Hello strangers! How is everyone? We’ve been enjoying the summer close to home as much as anyone who really hasn’t gone anywhere. We saw my sister and her family for a socially distance visit outside. N was ecstatic to have his cousins to play with.
I found out about 3 weeks ago that we are back to school in person 5 days a week. I have A LOT of feelings about it. Not only do we have 11 pages of guidelines about safety and planning for the year, but I also found out we are responsible for in person and remote teaching. I have absolutely no idea how that will work. We had a bunch of families decide to home school and with the added remote learners we will have a decent decrease of students in the building. I’m still trying to figure out how to teach 6 ft away. We were originally told we couldn’t even touch papers from students for 3 days but luckily they have changed that.
E is such a clown. He’s right on track. His speech is fine and our doctor isn’t concerned. He’s back at daycare and he loves it. He thinks he’s 6 like his brother.
After 7 months home, I go back on Monday. I’m not ready!!!!!!

There are a lot of nights when we just have to feed E or he’d never eat. Like, we put the food on his fork and shovel it in. He’s more than capable but easily distracted.

We are in a bad rut of letting B have the iPad before dinner and it makes it so much slower. I’m assuming screen time will go up this fall when #2 gets here. I’m about to throw in the towel and give him an Apple sauce in the bathtub.

Weekends have been a crap shoot with the move. I feel okay-ish. I’m super swollen but my BP is low so I’m still ok. Mostly just uncomfortable and tired. I’m trying to wrap everything up on the house/nursery/getting ready for #2 before my next appt in 2 weeks. How are you feeling?

Hi all! Just chugging along here doing a hybrid wfh go in the building thing. It's actually a perfect mix to keep me productive. H starts preschool in a couple weeks. I'm 13 weeks and had my NT scan the other day and everything looks good. Also found out my brother got his ex pregnant again. Yes that will be two kids conceived after they broke up in 2018 🤦🏻♀️. Good luck with school sarahandben108! I feel bad for all the teachers that have to find a way to teach with all these new processes and guidelines and kids of their own to worry about.

Hi ladies! Hope you all are doing well!
I’m enjoying my Friday off with the kids at preschool. I haven’t changed their school schedule since I’m only WFH part time, mainly because 4 days is the same price as 5, and I’ve been using my Friday’s to clean the house. Today it was shampooing the carpets and mopping while I wait for cake to bake for cake balls 🙈.
I can’t believe it’s almost sept. Next week is the kids’ last week of the “school year” and dd will start in the PK room. Since reopening, they’ve kept siblings together, so that will be different. So more exposure risk, but knock on wood we haven’t had any cases at the preschool. Our county got off the watch list, so older schools will likely be able to start in person in 2 weeks, so I guess we will see what that does to our county numbers. 🤞🏻 I’m hoping there will be a chance to talk to the PS teacher about DS after the real PS curriculum starts. I’m a little worried about his speech. There are several sounds he still isn’t saying correctly, like S, K, etc. I don’t know if it’s normal or if I’m misremembering DD.
work has been stressful with drama and feeling like the few of us opting for partial WFH instead of FT in the office in July has created favoritism from our office manager. I’m worried about my job. Otherwise we haven’t really done shit since March. No friends, no trips. I miss my family; it’s nearly a year since I’ve been home. We opened up our circle to include ILs and BILs families, so we do pool bbqs every couple of weekends. The kids love seeing cousins.

Oh hi.
Our summer has been a fucking nightmare. I don't know how much I updated here, but C grabbed the moving treadmill belt at the end of June and burned all the skin off her four left fingers. We did six days in the hospital with a skin graft, got MRSA and spent two more days there, then a week later had a second skin graft. Now we're in follow up and extensive OT hell. Her fingers are healing all sorts of contracted and it's a whole thing. It's been two months of crazy with no end in sight.
E starts K in a couple weeks, but they're hybrid so she'll only go two days a week and be remote the other three days. C will stay home all fall too while I'm on leave.
I'm 38+3 and my csection is Wednesday. I'm in pain constantly at this point and just so fucking done with being pregnant. Tomorrow (Saturday) I'll officially be the most pregnant I've ever been and I'm irrationally annoyed about it. I really hoped I'd go early, but it's just not going to happen. My body just does not know how to birth babies.
My only saving grace is that I'm a teacher and don't have to go back. I'll have to go to our in service on Tuesday at this point, but I'm happy I get to avoid the crazy of what teaching will look like and I'm hoping my doctor will write me out for a longer leave because of the pandemic.

Good luck cnf, wow, can't believe baby is so close already! And congrats to all the other preggos and teachers too. Haha, seems like everyone is one or the other. We're good. We moved this weekend, so that's been quite a bit of work. Plus DD is moving from daycare to preschool so lots of changes for her. She loves the new house though and with the exception of her sleeping on her floor at night she's been doing really well. She likes the preschool too!

Hello everyone! Things are going okay here. Ds1 starts first grade on Wednesday and he is 100% in person. Our district highly recommended in-person schooling unless anyone in the family is immunocompromised, which we’re not, and he did horribly with virtual learning last spring, so we are sending him. Of course I feel a little guilty about it so we’ll see how things go. C will still be with my parents or ILs every day. He has started speech therapy and is doing well so far. The boys are at a stage where they are either playing nicely with each other and forming a great brother bond, or they’re fighting mercilessly. They’re exhausting.

pootsen N starts first grade this year too with 100% in person. I’m not exactly excited about it. I would do remote with him if it wasn’t the fact that I’m also 100% I’m person. And add me to the fighting list. Holy crap. Mine are the same with either they are playing wonderfully together or at each other’s throats. Sometimes my H and I have to divide and conquer because they can’t be near each other.

My kids are antagonizing each other too. I think next week will be good for them because they will not be together for 8 hours at school too.

Also, hi, all. I need to check in here more. laurensc927 ahh!! I didn't know you were pregnant, exciting!! I guess it is apt to mention I am getting my IUD out today so we can try for #3. We can't really travel, so why not have another kid? Only partially joking... DD1 started first grade virtually today. The district is entirely virtual, although our county is doing well, and we could potentially open schools as soon as next week. It's just up to the schools to put in their waivers and be up to the guidelines. So we will see, I guess. She is at DCP's 3 days per week, and home with H for 2. So far, it's going okay. She was so excited this morning- she woke up an hour before her alarm (I was in the kitchen getting my coffee ready for work). Plus, she has one very loose top front tooth, so she wanted to show me that, lol.

Let’s say congrats to cnf, who had baby number 3 last night! Ha, yes! He decided not to wait for his csection, thank goodness! My water broke and leaked slowly all day Saturday, but it was so small I wasn't sure it was actually my water, so I went into triage. Sure enough I had ruptured. I was going to ask for my csection, but the midwife who did my triage encouraged me to shoot for a VBAC again, so I did. It was rough, my epidural only worked on my abdomen, literally nowhere else, so of course I had horrible back labor and every contraction radiated down through my cervix, vag, and ass. It was weird and terrible and I felt it all of it the entire time. 24 hours of labor including 3 hours of pushing with essentially no pain meds since my epidural wouldn't take, but I did it! I'm super grateful to not have to do a csection recovery again. This feels so easy comparatively, I only had one very small tear that only needed a few stitches, so my downstairs feels pretty decent all things considered. Mostly my entire upper body is SORE from the hour and half I pushed using the push bar and sheet. Holy workout! Anyways, here's baby!

Hi everyone!
Congratulations to all the preggos on here!!
DS1 starts kindergarten next week- it’s two weeks of hybrid and then hopefully 100% in-person after that. I feel comfortable with the precautions in place and both kids have been doing daycare since all of this started so not much different.

Hello from the land of people in charge pretending we can common sense a virus away as long as we have ICU bed capacity. So there is a wide variety of kids back to learning going on. 1 & 2 are back to fully in school with masks, temp checks, 6’ spacing, hand washing, sanitizer, and an essay worth of guidelines to follow. I’m attempting to be breezy about it, but it is a struggle. 3 is virtual learning, which is helpful and we may extend even if they do go back. I’m just not certain. A is talking up a storm and it throws me off how clear he is sometimes. I said to H, this must be what other parents were always talking about (2 spoke pretty well too, but 3 was around early, so I guess we didn’t have time to be as amazed by it all).
The boys spent nearly all summer outside having adventures. A’s favorites include digging out the dirt around the foundation, climbing the fence to the front yard, so now I’m not as comfortable with just letting them out. The weather is starting to have some cooler days, I love being able to open the house up again and going out with them for longer stretches.
