Just had my first appointment. Baby is measuring on track and heart rate is 168! My first appointment with DD was at 7 weeks, but I’m 9 weeks today. It really looked like an actual baby instead of just a blob! They did notice a small cyst on the umbilical cord so I go back in a few weeks to repeat the ultrasound to see if it’s resolved. The doctor didn’t seem very concerned, and I’m staying off Google. Otherwise, everything was great!

I'm 13&1 today and I *think* maybe I have turned the corner on my all day sickness. I almost feel normal sometimes. I just need our genetic testing results and then maybe I'll believe this baby is really happening!

I had my genetic testing done on Monday. I’m not sure if I’ll find out the sex of at least one baby if it’s male or both. I’m excited tbough! It gives me something to look forward to. If everything looks good with that test and my first MFM doctor, we will be announcing on social media - although most people who are close to us already know.

I had blood work done today and it included the NIPT genetic screen, so we’ll be finding out if everything’s okay/the sex hopefully in the next 10 days! I’m so so nervous, just generally, but also being pgal I feel extra guarded about all this.
And I had to tell my brother about the baby today- he got engaged last month so they’re trying to pick a date and he asked me if we’d be able to make it for an early April wedding 🤦🏼♀️. Nope! They’re in a different state and I definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable traveling after 35 weeks. Blah.

Question for those who have had the NIPT...do you know about how much you've paid/will pay out of pocket? Of course the cost estimator won't work for me because it claims my insurance info doesn't match the provider, eyeroll. It wouldn't be medically necessary for me because I'm not AMA or high risk otherwise. I will probably call my insurance company but you know, phone anxiety.

Not sure about this most recent one, but for my last pregnancy we got a bill that seemed high (I want to say close to $900), and we did not pay even close to that after the OBs office resubmitted paperwork with our insurance. I’m also not AMA or high risk, but I read over the lab order yesterday and there was a code for “poor obstetric history” (previous miscarriage) that I think gets around the insurance thing. This all might not be helpful to you, ha, but good luck!

I'll have to ask the doc.

Everywhere I’ve read it ranges from $200-900. Depending on what genetics test you got. There are some that are fancier. I think the panorama one is suppose to be the most thorough and expensive. Do you know which one you got? But mine was covered.

Then I’ll yell it to the world. I really am happy. It was hard at first because of the yucks. I still get nauseous but it’s not as intense as it was at first or with my daughter.

I think my office offers the QNatal Advanced.

I think my office offers the QNatal Advanced. I know what you mean. I didn’t get one done with my first so all this is new and had no idea it was done. So I had to call and make sure it was covered. They gave me a number to check. It was the Natera Panorama blood test. It’s suppose to be very thorough. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don’t know. If you have the order code, you can google it and the price should come up. Also, my RE offered to get it done for me at a discount if my doctor didn’t provide it or it was covered.

we opted out of the NIPT and the other genetic tests. my anxiety wouldn't do well with it and we don't have any risk factors so it was the best for us to just decline.
we also haven't decided if we're telling anyone or if we're just gonna show up with a baby.

I also have a 6.5 cm cyst on my ovary. 😬 She said it was quite large but it also means I get extra ultrasounds to keep an eye on it so that’s good!

SO close, I'm 14 weeks on Wednesday. I'm just waiting on my genetic testing results which should be here tomorrow, eep!!
I was told my out of pocket costs for the test will be $299. My asshole insurance company apparently won't pay for it even though I'm AMA.

Well fuck. I suddenly bled through my pants during dinner today. Still actively bleeding and freaking out until I can call the doc in the morning.

Well fuck. I suddenly bled through my pants during dinner today. Still actively bleeding and freaking out until I can call the doc in the morning. That's horrifying to deal with, I hope you're able to get in ASAP. Keep us updated! As an anecdote, with my last pregnancy, I was gaming for a few hours, stood up from my chair, and literally squirted blood a few inches away from me through my underwear. Went to the bathroom, passed a pink eraser sized clot, immediately phoned advice, and went into the ER. Baby was fine and it was a suspected SCH resolving by expulsion.

Still bleeding but it doesn't seem quite as heavy this morning. fingers crossed for a benign cause. i’ve been bleeding quite heavily since 9 weeks and the baby is fine so far. i’m 12 weeks now. i hope it’s the same for you and the bleeding stops ASAP.
