Have we seen Maxima lately? Was she the one on vacation? (I have a terrible memory) She had some bikini photos from vacation that I didn’t feel comfortable posting (the seemed really invasive). I’m guessing she’s back home now.

I don’t like Letizia’s shoes with the outfit. Otherwise, I like the ensemble.

I don’t like Letizia’s shoes with the outfit. Otherwise, I like the ensemble. I couldn't decide if it was the shoes or the fact that the pants were wider than I like for ankle length.
I love ankle length pants when they are tight to the ankle

I finally got Finding Freedom from my library and it is awful. It reads very whiny and martyr-y, which I fully put on the authors, but yikes it’s painful to read. The only good thing is I’ve skimmed so much that it’s ending up to be a very quick read

If this was all they wanted to do and they were willing to still work for the Royal family the royal family seriously missed out. I know they are supposed to be non politics etc. but it is time to grow up and realize they have a lot they could do without picking a political stance

Why anyone would begrudge them financial independence is beyond me....even the haters.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Exactly, they're very much "damned if they do, damned if they don't" in this situation. People were hating on them after the house purchase was revealed and it was widely assumed Charles helped them out there financially. I honestly don't get why people hate them so much. I think it would have been more annoying had they done the usual thing and stayed in the royal fold, coasting along and being funded by the taxpayer for little real work. Most people seem to hate Finding Freedom but I find their reactions to what happened with the royal family not defending them with the press to be very normal and relatable. I would have been hurt in their shoes too if my closest blood relations couldn't be bothered to defend me against unjust accusations. I think it's odd that other people expect them to just put up with it and tolerate constant abuse because it benefits his brother and father and the institution.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex visits Thames Valley Air Ambulance at White Waltham Airfield on September 03, 2020 in Maidenhead, England. HRH's visit is to help launch their 21st anniversary celebrations ahead of National Air Ambulance Week.

For me, my dislike of Finding Freedom is much less about how they handled the conflict within the family and much more about how H&M are portrayed throughout the book as completely perfect without a single fault. Of course Meghan had lots of friends in high school and was homecoming queen, but she was far too busy being a star student and in a million clubs to be involved in petty cliques. And of course she joined a sorority in college but only for the charity aspects, she would never be caught out at a bar. And of course she did what she had to as an actress by accepting a role on Deal or No Deal but in her spare time she would read other scripts instead of going out with the other girls. At some point it’s just like come on, no one is that perfect so it makes the whole thing feel unbelievable and contrived. I just think the book would’ve done them more favors if it was a little more balanced. Saying yes, they made these mistakes but they’re still good people instead of making them seem unrealistically perfect and complete victims

So on-brand for them and a great opportunity to expand their reach! Like, “educational and also inspirational” is literally the backbone of all the work they’ve done as a couple and as individuals. ❤️

I mean they have had so much negative about them I don't even care someone wants to write good things about them.
* I have not read the book

I just think the book would’ve done them more favors if it was a little more balanced. Saying yes, they made these mistakes but they’re still good people instead of making them seem unrealistically perfect and complete victims I totally get that perspective! I like her but definitely don’t think she is perfect. I guess I just figured that kind of thing is par for the course with these types of authorized royal biographies. I read one once by Katie Nichols about Kate (who is definitely known as a pro Cambridge journalist). Same type of OTT fawning in there. I think the writers just feel so honored and privileged to have access (and probably motivated to keep it) and that’s why it comes out that way. As for people hating the book, I was referring more to those who think it was petty for them to have authorized it at all and who find their side of the story to be whiny and ridiculous. Of course they are super privileged but I do think it would suck to have the press making up lies about you and your wife daily and not having your brother or father do anything to help when they easily could have. I don’t think that is a small thing that could easily be overlooked, especially when a lot of it was pretty racist in tone.
