Help! This evening as I was lounging on our couch, I noticed tiny white bugs crawling on it. And I can't seem to find anything on the internet. They tiny and white...almost like those little white bugs you'll find in your flour...unless they're the same thing? Anyone heard of such a thing? We have a cleaner who comes every other week - though she hasn't come in about a month b/c her mil had covid, so it gets cleaned/fluffed regularly. It's a Pottery Barn couch, if that helps. We ripped the covers off and threw them in the wash. And now I feel gross. Thanks in advance ETA: I had taken out laundry out of the dryer and put them on the couch earlier today. Do I need to go back and wash all that shit? Wash everything?!

Go look at those clothes you folded and inspect them.
Ugh, I'm the worst to ask about this. Not the same, but i saw one bed bug in a hotel and left everything I owned behind but my keys and phone. Hope its nothing too bad.

I just looked that up and the bugs I saw don’t look like that. They look like flour mites? Like they’re whitish gray and super tiny. ::shudder:;

hardlyluck totally understand! So I think they’re baby fleas? If I recall correctly fleas are darker in color, aren’t they? But these are lighter and I saw one jump. We went to the park yesterday and the kids were rolling around in the grass and they were complaining about being itchy on the way home. So I’m wondering if they’re fleas. 😫

There's some white colored mites that can come indoors that are harmless to your family but of course need to be exterminated.
Unfortunately to say bed bug babies are white too. Google says bed bug babies aren't typically visible to the naked eye.
Are you getting bites?
I'd just call an exterminator stat.

Grass can make people itchy cause it can cause microcuts. Fleas are interesting in that there are animal fleas and human fleas and the two don't want the other species, if that makes sense.
I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I hope it gets sorted out fast.

How many bugs are we talking? I once had an outdoor plant that had aphids and I unknowing brought a few into the house (via my clothes after messing with the plant). Is this a possibility?

Oh no I’m sorry I’d be going bananas.
How many? Like two or tons? Could be very baby silverfish (can’t even believe I could type that they’re my second worst bug), but would probably be a few. Don’t know where you live but is it any sort of “season” for any bug type that could have babies?
Aphids from outside is it near a window? Or from the kids rolling in the grass.
Wash in the hottest water ever and about the other laundry look it over only wash it again if you see more.
Do you have a steamer? If so steam the part not in the washer.
Good luck.

It was my car and my coworker thought I was being so ott about the whole thing. 😬 I was like 33 weeks pregnant and not playing with bringing that home with us.

lucylou, canteverremember, Aphids are definitely a possibility...I thought they were green, but Google tells me they can be whitish. Kids could have definitely brought them in from outside, and yes, they are always bringing in and plants and God knows what else from outside. I did wash the couch covers and when we put them back on this morning I didn't see anymore. Soooo...out of sight of mind. I hope.

I would put the cushions in trash bags and put them in the garage if possible. I don’t know what they could be, but we had the flour mites once and I wanted to die. I still remember the horror of cleaning out and throwing away everything in the pantry. Then I had to bleach all the shelves. They came in on a bag is sugar, I think. But they never spread to other parts of the house.

These sound like a common white mite. They are harmless (can add to allergies) and you are likely seeing them simply because your cleaner isn't coming regularly. They do also seem to like humid conditions, so drying out the room can help if it's been damper than usual.
I'd also vacuum your keyboard as these little guys often like hanging out on devices.
