nam2013, oh that's so sad. And I'd absolutely be upset I didn't get a call. Same.

Our school sent out an email asking parents to sign up to be substitute teachers. If I didn’t have 3 different places of employment, I probably would have. I’m sure they need it this year. Yes, I've heard the district north of us is short-handed in terms of both teachers and subs. :/ I've thought about signing up to sub once my kids are both in school full-time. I loved helping out in B's class last year. I plan to sub once all kids are in full day school.

One of my best friends is a teacher and SMIL is a retired teacher who is a substitute. Both of them have told me that there is no need to subs this year. Teachers are not allowed time off. I'm not sure what happens in the event a teacher is sick, but that's what they both said.

I mean, Evie told me a girl in her class was making fun of her name earlier this week and I was about to burn shit to the ground. I thought about emailing her teacher, imagined the conversation I'd have wtih this girls parents. In the end I did nothing because she has to learn to work through stuff like that.
So yes, marks on my child caused by another kid, totally not overreacting.

MH went to his cousin's house after the funeral and is on his way home now. He's going to take C and L fishing and I'm praying A doesn't wake up immediately after and gives me some peace and quiet!

My sofa is finally in. Finally! They can’t deliver it until next Friday, but I’ll take it. New floors, new sofa. Now if I could just find the right stuff to hang on my walls. I’m not great with that stuff.

N is home today for “distance learning” but we haven’t done anything yet. She has 1 worksheet she needs to do and that’s it. They said they are starting slow and will eventually add in more and have online things, but the first week or two are going to be pretty minimal.

Whew busy work day for me, just now getting a chance to read through the daily. Hello from the pick-up line. Cut pics jewels! But no no no to trash raiding bears! I’m sorry about DS nam2013. Poor guy. I would’ve expected some notice from the school also. Fx for no more nosebleeds trtlcrzy. B used to get them bad too. I remember having to be on a 3-way call w her preschool teacher and the Kaiser nurse, on a day when she kept having them. And I was thinking, why am I even on this call- either I need to come get her or the nurse can talk you through this...

nam2013, the school definitely should have informed you! C gets into scraps more than i would like but if there is a mark left on him or his "friend" (it's usually some bs argument or play fighting gone wrong) each parent has to sign an incident report paper. If its a break in the skin they call to let you know what they did for first aid in case we want to pick him up. I'm surprised with how amazing the school sounds that they didn't call you!

wedding as were we. Also Dh and I were talking that if we were on the other side of this we’d want to know too. I mean I want to talk to my kid on how to handle this different next time. ETA and yes the school is amazing, so we didn’t want to make a bigger deal out of it than it needs to be. We just wrote a note asking if the teacher wants to contact us, in which we also stated that we would normally just touch base after school, but that that’s not possible at the moment.

Its been a day. J woke us at 4am, he had vomited in his bed and had a fever. He hit all 3 sheet layers and the comforter. So im washing bed clothes. And my mom threw out her back so im doing her laundry. I had J's preschool orientation at 10 am but since he had vomited and had a fever I went solo. Its definitely a vaccine reaction. His arm is swollen and hot to the touch. I talked to the nurse and she had me mark the swelling so we can see if it gets worse. So far its holding steady.
Then M busted his lip jumping on their cousins trampoline. As I am inspecting his mouth I notice his adult tooth above that damn green tooth is buldging through his gum.. so now if we can't get it out we have to have it pulled.
Now the boys are swimming while I chase mj around the deck.

Plus doctors appts, sick kids or whatever else.

nam2013 I would have absolutely wanted a call about that. peachsmama sorry about your day. I hope you can get M’s tooth to come out ASAP. H ended up getting another bloody nose at recess which got on her new tennis shoes, mask and sweatshirt so I’m doing laundry. I was able to get the blood out of the shoes, thankfully. It’s always worse when it’s dried, it comes out so much better when it’s fresh. I looked at the bump on her gum where her tooth fell out when she got home from school and it looks like it’s just gum tissue so no dentist visit for us. She’s looking real cute with her holey smile. Ugh, I got stung by a Yellowjacket. I know it seems like a nonevent but it’s the first time I’ve ever been stung! Bastard got caught inside my shirt somehow, I didn’t even realize til I felt the horrible pain.

klong11 isn't C in girl scouts? Evie wants to sign up, which im all for, but they need troop leaders and volunteers. Im wondering how much time different troops spend together. Anyone else's girl involved?

I asked my friend who is a teacher again about taking time off, she works for a very small school district so I'm sure that's part of it. But this was her response:
CaresAct gives employees 80 hours paid leave for covid positive or child covid positive. We have little to no subs so we were told to not just use days. No personal days
