off. He’s never been to daycare or anything, but he walked right in and seemed really excited!

I need to figure out what to do for DD2. We don’t really have a small bike because DD1 was always so tall.

Happy Birthday to everyone! L turns 3 on Monday and is obsessed with Zelda so he is getting a cookie cake with a Zelda shield on it for his big day. That's about as exciting as it's going to get around here lol.

We’re attempting potty training this weekend. He normally doesn’t like even sitting on the potty but today was agreeable to try and even put on real undies. He’s made it to the potty once so 🤞🏻 but I’m not holding my breath lol

My oldest had her birthday this weekend and last week my mom flew out. It was so nice to have a bit of my family after a year. Still makes me nervous with covid, but knock on wood we have no symptoms and my mom isolated before coming so it would just be airplane exposure.
I wish DS was ready forPT. I’m really getting tired of the hiding in a corner to poop phase! 🤣

He is now shutting his bedroom door and yelling at me to go away when I go in there to check on him.

DD2 *thinks* she is ready to poop on the potty. She talks about it every minute she isn't actively pooping. Says she will use the potty. Then when she poops? She poops in her diapers. LIES. She knows what to do, just isn't doing it. This is pretty much exactly where we were with DD1 at the same age. We will keep trying, with as little pressure as possible.

Also, dropping it in here- I'm very newly pregnant! Due in July. Exciting. This kid will be the exact same age gap as we had between DD1 and DD2, and it was PERFECT, so I am hoping this transition is smooth as well.
