I’m so sorry you’re stuck in this limbo. I just need to get these kids out of the damn house because they’re driving me insane, and I am a good person who refuses to expose people even if hypothetically. Also, it’d be good to know if I need to take off work Monday. Or for 14 days 😭 fingers crossed for early tomorrow you get the result.

sudsy, I missed that the kids were tested. I’m sorry you’re stuck in limbo. Just DD. She had a fever Wednesday-last night late. No other symptoms. Negative strep.

DD & H got home an hour ago from visiting his parents. They left before lunch so I had 7 glorious hours to myself. I got the grocery shopping done and bought some clothes for DD. I still need to take her to Target tomorrow and also get her new sneakers. None of her warmer clothes from earlier this year fit now. I also cleaned the kitchen and finished an audio book.

We had absolutely gorgeous fall weather here today. It made me so happy! We were up early for kids’ games, then did house and yard work while the kids played with the neighbors (my kids are doing in-person school, as are the neighbor kids so we let them play). We cooked dinner and s’mores over the fire pit and now everyone’s tired and taking baths. Fingers crossed for easy bedtimes and then adult-only time🤞🏼

the marriage and age talk in FFFC is so amusing. y'all talking about how you want your kids to wait until 30 got me thinking.. like if DD1 walked in my footsteps i'd be a grandma in 5 years. could you imagine being a grandma at 30 instead of waiting until 30 be even START your family?
YOU GOT ME FUCKED UP. FUCK NAW. luckily i am a prime example for my kids of exactly what. not. to. do.

I’m drinking hot tea and looking for a movie to watch in bed. I was thinking about ordering food but I’m so wiped I might just call it a night.
Back to school has been going well but I’m just so so tired.

Thats all I learned from my mom having me in her 30s.

We had a play date with a set of twins that are in my DS's virtual TK. My husband has been friends with the dad for a long time, but was working, so I popped a tiny edible and shoved down my social anxiety and took the kids to their house. Their playroom is basically the size of our house, so my kids were stoked. These girls have never been to daycare or anything, so were kind of awkward. But dad was cool and it's basically a win-win for all of us...my kids get new toys and their kids learn how to play with kids that are not their twin.
H should be home soon and then I need to finish all of my homework and quizzes for the week...starting school the busiest week of work was rough to say the least. Hopefully if I get done tonight, we can have a beach day tomorrow. It's not necessarily going to be hot, but the main artery into town is closed for two weeks and tourists have slowed down.

We did Tylenol about 3 and over 3 hours later fever is still gone so hopefully it was a random immune spike. 🤞

My friend who is also 38 is a grandma. That just flummoxes me. But she got pregnant when we were 16. Her son was 21 when he had a kid.

I'd be a 36 year old grandma if dd1 follows in my footsteps and I cannot emphasize enough how much I do not want that to happen. Though, I think my MIL might have been 38 when we had DD1.

When I was pregnant with my DS I had a Mexican coworker who brought me tamales and other homemade food every week. It was so amazing and I wish I still worked with her.

sudsy, I’m sorry you’re daughters test results didn’t come in today. I hope she’s feeling better tho. I think for a people name for baby cat you could go with Lawrence. Not sure why but that popped in my head when I saw him. He’s super cute and reminds me of one of mine who came with the name Squeakers. He does squeak tho so he kept the name lol.

ugh DD gets so many sinus infections. I didn't know sinus infections could come with a fever. What other symptoms does your DD get? We have basically low grade (99) fever, so much snot, and general crankiness as of now after lunch/nap. yep...fever with any kind of infection or bug. And sometimes we don't know it's an ear infection until doc confirms it, too. Sorry your little one is uncomfortable. I hope she feels better soon.

When we announced to family we were pregnant with DS1 my grandma freaked out because she thought she was too young to be a great grandma at 70. My great grandfather just laughed because he was 84 and had great great grandchildren.

Man we had a baby whose mom is a chef and on the day of discharge she brought us tamales. I’ve never liked tamales, but my CW and I split them and I took them home. One night DH and I didn’t feel like cooking so we said well might as well eat them and OMFG THEY WERE SO FUCKING DELICIOUS I LOVE TAMALES NOW AND NEED HER IN MY LIFE. So I’m going to keep tabs on her so when her restaurant reopens post covid I can enjoy her delicious cooking again.
Mmmmm tamales.
