She said she plans to keep doing it. She purposefully ignored calls from the school all day. And she may end up getting her way now because the school apparently is working with her to see if they can get a 504 and iep for the kids. Which, if they do need those, then there is a way to go about getting them that isn't abandoning your kids at the school when they aren't supposed to be there. She seems like a real treat. We are all struggling. The entitlement blows my mind. If they need those then she needs to go about getting them in the appropriate manner. Otherwise the school should tell her that her kid is now full time virtual until she's willing to follow the same rules as literally EVERYONE ELSE. 100% agreed. And I don't believe she sent them to school because she thought they needed those services. She just felt her kids should be in school and to hell with everyone else. Such bullshit.

Sigh. My cousins are posting on FB looking for places to go that specifically don't require masks. People in my city's Facebook page are also doing this. No surprise that the worst offender has 3 Trump flags hanging off of her front porch. One that says "Women for Trump."

In a neighboring school district that is doing hybrid apparently a mom dropped her kids off at school even though it was supposed to be their virtual day and refused to come pick them up until the end of the day. She's saying they own their own business and can't afford to have them home or take the time to teach them (which seems debatable considering their multiple vacations, etc). She's a covid denier and instructs her children to defy mask requirements. I have no words. In our school handbook it says that at the end of aftercare if you don't pick up your kid and don't respond CPS will be contacted. I feel like similar could apply here.

The principal had said they would contact DHS and the police but it doesn't sound like they did.

Well our school just announced they will consider having K-5th back in school full time in person in a month if numbers stay less than 9% for the county. I'm not a fan of this. I think the hybrid plan is going well thanks to distancing. So now I guess I need to decide if we want to pull the kids if they decide to do that. So frustrating. Our numbers at our school are good BECAUSE we are doing hybrid. I don't see this going well.

Our state is doing a second round of grants for small businesses. H's business was excluded from the first round but they have expanded the criteria to include more businesses. It's one more thing I need to deal with but we could really use it. Are there other states offering similar financial help for small businesses? The funding is coming out of their share of CARES act money.

Oh STP, I am sorry. Maybe someday I will be allowed to travel the five hours to Chicago without a 14 day quarantine and I can take you out for cocktails and appetizers. Until then, know that I am thinking about you.

I guess I should be happy our county is 7.2%. I almost wish it were higher though to prevent them going back in person full time.

It's one more thing I need to deal with but we could really use it. Are there other states offering similar financial help for small businesses? The funding is coming out of their share of CARES act money. The Ohio Treasurer has proposed that $100 million of the remaining CARES act dollars go towards a reimbursement-based grant for small businesses. Hopefully it sticks.

Welp, I have all the cold symptoms and got tested for all the things. Don't worry, we're keeping my kid home from preschool until I get results back and hopefully it'll be before the end of the weekend.

I'm sure it's just a cold from my kid going back to preschool.

My PCP practice has a separate COVID clinic where the nurse checks you in at your car and then the doctor calls you on the phone to determine if they want you to come in to get checked out further inside a negative pressure exam room. Then back out to the drive-thru swab area. I was pleased with their set up.
