Hi all
So I see on Pinterest people washing their brooms. Do any of you do this? Is this a real thing or Pinterest stuff? Seems logical but does it dry fast? I think brooms are fairly inexpensive right? Just replace it?
Also I saw it said to once a month sprinkle baking soda and a tablespoon of fabric softener on the mattress leave it then vacuum.
Is there powdered fabric softener or is it calling for liquid ?
Sorry I’m trying to distract from shopping and figured I’d clean some more.
Thanks!

My whole house is carpeted except the bathrooms and kitchen. I hate it. So, instead of a broom, I just vacuum the areas.
For mattresses I use baking soda then vacuum.

Never have I ever washed a broom.
However, I do have a “clean” broom and a “yucky” broom. The latter is used for woodland creatures my beast of a cat brings in almost daily.
For mattresses I use vinegar in a spray bottle, sprinkle baking soda that has EO (citrus usually) then vacuum once dry.

Update I did not clean the broom. I just vacuum the hardwood and use the broom here and there mostly in the kitchen only.
I did fall for the “save your back while cleaning the tub” hack and bought a stiff bristle broom that was supposed to allow me to scrub the tub without breaking my back (I have an back injury from a motor vehicle accident and can’t scrub without killing it) and it didn’t work. At all. To be scrubbing standing up didn’t use enough pressure to actually scrub and if I took the long handle off and scrubbed just with the broom part I was breaking my back again.
So that was a let down.

So that was a let down. Ive used a long handled clean toilet bowl brush with ok results in the tub. I have a long handled duster that has a removable microfiber thick cover that isnt bad to use. But with long handled scrubbers you cant apply as much force, so you have to use harsher cleaners and clean more often so soap scum etc doesnt build up.

I have a long handled scrubber too. I am just scared to fall in. I am already top heavy.
