Hi.
Hadn’t posted all weekend. Friday was mentally draining and ended with RBG news. We went to Memphis Saturday, but didn’t get to go to the zoo. There was a long ass car line leading up to it and capacity was at 4600+ out of maximum 5000 so we noped right out of that and took the kids to the children’s museum where it was pretty slow.
I’m off today so I need to do some cleaning and laundry. Yay. {insert sarcasm}

Currently working from home while M is doing her math lesson. I'm paying for a babysitter to come at 1 so I can get to the office for a couple hours because I have court tomorrow.

Morning!
Both kids are at school and I'm puttering. The weather is GORGEOUS out.
We have the landscape designer here...we tromped around the yard for a bit and now she is working on some plans for us. I have been looking forward to this day for weeks, I feel like the yard has so much untapped potential.
DH has the next 10 days off for pre-deployment leave so he took the dog to the vet this morning. Apparently she was on her very best behavior and charmed the vet; they said she was in amazing shape for a 9 y.o. lab. She is going to outlive us all, lol.

I’m here doing same old, same old. I had a busy wknd too since didn’t get to pat but think I’ve caught up now. Both kids had soccer games and then we went to my Aunt’s to do an entire extended family pic. My dad didn’t bother showing up so everyone is pissed at him. Then yday was cleaning up around here and watching football.

yummeecookee Boo to your dad, I'm sorry. Is that his normal M.O. or was this unusual?

Rainy and miserable outside. Cadence is on her first zoom break so we're working on her assignments since I work the afternoon shift and won't be here to help her later. My arm is still effed up and I slept like crap. Really hoping the pain subsides soon.

Morning. True monday over here. I’m tired and just had a spat with Dh about the landscaper/construction worker that is supposed to come this week/next week. Dh wants to take the ‘wait until he calls us’ approach, which I find highly annoying. COVID numbers are climbing rapidly, people do not seem to care and my anxiety is up to the roof.
Lots of laundry and other house chores. So yeah Monday.

Morning. I fell back to sleep after H left and didn’t wake up until 15 minutes after preschool time so S skipped school today, whoops. V slept pretty well last night so I don’t know what my deal was. I had all sorts of errand running plans for while S was at school that didn’t happen. I think we might just go after lunch. My friend is doing a favorite things party tomorrow evening and I need to get 2 more things. So far I have a small houseplant. I would bring wine or coffee but it’s with a bunch of Mormons so that’s not gonna work. The weather has very rudely turned back warm, I was all in on fall clothes. It’s supposed to be in the 80s all week. Tonight H has a soccer game at 5:45, cross all the things that dh makes it home in time to go.

Re. My dad, he has been pulling back more and more from the family and it’s very hurtful to all of us. It feels very “old family” vs “new family”. He skips out on more and more events, w lame ass excuses.
The twins are ... idk, tbh, they seem pretty far back developmentally. 2.5 and not talking for example. Maybe being preemies is part of this? They also have no schedule at all, so they can (and do) go to bed at 1am for example. My SM has taken “on demand” feeding and napping to an extreme. I have a lot of concerns.
And several of us in the family think that one may be in need of EI. She seems to have no reaction to any stimulation and appears very “spaced out.” My dad brushes it off as oh she’s just more independent and a loaner, but I’m not sure I agree.
It’s a mess - I’ve barely scratched the surface. Remember when I told you all how I was worried he would not be involved w them - he’s not. And you cannot talk to or reason w his wife. She is in her own world.

trtlcrzy any cosmetic/personal care items you like? I took my lash primer to a Favorite Things party once (you had to bring multiples of the same thing) and that went over well.

I like the idea of a my favorite things party. I've never been to one either. Like flamingo said, I was thinking some sort of beauty product, or a nice lotion or hair product or something. In 2020, maybe even a fun hand sanitizer (I have one that has a grapefruit scent that I like lol).

Everyone brings 3 things, either the same or different things doesn’t matter, and then you explain why they’re your favorite. Then one by one everyone gets to pick something. That’s how it was explained to me, this will be my first FT party. We have a $10 limit.

I was thinking of maybe a nail polish, since I love doing my nails or a mascara. Idk. I need to go to the store for inspiration.

I’m sorry yummeecookee that sounds hard. Is she putting them in preschool? At least the teachers would be able to refer for EI. I’m guessing the wife is the reason they’re skipping out on so much, that’s sad.

They are missing out on so much and I am very worried about their emotional, mental and social development.

yummeecookee I'm sorry about the family stuff, that's weird that neither of them seem worried at all about these things. Just another Monday for me. Except I have a girl issue, so I'm dealing with that. Fortunately I had meds on hand, now I need to call and renew them so I have them on hand for the next time. Getting old is such a bitch...your entire body chemistry changes and things are so out of whack.

I don't think I checked in all weekend. Saturday was busy and we had an 8pm baseball game. But the boys spent both nights at my moms so A and I had alot of much needed time to be alone and reconnect after mj fell asleep. Sunday we went to a pumpkin patch and we all had a blast. We were making dinner after and my mom called and told me my pony died. I knew it was coming but was not prepared for it. I cried for hours and cried myself to sleep. My other pony, her daughter, is grieving and not doing well. She just winnies and snorts and won't leave the barn. My dad buried Misty outside their barn and Stormy just stares at the dirt. Shes never been alone and i need to figure out what to do for her to be happy. My sweet girl the day we got each other at 5 years old.

Morning! We survived the camping trip and actually enjoyed it. I still like cabins better but we had a good time! Too cold to get in the lake, but S had fun feeding the fish and boat riding! yummeecookee I’m sorry about your dad. And I know that must be tough from the outside looking in but not being able to do anything about it.
