Omg yes to the Mac and cheese theory wedding. Dh does the same thing when I’m around and I Just can’t believe it. H likes oatmeal for breakfast... like instant oatmeal that you add water to. Dh wouldn’t make it for him one morning because he “didn’t know how” I was livid. Like, it doesn’t get any easier and the instructions are on the frickin packet!

Morning. It’s in the 40s today and I’ve been outside working my garage sale since 7am. It’s not as busy as yesterday, but there’s been a steady flow. I’m going to close in a bit until Dh gets home this afternoon. I made some good money yesterday afternoon so hopefully it picks up again later today.
Also... I never want to have another garage sale. Ha!

Can I just say how much I love you ladies. How we all try and help each other out when we can. Last night I call tgrimes to get help with the Motrin/Tylenol weight calculations and she helped me out tremendously. I know that any one of you ladies would be there for me and it means a lot. 🤗

Did I tell y’all about the crappy babysitter we’ve had since I went back to work after the stay at home order was lifted? Well...I have someone else now that is wonderful! Her son is in S’s class. She is so good with S and actually pays attention to her and interacts with her. It’s amazing! At the crappy babysitter she clung to me and didn’t want me to leave at drop off. Then when I would pick her up she instantly would grab her shoes and come to me. At the new babysitter on day 2, she pushed me away and grabbed babysitters hand and asked for cereal. Then at pick up she looks up at me but keeps playing. 😂. This makes my day! The old babysitter I don’t t think interacted with her at all. All she did was watch Netflix all day long every day. And there was sooo much more crap too. I’m just sooo glad to be done with her! Yay!!!! So happy for you and S!!!

A few weeks ago I started reading a new book. I read when I use the elliptical to take my mind off how much I hate it. I got really engrossed in this book, which isn't like what I usually read, but I found myself opting to use the elliptical over going outside, just so I could read. Earlier this week, I finished the book while on the elliptical and quickly checked out the next one, since it's a trilogy (I think, I was sweating too much to see how many were in the set). Anyway, as I'm downloading it, something showed up and I realized the book is a Young Adult book.
Guys, I'm so far from YA, I'm middle aged.
But it's entertaining. If you want something that is an easy read, a mix between The Hunger Games and The Bachelor, find 'The Selection' by Kiera Cass.

LOL mwhip , I love it and can relate. I dont read AT ALL, then I got into the After series then started reading another similar series when After was done. When MH was away I was chatting with my neighbour that I was looking forward to the peace after the kids went down and she was all 'Oh what are you reading'...HA!....I just said, 'oh this new series i started i forget what it's called'...but my goodness that was a close call.

I love a good trilogy series, even young adult ones. Lol. I just finished Where the crawdads sing and need something with more spunk. If I had know how sad that book was going to make me, I probably would have saved it for another time.

lfig that is such great news, so happy you have found someone new that S loves. I was thinking about the sitter situation the other day so glad you have a positive update to share chrisy01 hope E's fever drops soon, glad it is not too high tho. Enjoy the new sofa lahdeedah . That's good that your husband has found some clients and at least that will keep him a bit busy while he looks for something else. eta: Lahdeedah, what did you think of Where the Crawdads Sing? I read it awhile back and everyone was raving about it but I was kind of so-so on it.

Hi and TGIF! DH has the day off so we got breakfast after getting the kids off to school, then I had a hair appt. I ran into my dermatologist PA (that did my botox yesterday, lol) at Nothing Bundt Cakes...we're in a city with a million+ people but it feels like a small town sometime. While I was gone DH replaced the light fixture over the kids vanity. I guess I didn't measure the 'height' of the fixture b/c the new one overlaps the mirror by a smidge, and I'm thinking it's going to drive me nuts. I asked him how challenging it would be to move it up a few inches and he said outside of his 'scope', so to speak. So now trying to decide if it's worth having an electrician come out...I see a $200 light fixture turning into a much bigger bill

yummeecookee I was thinking about 9/11 this morning at preschool drop-off. Sitting there watching all the moms take kids in and the radio station I was listening to had a moment of silence, as it was 8:46 (when plane hit first tower), and I thought 'that's what it must've been like 19 years ago. It's a beautiful day, you go in to do something so normal/routine and you get back in your car and the world has completely turned upside down.'

I read “Crawdads,” itwas fine, it held my attention and was entertaining but I didn’t get all the hype for it. Maybe just bc Reese put it on her Book Club list?

So I was using H's trip tomorrow as an excuse to not go to a baby shower Sunday. It's for one of H's cousins.
Backstory, she ran away from home about 5 years ago, when she was in HS, to be with a boy on the east coast. Her family all knew where she was at, but she just couldn't wait to be with him and left. They ended up engaged, but broke it off. She stayed on the east coast and met another guy, who she is having a baby with. They got married and moved back to the area in the last few months.
H's cousins are having a baby shower for her Sunday. I don't want to go, I told H that. He told me to use his trip as an excuse, even though we both knew he'd be back in plenty of time, so he could watch Evie. Of course, MIL asks last weekend if I'm going to the shower and I said I wasn't sure, it depended on when H gets home. She of course says it's fine if I bring E, to which I say 'well, that's fun.' Evie wouldn't leave my side if I took her, I also don't want to take Evie and have her try to be in the middle of things, I believe the mom to be should get all the attention. Not that E is an attention whore, but I just don't want to take my kid to a baby shower.
Anyway, so H's trip is now cancelled. MIL sends me a text saying she talked to the aunt who the shower is at her house, and she of course, said it's fine if Evie comes, and asks if H is still going. I haven't answered her.
So I really have no good excuse not to go. H understands that I'm not close to this cousin of his, I already sent a gift directly to her weeks ago, and I just don't want to be around a large group of people.

My mom liked it better than I did but neither of us loved it. I felt that way about The Nightingale, too...I had just read All The Light We Cannot See and felt like N'gale was a poor man's version, but almost everyone else I know thought it was amazing and it was on all the celeb book club lists. One from Reese's list that I *did* really like was "The Secrets We Kept"...it's a fictionalized account of the writing of Dr. Zhivago and the CIA's efforts to disseminate it throughout the western world (which really did happen). I feel like we've gotten a lot of WWII-era fiction lately so it was nice to read something from a time period that hasn't been as popular for novelists.

mwhip ugh, that's annoying. Like, please stop removing my roadblocks! Can you just kind of refrain from commenting on your H's trip (or lack thereof) and be like, "Oh that's so nice of Susan to offer, but I think it'd be best if E and I sit this one out. I sent a gift to Janie already and I'm sure its going to be a lovely party!"

I'm just not answering her now, she knows I'm working. And trying to think of an excuse. I will have to admit that H's trip was cancelled, otherwise it will come out one way or another. I think I'll just tell her I already sent a gift, so I'm not really sure if I'm going or not. and be like, leave me alone woman!

lfig I'm so, so, so glad you found a great sitter! Makes me so happy for S. tgrimes et. al. re: men and the mac 'n cheese theory. I swear a lot of men like to be babied and do the helpless act BS. It gets so old. First day of school MH missed something for Cass because he "got locked out" of Google Classroom. *eye roll* I thought if you've been dealing with this shit like I have since MAR you'd have some trouble-shooting skills. I called his ass down yesterday when I was helping M input her work and walked them both through it so there was no excuse for it not to be done the days I'm in the office. We'll see if it actually happens. And oh my gosh your MiL's painting is incredible. Talented and an amazing MiL. mwhip lolz at your young adult reading material. Years ago when I first started using a stairstepper and treadmill I started checking Nancy Drew books out of the local library. I went in order and got quite a bit through. I loved them and the font was bigger than usual books so I could easily read them even with the motion on the machines. I only read when exercising so it motivated me to find out what Nancy was up to next. No shame in that game. Thanks for the reminder about Wild Country. I started it a long time ago and never finished. Need to get back to my OR weirdos.

It's super smoky and gross today. A giant smoke cloud blew in from the coast. These fires are just devastating OR. It's so sad. I read a really depressing article about it last night and had to stop with more coverage.
I'm at my other job and it's been steady. We have a lot to do today but for some reason most of my team is leading a workshop this morning, 1 was assigned to help me but he had to take care of other business, so it's just me seeing everyone who needs medical clearance. Whatever.

I saw Reese Witherspoon may be making it into a movie. That will be interesting.

It will suck to clean in them every so often, but now that we will most likely be selling this house, won’t be my problem for long. Is that an option?
