It’s quiet right now so I’m just trying to catch up on laundry and cleaning. Hoping for a nap this afternoon. Exciting!

Well, as per my post in the randoms thread, I will be pursing a years long dream of owning a vintage GMC motorhome by going to see a very well priced, mechanically sound, well maintained example of this dream that popped up just 15 minutes down the road from me. I have been researching various motorhome options for years and years and been watching both the discussion group and the marketplace group on Facebook for years. I have high hopes for this one, but I'm afraid I'll set myself for disappointment if I get too excited.
In other news, I had to fight my husband harder than any of my children to get him off his toys to help us clean at the designated time this morning. I gave ample warnings, and the kids put away their tablets, grabbed a snack, and were ready to help. My husband (who agreed to this course of action last night) protested and gave me the "I'll be there in 5" garbage that really means at least 20 minutes until I blew up at him while pointing out that the children all complied better than he did and he doesn't get to complain about stuff being out everywhere if he's not willing to help put said stuff away and set a better example for the children in terms of putting things away when you're done with them. I can't be the only force for organization in this house. Stuff doesn't get where it belongs by magic. Sitting around and whining about it doesn't get it put away. Getting off your lazy distracted ass and putting things away gets stuff put away. /rant

A T.rump parade just went by my house so I am channeling my rage into writing letters to voters this morning. I'm on my 4th cup of coffee and just started some laundry. My car battery is dead, again, so I guess I will be home all weekend because MH is on call in his truck - where my emergency starter battery pack is. I went to start it this morning because I realized I haven't driven it anywhere for almost 2 weeks now....this is the second time it has happened this month. I guess I need to add "start car" on my calendar. And maybe get my battery tested too in case it needs replaced.

I just got a message from the guy with the motorhome that I was supposed to go see in an hour, telling me he has two other commitments on the motorhome and it'd be a waste of time to show it to us today, but he'll let me know if they don't go through. Like, wow, dude. We were ready to pay cash today, but wow. I guess it goes back to being a dream. I guess I'll crack open a beer if I'm not going out today.

Soccer games happening this afternoon, so I'm talking the morning to paint R's accent wall. One coat done for the first section.

Creeping by the new house later as they finish painting. Enjoying the cool, crisp Fall air and getting things packed up at the in-laws to move this week!

This is the first day since we moved here that the weather isn’t unbearably hot and humid! It’s so nice. We took a walk, pulled weeds, organized the garage, did laundry, and cleaned.
The kids are doing nap/quiet time now and I’m making more coffee. Not sure what we will do this afternoon.

We were supposed to go to Disney the week after Covid hit. I’d been keeping M’s princess dress for whenever we go, but today I decided it would be fun to do an at home princess makeover. We did dress, hair, nails, makeup, and photo shoot. Now we’re watching Tangled.

Today was kind of a wash. We just chilled, then hubby went to pick up a bookshelf my parents bought for me to turn into a wardrobe for the kids clothes, and now my parents are over for supper. Tomorrow the plan is to go to a farm for open farm day. Market and petting zoo.

Wall painted! Next step is to paint the bed frame a creamy white
ETA: I also added some coral tassel fringe to the curtains. I was hoping they would be a little larger, but it still looks better than before

We were nonstop busy all weekend and I'm exhausted.
We went grocery shopping Saturday morning, made brownies, went to my cousin's to see her new house she just built. Had friends come for a playdate and then we all fell asleep instantly at bedtime.
This morning the kids saw their dad for a playground and picnic at the park while I had brunch with a friend. Then nap and laundry and cleaning for me. Now I'm roasting sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts and carrots for lunches this week.

Yesterday we finally had our first outside family day in months plus it didn't end in a fight between me and MH. Last night I went to a women's event at the church. It was so refreshing to have Bible study and female interaction without kids around. Did I mention there were no kids? We celebrated L's 6th birthday today. She requested a Panera cookie for breakfast then after church to go to a park where she can climb a tree then pizza and cake at home . I sorta miss throwing the big shinding but then again not really. It was freeing to decorate for her "party" to just make her happy instead of wondering if it'll impress my family or friends.

So open farm day was a success as far as Finn was concerned. He looooved seeing all of the animals and getting to pet them. As soon as he got close enough to see them he started singing Old MacDonald. Now I'm seriously considering getting a petting zoo for his birthday next summer lol. It was unfortunately very very busy, and there was a lot of parents not supervising their kids which was annoying. We watched a kid trying to hit the goats with a stick and his parents just walked away... yeah. Definitely took a nap when we got home though!

You did great rugger! I love it! Thanks! R choose the final colors. I prob woulda gone a bit more muted, but that wall already makes the room feel softer. Can't wait for the bed project to happen, 😁

We were at an airbnb house in Delaware over the weekend and it was lovely. The house was great, the beach was windy and a bit chilly, but the kids enjoyed the sand and Nugget went in the water a bit on Friday. I finally got to meet BFF's fiance, who is awesome and fit right in and the kids took really quickly to their bonus auntie. We attempted to catch crabs on a bridge unsuccessfully (but met some nice folks fishing there who showed Nugget some of their crabs they'd caught), ate seafood, got ice cream, relaxed, and just generally had a lovely time. The only difficulty was that C's sleep was crap and thus my sleep was crap, but we managed to sneak in a couple of naps and coffee so I survived. Nugget's already talking about when we can go back.

We had a busy weekend. Saturday the kids had flu shots and then we headed up to grandpa's house so they could ride horses and help with chores. I attended a beautiful tiny wedding in a field. MH was a groomsman. It was nice to get dressed up for the first time in ages.
Sunday we went to a local farm where we saw the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile. G brought his little matchbox weinermobile and was pretty darn excited. The girl working gave them whistles. Yay, thanks. We went for ice cream and fed some ducks. Came home and did some yard work.
It was a good weekend but man am I tired.
