I've long given up on my kids with food. Last night dinner was a mini bagel and cream cheese, fruit, and some chips. Basically I feed them lunch every meal. One of them might finally like something and the other won't. It gets so old. I've told them many times "I don't care if you like it or not--that's what's for dinner and if you don't eat it you're not getting anything else." If they won't eat what I cook they get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and thats it.

I mean, I don't cook really obscure things, but I just tell them to eat extra sides/meat/whatever if there is something they don't care for. Speaking of food, we went out last night and ordered raw oysters. B has always loved them but C kind of turned her nose up. Well, she's now a fan. Good news: my kids like oysters. Bad news: my kids like oysters. Less for me and DH, and I see our restaurant tabs climbing

For the most part I don't even serve things to them I know they'll hate (or if it's some veggie dish I'll give them a very small portion and ask them to at least try it and they can have something else). So when they refuse what I have offered them it's usually something they like which it why I basically say take it or leave it since they change what they like every other day.

Cadence will finally eat chicken, but it has to be taken off the bone for her. So like, I can't give her a leg unless I peel all the meat off. Girl is high maintenance. If she refuses an entire meal, then it's pb&j or yogurt. I'm not making her a separate meal. I've found she's more willing to try something if she has helped make it, so I try to involve her in the making process as much as possible. And saying, "you ate it at Grandma's" helps also.

My Thanksgiving sweet potatoes are round slices that sit overnight with orange slices, brown sugar, raisins, and various spices. They are baked the next day and the marshmallows are added twice. The first time they melt and mix with all the juices, and then the second is just a few minutes prior to serving to get the nice browned topping. Now I wish it was Thanksgiving. What!? Yum...

I’m not a huge fan of sweet potatoes, but there’s one restaurant in town that makes them topped with cheese, red Chilli peppers, feta and cilantro, so yummy and one place that serves them with truffle mayo also delicious!
