Age- 8 weeks The Good - V is sleeping longer stretches and is starting to form a bit of a schedule/routine. This cute baby is getting so big already. The Bad - time is going too fast. I was having some side effects from my Zoloft so my OB told me to cut my dose in half...which I started last night and is probably going to lead to 2 weeks of withdrawal symptoms. I’m spotting, which happened with both of my other babies so it shouldn’t last long. Next week is my last week of Mat leave. Milestones - Appointments - next Monday To Do List - work on putting V down drowsy but awake. Teach DH how to use the bottle warmer. Start pumping a few times, I already have a little stash because of the hakaa. Get my diet under control and actually start exercising. Pic - DD1 and V this morning

Age- will be 3 months on Saturday The Good - sleep is pretty great. G is adorable and happy and loveable. He is constantly smiling and talking to us. Big brothers still adore him. My heart is happy. The Bad - I'm pretty exhausted even though he's sleeping, so that's annoying. And the gas. I feel so bad for him when he struggles with it. Milestones - Appointments - Dr tomorrow To Do List - wash and sort the 3-6 month stuff because all of his pajamas and pants are suddenly too short. Pic - G and DS1

Age - turned 3 months on Saturday The good - baby Ben started at our in home daycare and seems to like it. Our daycare provider, who by now feels like a surrogate grandma, says he’s doing well and enjoys being around the other few kids there. It has been pretty amazing to get to do things like work, exercise, and eat lunch uninterrupted. And baby is only one block away, so I’ve been picking him up a little early. DS2 (3) started preschool yesterday too and loves it. He asked if he can go twice tomorrow Baby continues to sleep well. The bad - I hate pumping. I’m really only doing it during the day for comfort - I’m fine with baby getting some formula during the day and me BFing just when I’m with him. We’re only on day 2 of virtual school for the older kids and I’m already over it, despite having a really good situation with our ‘pod.’ Our county just came off the state watch list, so theoretically we could have some sort of in person school as soon as 9/1. We’ll see. To do - like danib, find and wash 3-6 month clothes. Finish cleaning up my home office so I feel more organized to start back full-time on Thursday. Pic - I’ll follow the theme of older sibling and baby. DS1 and DS3.

Age- 2 months
The Good - my breastmilk supply came back. Even with pumping every 3 hours in the hospital, I was so sick it had completely tanked to where I was getting maybe 1/2oz total. But we’re back to fully breastfed and I’m pumping in the morning to build my freezer stash again.
The Bad - she is so fussy in the evenings and even with me rocking/holding/nursing her she cries herself to sleep. It makes me so sad.
Milestones - 2 months! She weighs almost 11lbs. I had to pack up her newborn clothes yesterday and it made me so sad.
Appointments - She just had her 2 month
To Do List - Not much. I need to sort through more clothes people have bought but it’s bigger sizes so it’s not immediately necessary. Get healthy too. I’m still struggling with my left lung.

Age- 18 weeks/4 months
The Good - They are still just great babies. Not much new but they are wonderful little smiley faces.
The Bad - Nothing really? IDK they are just in a normal routine right now.
Milestones - We had their 4 month appt on Monday and the pedi gave the green light to start some solids if we want. I am going to get some frozen fruit to make some puree to try this week.
Appointments - Next Monday, H has his neuro appt for helmet measurements.
To Do List - Nothing really...

Age- 12 weeks The Good - not too much has changed. Still pretty much over the fussy phase. He’s still smiling and talking a lot more. The Bad - the past couple nights he’s woken up more. I think he’s outgrowing the swaddle. I think I’ll try the arms up one we have again tonight and then I guess we need to order the zippadee one. Milestones - he seems to be sitting up much better. Obviously not on his own but he’s holding himself up so well when I’ve got him sitting in my lap. Appointments - nada yet To Do List - dear lord someone help me get rid of all this newborn stuff 😅 I still just have it piled up in my closet. Pic - I’ll go along with the sibling theme

Age - 11 weeks The Good - He's so smiley and happy in the mornings. He also had a good stroller walk with DH last week, so there's hope that he'll be ok with it (DD loved it and DS1 hated it). The Bad - I had to go back to work today. He was exhausted when he got home from daycare and I'm nervous about how sleep is going to go tonight. Milestones - First day of daycare? Appointments - Nothing until October (that I need to schedule). To Do List - Make it through the rest of the week at work. They were completely unprepared for my return - I don't even have a work computer right now. Pic -

Sorry I haven’t checked in in a couple weeks. Even though the older boys started school/preschool, it feels like I have even less time for some reason. Age- 8 weeks
The Good - the last 2 nights, we’ve gotten 6 hour stretches. It had been rough for awhile and this came out of nowhere so I’m really excited. D is still the sweetest. So chill.
The Bad - he spits up A LOT. I would call him a happy spitter because he doesn’t cry and is gaining weight but he spits up probably 3x per feeding even if it’s like an hour later. So many wardrobe changes for both of us.
Milestones -a lot of smiles now and getting more vocal
Appointments -none
To Do List - tons to do but none of it is really newborn specific

My hair is starting to shed. I can’t wait till this phase of pp life is over. I swear you could make a wig out of how much hair comes out of my head. Also, with DD2 my eyelashes shedded quite a bit. It was very alarming but apparently is normal. They did eventually grow back to their normal fullness.

Much easier to manage handfuls of short hair falling out and it doesn't look as obvious when it things.

I always shed a whole bunch during the 3rd tri, so I'm super thankful I don't have to deal with it pp. My doctor said it was normal because I was so worried about the amount of hair I was losing last time.

I feel like I have been shedding forever. It’s gotten less, but I just want it to be normal again. It takes forever to wash, dry, and brush my hair because I have to take time to collect all the hair. And there is almost always a piece of hair in T’s little hand.

Omg I am constantly pulling hairs off of Milo. I get paranoid about them wrapping around his fingers or toes so I’m constantly checking. I don’t feel like I’m shedding too much until I realize how often I’m just pulling hairs off of this poor boy, lol

My shedding is also insane. To the point that I googled when this phase is supposed to end lol. Everything I read says it peaks between 4-6 months pp so at least I should be on the backslide sooner than later. I had no PP hair loss the first time.

I haven’t started shedding yet - it usually happens for me when I stop BFing? It’s weird.

Mine typically starts around 2 months pp and calms down around 9 months. With DS1 I had like a receding hairline and pretty close to a bald spot. The regrowth was horrendous. Luckily it wasn't half as bad on DS2. Hopefully this time is sensible as well, but it's coming out by the handful.

I’m just 2 months pp so I’m just starting. It usually slows down/ goes back to a normal amount of hair loss around 6 months pp for me.
When do babies start laughing?

I'm pretty sure N is trying to figure out how to laugh now at around 2.5 months old. He has this weird chuckle sound he makes when he's smiling that makes me think he's laughing. I could also be wrong. I'm also a person who can't tell the difference between a hungry and sleepy cry like every single baby book says moms can do.

G has been doing what is basically a "silent laugh" for a few weeks and just a few days ago had his first out loud laugh. It was only for a second then went back to silent again, and has only done it twice so far. Just turned 3 months. Real big belly laughs come around 4-5 months if I'm remembering correctly.
