I do not say the “t”. I’m really surprised that the majority say it.

For some annoying reason I think I do both. I do the same thing with caramel and Caribbean, change how I pronounce them depending on the sentence and/or context. Why am I the way I am🤦♀️

I say the t, which is funny because I skip the t sometimes in other words.

My Philadelphia accent says "fuck your consonants."
So, usually off-un.

Off-ten, but really more like off-tin.
Since this always becomes a #regional discussion, I live on Long Island.

Care-ah-mel. What does everyone say for Caribbean? I say care-uh-be-un. I think I say it like car-ih-bea-ahn. Like Bob Marley “in the heart of the Caribbean “ however that pronunciation is spelled. But I think I read or heard that the place is pronounced one way but when describing the people or items from there it’s pronounced the other way. I could be misremembering. Caribbean queen now we are sharing the same dream. I don’t know if it’s right of course but it’s how I usually say it.
