DS is on day 3 of distance learning. He’s being really stubborn today. DD is back at school, so the house is quiet. Hoping to get a walk in later. I might drag DS with me.

I am at work today. Gah, one day weekends always just suck the energy out of me. I felt like I barely had time to recover yesterday, it was just busy doing stuff around the house and preparing for another work week. I'm tired. But at least today isn't too busy. So far, anyway.
We have DD1's back to school night zoom tonight. I am glad I saw the email last night, because I had totally forgotten.

I have a woman from our STL office calling me in a few to give me some guidance on a report I need to develop. This is one of my anxiety-inducing things, man. I hate the phone as it is, especially talking to people I don't know.

I’ve got four kids on Zoom classes and two kids on GoNoodle while I finish my coffee. It’s a Monday. I'm glad to see you pop in here more! How are you guys doing? That's even more kids than you usually have, right? lol.

DS is supposed to start school this morning. I’m still waiting on log in information and was sent a vague message last week about “picking up technology” from the school today. Is he given a school laptop? That's what it meant for us. If you already did it, maybe it was just a generic reminder for everyone? Thats what I’m assuming it is. Not every parent needs one so they’re confused if anything else is there that needs picking up. I need one so am going either way. We finally got our passwords a few minutes ago, so it’s just a prolonged start as we’re all learning.

This is somehow so much funnier when you say it. No, I don't know why.

It's definitely a cold. DH said his throat is now sore this morning. It moved into my head today. DD seems back to normal except she's cranky when she wakes up in the morning or after nap so its hard to say, maybe sinus headache for her? It's such a weird feeling to be scared of people knowing i have a cold. I'm terrified my employer will make me quarantine or get a test and quarantine til results. It took normal cold route and I get usually two colds a year with the seasons change so I'm not surprised or anything but God this is weird. Do you get any covid-related pay to stay home and quarantine until you get test results? Or even just sick time? I think I recall you still working in an office- if you suspect covid is possible, I personally think you should refrain from going in, especially if you will be around other people. I know others may disagree with testing for those symptoms, though.

DS's teacher has been booting the couple of kids to the waiting room when they refuse to stay muted and screech through her teaching. It isn't helping. Every day they come back, they start again.

Other viruses still exist. I'm sorry, I'm not going to go get a test for obvious cold symptoms. I will continue on with my current precautions of social distancing, wearing a mask, and washing/germ x. Colds are very common for me at this time of year and I will probably get 1-2 more. I was hoping additional precautions would help but alas. I can't jump to corona with every mild virus. I'm following all requirements and regulations for my job and my area. What you are saying is exactly why covid will continue to spread. Yes, you may have another virus, but you just as easily may have COVID-19 and are willfully going out into the world spreading it. I know it is futile trying to get you to understand this. Hopefully you don’t kill anyone! IMO your last line is out of line. There are plenty of people who have been participating in what some could consider risky behavior on the board and we don’t go around saying hope you don’t kill anyone.

Coronavirus causes a cold in lots of people. You should not be scared that you will be made to quarantine; you should quarantine on your own free will to prevent spreading your cold (coronavirus or other virus) to others. Is that not a thing that people know to do? Other viruses still exist. I'm sorry, I'm not going to go get a test for obvious cold symptoms. I will continue on with my current precautions of social distancing, wearing a mask, and washing/germ x. Colds are very common for me at this time of year and I will probably get 1-2 more. I was hoping additional precautions would help but alas. I can't jump to corona with every mild virus. I'm following all requirements and regulations for my job and my area. If you're around fewer people this year than previous years (as you should be, because covid), you will be less likely to get regular colds. The attitude that people don't think they're sick with mild symptoms is one of the reason it still spreads around. If you were to be working from home, I would tell you that it may not be necessary. But the fact that you work with other people, well... if I were one of your coworkers and you came into work with symptoms and didn't get tested, I wouldn't be happy.

I did it for 1 week when I was quarantining in March and it was impossible. I do have a couple weeks of sick time but I just can't reasonably use it with knowing I may get sick a couple more times this season. We have offices here and do not meet in person at all. I will close my office door, wear a mask as required while walking through the halls, and wash and germ x more frequently than before. I don't have a cough, fever, etc and only slight congestion. I've had a sinus headache more than once a month since Spring and I just can't quarantine for every little sniffle. Its just not possible for us.

And I will say Drs offices in my area are pissed at what’s going on. They can’t keep up because everyone’s allergies/seasonal colds are coming into play and for any illness at all Covid tests are being required for kids in a school or daycare setting.

What ivegotababy said wasn't out of line. It was just the truth. And if I recall correctly, she is a doctor, so.

You have a full couple WEEKS of sick time and you won't use it to go get testing and quarantine until you get the result? I understand it's difficult to do that. But what if you do have covid? Would you feel bad that you went into work? If not, then I guess ignore me.

I just stretched backward over my chair and everything in my upper body popped at the same time. I'll take my Social Security now.

I’m just going to back out of this conversation now before it gets worse. I have my opinions that I think it was a shitty thing to say. others can disagree and that’s fine.

I'm at work. I had a hard time sleeping again so I'm dragging. FX we can get someone out this week to look at the dryer. I should be able to get everything done at my mom's today and still get to pick DS up at the usual time.

Anyone could say it about just about anything. But this doesn't fall into the "whatever is within your comfort zone" criteria. For me. Speaking for myself.

My point in saying that she is a doctor was that I *think* she is an ER doctor, and I think she has said she sees covid patients first hand. If I were her, I would be extremely frustrated with someone having potential symptoms, refusing to get tested, and going into to work around other people. I mean, I *am* frustrated with it.

I probably shouldn’t involve myself but kbw I don’t understand why “doctors offices are pissed”. Like.... this is WHY they exist. Yeah it sucks the stakes are higher this year when it comes to allergies vs cold vs serious virus. But guess what? I’m “pissed” when another person dies in front of me who got exposed unnecessarily (whether it was their doing or not). I’m “pissed” when I’m trying to tell families they have to be ready for their loved one to die and they can’t cope. I’m “pissed” I didn’t get to go see my own grandma one last time because of strict SIP rules. But I don’t let that stop me from continuing on and spreading awareness and giving everything I have. Any MD office that’s “pissed” they’re fielding calls/visits/questions needs to GFTO.

I had that thought too beepers. kbw you are of course entitled to your opinion. I can see why it could be considered shitty. I just don't personally feel that it was over the top to say.

Doctors can day shitty things...... Sure. I don't think what she said was shitty at all. I think I’m just jealous of the olive. She has developed the highly sought after skill of knowing what is and what is not covid without a test. I really wish I could do that.

C ran into the bannister last weekend and got 3 staples in the side of his head. Saturday morning he got the staples out and got a flu shot. Last night he darted behind me while I was cooking spaghetti and touched two fingers on his left hand to the burner. We got it under control and consulted the burn unit, but I am pretty sure CPS is going to visit my house now.
