I’m working from home while doing virtual learning today. The piano tuner should be here around lunch time. Fingers crossed he can fix all the sticky keys.

After I dropped the S at school I picked up a yard sign for the dem senate candidate to put in my yard. Now we’re hanging at home. I need to take a shower at some point, but that means V needs to take a nap first. Last night I updated the OS on my iPhone and Apple Watch. I am liking some of the new features.

I haven't done flag football, but would be hesitant in case it creates an interest in the sport. I want to do tennis and maybe golf if mh takes him..we totally missed little league fall sign ups since they apparently we're sent to mh and not both of us. I think I'd pass on bball since indoors and lots of running in close contact.
Lacrosse is huge here, as is the stereotype of laxbros. Mh likely would be heartbroken if he picked that over baseball 😂. N seems to actually be pretty sporty, hoping she gets into sports next year.

Just read the rest of the thread. I have the same concerns about him wanting to continue, as I’m sure he will. This is going to sound very braggy but C is really good at football and it’s been said to him by so many people and they ask him about playing so the seed was planted a while ago. He also loves the sport. I feel like I need to let him try it and take it from there. I am against tackle as well but I’ll deal with that when it comes. Our town is very progressive and they do flag until high school now. I could see an interest is doing it in high school by the time he is in it. If not then we will figure it out from there but the tackle option will be off the table.
This interest could fade too and he will have to make choices. He play baseball and does karate now. He wants to play basketball as soon as we are able. Soccer isn’t his thing but even without that he would need to make decisions on what to continue doing for life balance.

Speaking of your kids names, there is a Clark in S’s preschool class. One of my bff's from college has one, too. I always think of One Fish, Two Fish..."we will take him home, we will call him Clark ... will our mother like him? We don't know." I have never heard that before! C has a Luella (my daughters name for those who may not remember) in his class which he thinks is cool.

wedding that’s cool that they do flag until high school. That’s what I’m scared of for M. I think he is that kid that can be good at anything he plays. He is quite athletic. I just remembered last year he would spend most of the football game with the kickers. I would be A OK with him being a kicker. 😂

You guys, I am aghast at my sister’s school. Her daughter is in 8th grade and is on the HS cheer and dance teams. Sounds like no one wears masks. One of her teammates that’s on both teams tested positive for covid. Dance stopped practice for the time being. Cheer is still having practice, but they are only masking while they are doing jumps and dancing. While stunting there are no masks, which makes a lot of sense because you are literally in each other’s faces. Now she told us they are not wearing masks, practicing for 14 minutes and then taking a social distance break from each other for a couple minutes, rinse and repeat. Because apparently they think that if you’re together less than 15 mins you won’t get it. These people are idiots. So of course now there is a huge outbreak in the HS, cases are in the 100s and climbing, and now they’re going virtual. Also, my sister was never notified by the coach or school that someone in close contact with her daughter tested positive. She’s livid. What a mess.

He showed a lot of promise in baseball (my personal nightmare lol). Basketball, Golf and tennis he really likes. Soccer he was kind of meh on (I’m fine with that 😂 but C is interested so I doubt I’ll completely escape.) wedding I’m glad you chimed in! This league offers flag thru age 17. Youth sports are serious business in our area so I’m glad they have an alternative to tackle. I’m still on the fence but I appreciate everyone’s input!

Hi ladies.
M loves the idea of trying everything under the sun but doesn't really want to stick with anything. Cass is less interested in most activities with the exception of a few but then goes all in. They've had some contact with TKD but most of it is minimal at this age with some bruising being the biggest risk. It's something if they wanted to continue at a higher level I'd entertain for a while but pull the plug if there was risk of more serious injury.

trtlcrzy, *face palm* at that Rona management. Woof. This is why we needed more guidance from a higher level that was science-based. wineallthetime lolz. I was a little weirdo and from about the ages of 3-6 I would no longer respond to my name and insisted that I be called Annie. This was a combo of my love for the movie and a little girl who briefly lived next door with that name. I would get huffy if anyone from my family called me my actual name.

My girls have only tried dance, and now H is in soccer. Neither of them wanted to continue with dance so I didn’t sign them up again. H seems to really like soccer, so I can see her sticking with it. She also really enjoys running so I think she’d like “girls on the run” but I don’t know what age/grade that starts, I should look into it. She’s mentioned wanting to do gymnastics and softball also. I didn’t want to do an indoor sport this winter so that’s why I didn’t sign her up for gymnastics.
ETA: just looked up GOTR and it starts at 3rd grade

Ds just wants to play baseball, for now it’s just swimclass. Hopefully he’ll get his a/b diplomas before baseball season starts up again. He also want to have drum lessons, according to my h (who has been playing drums since he was a boy) it’s better to wait until he’s a little bit older (8/10). We are going to buy him a practice pad for his birthday . Dd just wants to do ballet, all day every day.

trtlcrzy that's nuts, I hope your sister and family are all safe S has tried soccer, T Ball and Tae Kwon Do. He liked them all ok but wasn't super into any of them. I don't think he's the overly athletic type. He seems to enjoy "playground" games more. Like Kickball and things like that. I missed the boat for signing him up for anything for the fall b/c I was dragging my feet as to what to do and then the deadlines passed. Maybe we'll do soccer or T Ball in the fall. He seems to like T Ball better but I'd rather he do soccer lol

flamingo I think my friend that moved to FL lives by you and her boys play flag football. They are 5th and 6th grade though. They love it. We obviously play all the sports but never did football mostly because it’s every day and we are out of days. I’m sitting in the car at soccer practice now. Soccer is not good for head injuries either.

Oh and it’s the first season there will be hitting in hockey for DS and they might not allow it because of Covid. That would be good.

I'm waiting to hear back from our church about basketball.
