I didn't realize there were so many OADers until that thread. Please stay. You can snuggle into my bosom.

Do we get a secret handshake?
My DS is almost 5 these days, and I can’t even believe it. When he’s not being sassy and talking back, he’s really a lot of fun.
We don’t have any other good friends with just 1, so I hope that someday we become friends with another OAD family with a kid around the same age.

It seems like absolutely no one here has only one.

DD just turned 5 in August. She’s currently dinosaur obsessed. She loves art, animals and really wants to do sports. She’s a bit desperate for human contact these days and does some really elaborate play with her stuffies— they all have voices and detailed personalities now.

He still loves all his stuffies at 9yo.🖤

DD is 8 and I am now a single mom and I love having so much 1:1 time with her when she's here with me. I have no idea how remote learning is going to go with me working from home full time as well, but I'm definitely glad to only have the one to figure it out for.
Welcome to all of the new posters! ☺️

Hi👋 I have a newly 9 year old going on 18. DS is a ball to be around, funny, quirky, & full of life (& energy!) He's beginning to have his pre-teen moments with the attitude/all about his video games & the computer but it's crazy to me we are halfway to 18!🤯

My baby girl just turned four. Hang on - 😭😭😭😭 - Okay. ::sniff::
She is my most favorite person. In the past few weeks, she has started telling us stories. And knock-knock jokes. And saying “I love you, too.”
We got her a low loft bed with a slide for her birthday and are going to make into a castle with tents. I love learning what she is interested in (pink) and could talk about her imaginary friends all day.
She has some sass and eye rolling going on already. It’s kind of jarring. Lots of feelings (especially about not getting ice cream every night when the truck goes by), but I’ll take all the snuggles. I have so much room for her feelings and shock myself by handling her tantrums with a lot of calm.
We’re going to put her in gymnastics this winter. She just wants to climb, jump, roll, balance and flip all day long. I’m excited to see if she likes it!

Hello! DD is 4. She likes to tell jokes but doesn't understand how to tell a joke yet so she'll say "a cow crossed the road" laugh and go "get it? A cow crossed the road!" I humor her with a laugh. She likes drawing and painting, snuggling, and this is her favorite time of year (autumn/Halloween).

Hi! DS is 18 months and so fun right now, well when he’s not throwing a tantrum anyway. He loves play fetch with our dog, reading books and dancing!

Hi! I have a 6-year-old DS who loves Legos, games (video, board, and card!), and reading. He's one of those kids who likes being around people, so being home has been extra hard on him. Not sure where he got it since H and I aren't super social like that. I'm both glad he's able to go back to school next week and scared AF to send him.

Hey hey! My DS is 5 and starts SK on Thursday, which I am freaking out about.
He is obsessed with golf. He’s constantly practicing his chipping and putting (in my living room), would rather watch the PGA tour than cartoons, and has gotten some pars at our local golf course. It’s wild.

We bought DS a set of clubs. They have a small set of 4 that comes with a bag, driver, iron, wedge, and putter. I think the brand is US Kids Golf or something. They are an awesome starter set!

Hi all! I have a high energy, curious, smart, and funny 20 month old. He loves going on nature walks, inspecting plants, dancing, causing mischief. He's a lot of fun but definitely exhausting.

I'm trying really hard the last few weeks to frame OAD as 'my idea' instead of something only MH wants. Ala fantasizing about alllll the things we could do/have if we don't have another. Nicer house, never have to worry about what I buy when I grocery shop/shop in general, ring upgrade, Disney every year once DS is old enough. It's pretty tempting and without paying another 5 years of FT daycare and our current income all of that would be attainable.

Super late to this party! Welcome new posters. I have an almost 4 year old 😱😭😱😭 who is train obsessed. I have a merchant mariner husband who is gone 2/3 the year so it mostly DS and I.
He’s also into telling jokes. Like dinosaurs but on trains so dinosaurs train is a godsend. His joke is: what does a dinosaur drink with breakfast? Tea Rex

I'm getting pretty firm in my feeling to be done. I still want to wait until DS is 4ish for MH to get snipped. That was our original timeline of either trying or permanent BC move.

Dh isn’t sure but he understands my feelings. I just got a new nexplanon, so in 3 years if we are still done, DH will get snipped!

Hiiiii I really need to come here more frequently!
B will be 9 in January and he's the best and most loving boy. He's obsessed with video games and his iPad, but he's also an exemplary student and is a green belt in karate. We've been debating whether to get him back into soccer or not. Our schedules weren't able to handle both sports in the past, so we'll see.
