Morning. I’m working from home today. Emma still has the rash and can’t go to DC. A big project just got funded so I will be working on that all day. So what’s going on today ladies?

chrisy01 I hope her rash goes away soon. Does it seem to bother her at all?

Morning! Josie has two extra zoom calls today and it makes the time between feel so rushed. I hope this is not the norm. Also, her teacher sends me her schedule each night, and I hate that it’s inconsistent, and I also hate that I’m checking out an email at nine (if I’m awake). I’m such a planner.
I’m trying to extend every level of grace I have to her because I have never seen teachers so perplexed and I see first hand in mh how challenging this time is, so that’s my one complaint of the day and scene.

So last night we told Cadence that if she doesn't stay in her bed all night then she can't have her "fun tablet"(as opposed to her school tablet) the next day. So last night she stayed in bed and just yelled for me at 11:30 and 5am. I prefer her to just come to my bed over yelling for me until I get my ass up and go to her. Also, 5am? wtf. My alarm goes off at 6:15. I told her to come to my bed since my alarm was about to go off anyway. I start falling back asleep and she yells, "hey! I thought you said your alarm was going to go off. It's been forever!" I am not amused.

Morning.
I’m off today. Went for a workout after dropping off M2. Now I need to make a few stops before going home. There are tons of things I could do when I get home. I don’t feel like doing any of them, but I should. Blah.

Not much going on. In the office today. My boss should be here but he's not.
Maddie was intermittently in a mood yesterday. Last night she helped me bake bread and she was the happiest I've seen in a long time when she kneaded the bread. She went to town on it.

Morning! I put the second coat of paint on in the kids bathroom this morning (well, the shower half) and reinstalled the towel bars, etc. it looks so pretty. Now that the sink area walls are patched and dry I can start that next. C is currently at ballet—Tuesday is her favorite day of the week and she starts bugging me to put her ballet clothes on as soon as she wakes up. After this we’re going to my sister’s to help her pick paint for my nephew’s ‘big boy’ room and the new baby’s nursery

guster, that would drive me absolutely crazy! C's schedule doesn't change so we have been able to get into a routine. I'm curious what other people's days look like so here's ours in case other people are curious too: 9-10, online 10-11, break (outside and snack for us) 11-12, online 12-1, break (lunch and outside) 1-2, online Then he gets some additional assignments like 20min on the reading app, 20min on the math app, ect that we do afternoon) evening.

Random Tuesday vent: the ballet studio specifically asks parents to drop their kid and leave/park elsewhere (not sit in parking spots immediately outside dance studio). When I dropped C off there were FIVE moms parked in front just chilling on their phones, which necessitated me parking way far away and CARRYING C (because ballet shoes). Why can’t ppl follow the rules.

Get some groceries, gas, whatever.

School schedule here is not the same every day. Start time is always the same. But specialists (library, PE, art, music) and small group meetings are only certain days of the week. It's roughly the same minus those extra meetings. I've been leaving it up to the girls and asking them when their next Zoom session is. So far they've been doing pretty good. Maddie missed her first session yesterday but it was for library, which she doesn't like, so I think it was partially intentional. I'm not going to stress about an occasional missed session though because it's going to happen. I figure we just need to put in our best effort.

Yesterday at the end of her last school session, M's teacher let her stay on with a couple other girls to chat. They talked for about an hour then played Roblox together. I was so happy for her to have that connection since she's really missing that was COVID.

And if you want to read or just sit in your car, fine, just move away from the entrance and park somewhere else.

flamingo, we have the same rule. If you are dropping off, they ask that you park in the center lanes and walk your child to the door. If you are picking up, then you park close up. Or maybe it's vice versa, I can't recall. I park further away and walk to the door for both. I have a problem with the parents that drive up and just let their kids out at the door. If it were a quick process, then sure, but it's not. These girls have multiple bags because they are there for hours, so school bag, dance bag, food, water, everything. There is a traffic jamb every day for these parents because they can't be bothered to park. And people can't get into or out of parking spots because they are blocking everything.

Lolz. So apparently Google is having national outages today and school may not work. So many of us thought DL would be the end to bad weather days, but there still are apparently bad tech days. What a mess.

That would be really hard to manage guster. I would hate not knowing the next day schedule, so late the night before. Glad to hear she can go back to DC chrisy01! And boo to running errands/doing chores on your off day lahdeedah.

One of the moms in my neighborhood whose daughter also goes to B’s school, offered to pick B up today. She had a 3rd row in her vehicle and extra booster seats (all of which, I do not). So while I took her up on the offer, I feel bad that I most likely won’t ever be able to repay her. Yes I could help her in a pinch, but otherwise it would be an inconvenience to uninstall C’s car seat and re-install a booster for daughter, on a regular basis.
Anyhow, I’m kinda anxious to see how this goes. I’m not positive that B could spot my neighbor’s car. I told her to look for the other little girl.

Errands done. I got an annoying headache after my workout, which I think was from not having my usual coffee. Made myself a breakfast sandwich and drank my cup of coffee and the headache is magically gone.
Now do I do some cleaning, or sit and finish season 1 of Killing Eve??
Also I will vent... I was pretty glad for MH to finally be back at work after months of being home and the week he goes back after his surgery, he gets let go. So now I don’t get my days off alone. Feels petty to be not happy about that because it’s not his fault, but gah I just need some time to clear my head. No hair pats needed, just needed to get it off my chest.

lahdeedah we all need our downtime. Even though I'm now home all day by myself, I'm working, so I feel like I get no downtime, so I totally get it. When you get used to that space, it's so hard to go back to something else. Netflix and chill, by yourself.

Hi girls. It was around 90f today so I fled to the office. It was sort of nice, I don’t think people realise my leave starts in a little under 4 weeks, because they keep pretending to have all the time in the world when I ask things. Give me an answer yesterday people!!! Do not make me send reminders every week 😣. I’ll be so glad I won’t have to deal with these people for a looooong time.
Since it’s suddenly warm again, I’m taking advantage in the ability to see people outdoors, so I’m meeting a friend tonight for a cheese platter in her garden and another friend tomorrow night, I’m looking forward to it.
