DD comes home at 7 tonight. It’s been a really long week, and a really tough one for DD. I promised to make her all her favorites for dinner this week.

What a relief, sudsy! Glad it’s not covid. I’ve spent a couple of hours clearing out the flower bed out front. I very much dislike gardening, but it looks so much better. It still needs work but a major improvement for sure.

My dead grandmother wants to send me a holiday gift and I’m tempted to ask for $50 worth it snackity snacks. ...dead? My mom told me my grandmother wants to send a gift and to think of an idea. She’s been dead for 38 years. There is like a family committee and they have membership fees and stuff and send gifts or host events (pre-COVID) and such in my grandmother’s name.

You should go with the snacks.

That is such a cool way to remember a loved one. I dig it!

My dead grandmother wants to send me a holiday gift and I’m tempted to ask for $50 worth it snackity snacks. You don't have to dust it, clean it, find a long term spot for it, or get rid of it one day with a pile of guilt. I'd go with upscale snacks!

I'm feeling kind of down today. I was bummed that I missed my cousins reception due to covid yesterday. H took DD to his parents to help them with some stuff and then a quick trip to Costco. I cried when they left....over not being able to do Sunday errands as a family.

I’m ignoring chores to read in the backyard. It’s really nice out and winter will be upon us soon so I need to soak it up.

Yay!! So glad. But all three times I’ve had strep in the past two or so years all three the rapid came negative and only positive when sent out. So it could be the rapids just aren’t super good at it. My health system cultures every strep test and we are currently in a battle with a major insurance company about paying for it. They say it’s unnecessary. But then I hear anecdotes like this and I’m just like... DD had it one time she couldn't even keep her head up because her throat hurt and it had been going around school. Test came back negative but the urgent care we went to because of course Sunday put her on antibiotics right away because they said they could tell just by looking in her throat. Sure enough Tuesday we got the positive.

I went to Target, Ulta and Kohls for the first time since March. I have decided I hate shopping in store.
Running to Sam's Club now. With work hitting the busy season I need to stock up on stuff for the kiddo and I for lunches.
Kiddo is at his girlfriends softball game(s) so I don't need to worry about feeding him until later.
I have a feeling today will be my last day off of work until mid November. Harvest season sucks with the long hours but the paychecks are worth it. My sister and mom wanted to come along but if I will be surrounded with people and have no time to myself for the foreseeable future I told them no. And didn't feel bad about it.

H and I are going to have drinks and apps on the patio at a restaurant for the first time since March. I’m excited and nervous.

I am dreading the week ahead. Trying not to think about it too much, luckily we’ve had a busy day.

Now I feel crappy with a scratchy throat. Dang
I'm waiting for DD to take a nap and then I wanted a frap from Starbucks for my throat but she's fighting the nap. This weekend was so nice but has been completely shot.

We picked up some books and movies at the library. Now I’m relaxing with a book (DD has a new Shimmer and Shine dvd on). I love lazy Sundays.

My kid lost her glasses at the beach. We just got them like a month ago. We also got the warranty but I doubt it covers loss. Wahhhhhhhhhhh.

We had a lazy morning and found a great spot at the beach. Nobody is here and it’s awesome.

It was the most perfect weather morning so we spent it outside before this tropical storm blows in. Now I’m cozied up in my favorite reading spot waiting on the rain to start here. We got an ever so slight drizzle, but I really just want to light a candle and read while it pours.

And a backup from Zenni lol

If it gets worse, or is unrelenting, I’ll have my typical post-Harvey paranoia.

It feels amazing outside. I sat outside with DS for awhile so he could play with the miniature pumpkins on the porch. He's obsessed with them lol.

We don’t even test for strep here really. Doctor looks in mouth, tonsils are swollen and disgusting, off you go with antibiotics.

DD’s COVID test was negative!! Her strep culture came back positive. So there’s some weird strain of strep going around that the rapid test doesn’t pick up. She needs at least one dose of Amoxi and then she can go back to daycare! Woo hoo! R had strep earlier this summer. I only noticed it because he had a rash and the dr told me to take him in because it was spreading. So we went in and the rapid came back negative and then the culture came back positive. The NP we saw told us that its been going around and that was why she wanted to swab him for strep. I was like but we haven't even left the house hardly!

She works in the billing department working with insurance companies for our hospital here.

Today was race day. R did really good! He got a whole 3 laps in which isn't bad since most in his class only got 4 or 5. He's really starting to get more comfortable with the trails. I can't wait to see what he's able to do next year!

We’re taking our dog to the vet soon. She’s been weird all day, not interested in food or water, anxiously shaking, standing in weird spots staring off at the wall. The vet didn’t want to wait until tomorrow to see her. So now I’m on the verge of tears worried something is really wrong. sudsy, is doggie dementia a thing?
