I picked up M's school supplies and textbooks this morning and now I'm at the office.
I am not ready for school to start next week.

Laser hair removal- bikini. A dreadful 10 min every 6 weeks😖 I figured that’s what you meant. I had it done a few years before I had B. zOMG, hurt like a MFer but def worth it! GL! vino had it done, too and she says the same- worth it. Do you still do the maintenance appointments yearly? I started beginning of the year and quarantine messed it up. I basically had to start over because I only had done two treatments, but my med spa credited me two sessions, so that was good.

My brother just texted me a "no-pressure" invite to his wedding. He's getting married the 25th...of this month. He mentioned the date months ago but the last I heard it was on hold due to Covid. Now it's back on but he didn't even give a time. From talking to my mom he has no venue (doing it at a neighborhood park but without anything reserved), no plans for food, reception, nothing. I want to support my brother and go, but I have a virtual training at work I must attend that day (it's virtual so technically I could do a short wedding and still "be there", but I can't take the day off), my family is still being Covid weird so instead of turning it into a weekend in OR it'd be a 3 hour drive one way and then I don't know where we'd stay.
I'm torn. If nothing else I hope he has someone filming it live.

mwhip we used Seesaw in VA and I really liked it. That's fun that you get updates throughout the day. Down here we have several applications, I think the virtual kids are using Schoology which does not seem to be a favorite amongst the parents; we also will use Seesaw a bit, as well as ClassDojo (although that seems to be more behavioral, less academics). lfig Safe travels! Glad you/the mechanic 'caught' the mistake, but sheesh! I'm sorry cagoldi, i know that must feel frustrating and kind of defeating. Hang in there, thinking of you guys.

While C was at ballet I had 45 minutes to grab a few items from Publix and browse my phone in the parking lot, nice little mental break.
DH is currently taking a nap b/c he has watch/duty tonight.
There's probably something I need to be doing so I should go be productive.

Was your job supportive of you having to work from home with school not being in person?

Was your job supportive of you having to work from home with school not being in person? The first 6 weeks are virtual. No one seems to think we'll actually be going back though. Her teacher's exact words were, "I hope I'm wrong, but I'd be surprised if we go back this semester." My boss was fine with me working from home for 6 weeks. I don't know how they'll react if this ends up longer or permanent though.

Ballet season brings a spike in target spending as that is usually where I go “run a quick errand” while waiting for B.

"It's such a hard day." - Caroline, eating an oreo and lying on the sofa. If only every day could be C's version of 'hard'.

You look great nam2013! Sorry for those of you WFH with your kids home/virtual learning. Last week, I told my neighbors, that I was so glad Evie was back in school physically. She needed it so bad socially and I really hope our rates do not increase so we can continue. For both of us. This spring/summer was a test of my patience like no other. And I could still send her to grandparents occasionally!

Kid, you have 2 rooms, your bedroom and a playroom. So many more toys than I had. A swingset, trampoline, tablet, bike, scooter, besides all the bullshit toys. I do not want to hear about it.

mwhip I think you make a good point, this isolation/quarantine thing would probably be even tougher on an only child. At least kids with siblings have each other to play with (although 6 months of it was a lot, lol). I have definitely seen a positive change in B’s mood/attitude since we got down here and he’s been able to play with some friends, and I think the school routine will help with that, too. We’ve definitely had some hairy moments in the last few months 🤪
