Attachment DeletedI made this, blankie/afghan and matching booties I've made a few baby shoes, for people having babies, these are probably the best ones so far. and I like the striped blankie/afghan with the shell edge in opposite colors. What are you making?

I haven't checked in over here in forever. Mowing season means less time for crafting but I made the time for a selfish sew today. Its the calgary cardigan (tunic length standard bands option) by New Horizons Designs in a bamboo Lyrica that is so soft and amazing from Blended Threads Fabric. Hoping to get a chance to wash my hair and take real pics either tomorrow or Friday.

C&p from the wrong post: Finally got H to snap a few pics of me in my cardigan I mad the other day. I've got 2.75 of the family hoodies (4) that I'm making. Just need to put the hood on H's and make mine. I'll get pictures of those when they are all done. I'll probably have my mom snap a corny picture of all 4 of us wearing them together. 🤣

Got the family hoodies done! Same pattern (Summit Peak by New Horizons Designs used Womens, Men's, and kids patterns) for all 4. The boys have camo on the cuffs and waistband where H and I have black there.

Thanks! I have some athletic knit (think yoga pants and workout leggings) in the dryer now to make a second hoodie for me. Gimme allll the hoodies! Honestly, I was down to only having one decent hoodie so I need a few. 🤣 Up next I need to start working on new shirts for me. My goal is to have an entire wardrobe made by me. Well minus pants. I don't think I want to attempt those just yet.

Just need the space and time without the kiddos around.

I feel it gives it a nicer look than seeing the pocket.

To practice sewing, speeding up, slowing down, making corners, and curves, my home ec teacher put old needles in the sewing machines, she made lines, squares and circles and spirals on papers and we practiced sewing on the paper, we couldn't move to fabric until we could keep the holes on the lines of the paper, hit all the corners, and stop at the end of the line. and with different size stitches small and large.

I just bought supplies to make Totoro costumes for my kids for Halloween! DD (almost 5) is going to be big grey Totoro and DS (2) is going to be the blue medium Totoro and I might make a little white Totoro plushie to go with their costumes. Going to do a modified Rad Patterns cosplaysuit 2.0 (basically a comfy baggy onesie) out of fleece. And I got some fabric to make myself a pair of Spotted Lanternfly wings (they're an invasive species in Eastern PA and NJ that got accidentally brought in a few years ago and they are all over the damn place).

Oh I should do that! I have some scrap fabric but other than sewing random scraps together I wasn't sure what to have them do. I also saw where someone on pinterest had kids make their own stuffed animal. Looks like the kids drew a shape on paper, cut out a front and back, then sewed them together and stuffed them. So Naismith a pillow but with curves and not just a square.

I would do stitches with a needle and yarn more like sewing in and out in short sections to put the names on if the space is small. so like each part of a letter is a few stitches | | -----
But if theres enough room in the area where you want to write there are youtube videos for a surface slip stitch with a needle.

So I'm stuck. Lol. I got the toe part done then it says to fasten off. So I did. Up next it goes to the foot and it just says
Round 1: Join MC, chain 3, *then the rest of the stitches*
Uhh so I just continue with my next color or??? This is my first go trying anything quite like this.
*never mind. I'm dumb. MC is main color. 🤦♀️

Dh learned to crochet sort of. He's so tense and likes to wrap the yarn around the hook instead of the hook grabbing the yarn. He made a square and I showed him how to fold it in half, stitch together and make a pocket and he put some manly knot tying needles in it (tools he was going to use to make a fishing net, the things we think of when staying home all the time, lol)
I should get on tapa and show you guys his first crochet project, he was trying to make a circle of orange to turn into a jackolantern. it became a very small hat that wasn't actually round. He put it on a ceramic bird in my house as the bird's halloween/thanksgiving decoration. lol.
