Age- 11+ weeks
The Good - sleep is finally (mostly) back to normal since his immunizations. He's such a sweet boy and always smiles/laughs at his brothers and mimics smiles and sounds when you talk to him. He's enjoying playingg more, talks to his mobile (on his swing) and even enjoys his bath now.
The Bad - he is just so so so gassy. And lately he's having a harder time actually getting it out. He very clearly gets pains and there is no soothing him until he either gets it out or cries himself to sleep. I really hope we get our appointment for his tongue tie soon and that it makes a difference.
Milestones - he doesn't do well with tummy time. He either just lies there doing nothing (like just licking his hand or something like that) or freaks out crying and pushing himself off the mat with his legs. His bum ends up raised as he's pushing with his feet, but he doesn't lift his chest at all. I know his neck is strong from when I hold him upright, but he won't use his arms and push his chest up when on his stomach. I could be misremembering, but I'm pretty certain he should be doing that by now.
Appointments - well-check with our doctor next week. He'll get weighed and I'll mention the referral again for her to check on. Also going to ask her to check his hernia again as I'm wondering if that has anything to do with him not lifting his chest (hernia is up really high in his abdomen).
To Do List - get newborn clothes sold. Start sorting/washing 3-6 month stuff as he'll be in that within the month I'm guessing.

danib poor guy. Have you been doing gas massages or gas drops? I hate seeing them in pain like that. When I’m doing tummy time, I like to kind of put their arms under them so that it’s easier for them to push up at first. The arms go out to the side pretty quickly but at least that gets them started.

Age - 10 weeks
The Good - He's having a little more happy time when he's awake during the day. It used to just be in the morning when he first woke up, but now I get glimpses in the afternoons too.
The Bad - I shouldn't have talked about his nighttime sleep because it has been awful for the last few nights. I'm assuming it's because of his shots last Friday and that it may get better soon.
Milestones - I can leave him awake in the swing for slightly longer stretches to get stuff done.
Appointments - Nothing until 4 months (that I need to schedule).
To Do List - Don't freak out over the fact that this is my last full week of leave and that he's going to daycare.

danib I hope getting his tie revised helps with the gas. I know it was a good help over here in the last few weeks.

txaggie08 we had a solid 2 weeks of messed up nighttime sleep after G's immunizations. It seems to be back to normal now thankfully.

Then one of my local mom friends who has a 6 month old was like 'oh we were weeks getting back to normal'. I don't know if my older kids weren't actually as bad, or if I just blocked it from my memory haha

It's that selective memory that makes us think it wasn't that bad so we have another kid! 😂

Age- 7 weeks
The Good - my pp bleeding finally stopped last week. V is much more awake and aware. She’s so smiley. She’s tolerating the swing for longer stretches of time and has fallen asleep in there a few times. She’s starting to get chubby thighs, my fave.
The Bad - I should have never said anything about her sleep because I only ever got 2 long stretches, since then we’re back at 2-3 hours. V is very congested and hates getting her nose sucked out.
Milestones -
Appointments - nothing for a couple weeks
To Do List - nothing I can specifically think of

Age - Ben will be 3 months on Saturday (the same day DD - my oldest - turns 8) Good - great family trip last week and baby slept amazingly well - 10+ hours straight a few of the nights. But now that we’re back at home he’s back to his one wake up. He’s very social and I love having ‘conversations’ with him cooing back at me. Bad - still hates car seat but does better if I sit next to him and socialize. Of course for most of our car time I can’t do that because I have to drive. Milestones - starts daycare Monday I know he’ll do ok taking bottles because I give him one daily, but he’s not a great napper and has trouble putting himself to sleep, so I’m worried about how that will go. I start back full time remotely on Thursday. To do - a bazillion things to get ready for Monday. Virtual school/our pod starts for the big kids since we have no in person option (1st and 3rd), DS2 starts preschool, and baby starts daycare. Baby pic:

Age- 17 weeks
The Good - I am so happy to be back at work. It's weird being WFH 100% of the time but I feel much better mentally now. The babies are still just as happy and smiley and good sleepers as ever. They officially moved into their own room over the weekend which was so weird and kind of sad but we are all definitely sleeping better. Now the next step will be moving them from the SNOOs to their cribs eventually lol.
The Bad - They both have dry itchy scalps, and using Aquaphor definitely helps, along with baby oil brushed in before bath, but I feel bad making their hair all goopy during the day lol.
Milestones - They are getting much better with tummy time. H is close to rolling back to tummy while he naps in his crib. Their head/neck control is super good.
Appointments - 4 month appt on Monday; H's neuro appt for his helmet on the 24th.
To Do List - eh...

PDQ. My little smiley babies. I can't with their smiles most of the time.

Age- 11 weeks The Good - he’s becoming a much happier baby. We still have fussy moments but overall it’s gotten so much better. I’ve gotten a lot more throughout the day (still not as much as I need but progress!), because he’ll actually let me put him down for longer bits of time. I love listening to him babble away. He does pretty good for tummy time. He’s totally content to just lay there sucking on his hand making noises so I don’t know if that’s good but he’s not angry, lol. Oh he’s in the crib now and the bassinet is up and ready to sell 👍 the transition wasn’t bad, probably because he is still in our room, ha. The Bad - still doing most naps on me. I’ve gotten a few here and there in the crib but in order for him to get a nice long nap I just give in, as I’m doing now Milestones - I don’t think we’ve had any major ones this week Appointments - not til October To Do List - get rid of his NB clothes, wash his newborn cloth diapers and get them ready to sell, work more on napping in the crib Pic -

Age- 2.5 months
The Good - She’s been only waking up once a night usually! She is spitting up less since I eliminated soy in addition to dairy.
The Bad - I go back to work next week. I never wanted to be a SAHM until now. Usually by this time I’m looking forward to going back.
Milestones - I’ve put her down a few times awake and she’s fallen asleep on her own. Tummy time is almost always a disaster. Usually she spits up and then gets it all over.
Appointments - none until 4 months
To Do List - go back to work next week and survive!

Age- 3.5 months
The Good - he’s been taking some naps in the bassinet up to 45 minutes! My 6 yo was making T laugh and laugh the other day and my heart just about exploded. My mom is planning to visit for the first time next week! (She lives in the states and we had to figure out crossing the border and quarantining). Although we live far away from each other, this is the longest she hasn’t seen my family and it is killing her and is that she hasn’t met her grandson yet.
The Bad - Sleep. Not awful, as he sleeps at night in his bassinet and goes down pretty easy but I nurse to sleep or rock to sleep. He has no ability to put himself to sleep. He also wakes 2-3 times a night. I’m going to make a thread.
Milestones - since I said it last time, he has stopped rolling. So waiting for that to reappear.
Appointments - 4 month appt and vaccines next week. Awaiting urology consult.
To Do List -

sdlaura someone I follow on IG keeps a portable sound machine on the car seat and it helps calm her son. I want to try that for V. If the big kids talk to the baby does that help him to not fuss? willow you should try the mustela newborn foam shampoo. It helps get all the flakes off. I also use a special brush in the bath for V’s scalp.
