The wife of a former coworker just shared on FB that that video of America’s Frontline Doctors was still on a different website. How can anyone believe this shit? This was what she wrote. Her husband (my former coworker) seems normal enough, so I’m just stumped. “I finally watched the viral video of these doctors speaking up about what they have personally seen regarding covid. Had to look it up on bitchute.com because it had been taken down from FB, YouTube & Twitter. That’s how you know it’s good! 😂 if you want to check out the video just go to bitchute.com and search for “America’s Frontline Doctors”. The message was so hopeful it’s a shame they are being censored. Also here’s the transcript: covidtruth.info/americas-frontline-doctors-scotus-press-conference-transcript/“I commented with the list of crazy claims that doctor has made, and said she shouldn’t be sharing that misinformation. “That’s how you know it’s good!”? Is she from the alternate universe? She has kind of... IDK, gone off the deep end of the religious spectrum over the last couple years, I think. Like, would not be surprised if she bought into this lady's demon sex ideas. It makes me question my former coworker. He does what I do for a living and I have to believe he knows covid is real and dangerous?!

Last night my school district sent out a message that they will no longer be offering in-person at the start of the school year (August 15). Out of the 12000 kids in the district 8000 chose in-person. Due to the rate in our areas (our zips range from 3.6-10.2% positivity) they determined they cannot open. I assume a bunch of parents are shitting bricks right now.

I haven’t gone to the cafeteria at work in ages. I came the other day and it was basically empty. I’m here now and it’s fucking packed. They have stickers on the floor like “stand here” for social distancing... I’m keeping my distance and I fit. Around and the chick behind me is RIGHT FUCKING THERE. OMFG BACK IT UP LADY WTFFFFFD

I can't remember if I followed up on the band thing, but we let SD do marching band camp. They're split into sections indoors, and drumline is wearing masks. We had the parent meeting last night, and I would be really shocked if we have any contests this year. Half of the ones they usually attend have already been cancelled. It still makes me nervous AF, but they're able to distance better there than they will be when they're actually in a classroom in a few weeks.

My husband reminded me that the week of March 9th I said something like, “Yeah I’m starting to worry a little bit- they SHUT DOWN ITALY for THREE WEEKS! Can you even believe that? An entire country shut down and having to stay in their house?”
Lol me.

I think the dumbest thing I thought in March was that we'd be going on vacation to Cancun in June. I remember laughing when, at the end of March, my H's aunt and Uncle said they wouldn't be coming to Mother's Day brunch that we host every year. Now we are discussing Christmas will be like...

I just did the math and we spent over 1400 on covid tests in July. So. I’m hoping we have a less eventful August. 🤞🏼

My son broke down crying this morning, begging me to take him to daycare. I don't know what we're going to do. Schools will be opening here in a few weeks and we have to choose this week whether we do inperson or remote, but if we do inperson they're only wearing masks while in transit to class, not in the classrooms.

So will they let your kid wear a mask if he wants to? Does he wear a mask alright without issue? If so, one mask wearing kid is better than none. Maybe you could send him if he agrees to wear a mask all day? Finding a balance that helps the kids mental health is important, too.

Up until last week, DS had a temp check every morning before entry into his summer care. But then the nurse said she was told to stop doing that, that she was never supposed to do it in the first place.
So there's still a nurse sitting at the check in desk, we verbally certify that DS has no symptoms, and off he goes.
I don't understand the reason why temp checks aren't part of the screening anymore. but ::shrug::

Our school board officially voted on a hybrid. So my kids will be in school W/F and every other M. Masks required. I think I'm okay with this.
I do appreciate the larger districts basically giving the middle finger to the governor and refusing to have on site school. Amazing.

drr Now I want to get H tested again to see if he’s still +. He was acutely I’ll in the same time frame. I also wish we’d have tested the boys for active virus instead of just antibodies. I wanted to re-test DS2 but I didn’t want to traumatize him all over again just for my own curiosity. I’m happy I’m not in a clinical setting now but also limited access to the information coming out is frustrating. Are you doing antibody tests as well? ETA let me know if you want me to poof anything that pertains to you and your family’s health. I've been consistently testing positive for PCR, but negative for antibodies (not surprising knowing my medical history). My son only recently started testing negative for the PCR, but has been consistently positive on the antibody test. There are many people who will test pos-neg-pos-neg with varying degrees, but even after a few negative tests might test positive. This is NOT indicative of a reinfection, but identifying viral fragments. I know someone who was positive in March sick. End of April better and tested negative. Went back to work. Got sick again end of July. This time she is positive and her husband and two small children. The baby has symptoms and that's what prompted testing. She was positive again despite 2 negative tests needed to go back to work. 🤷🏻♀️

I’m a little pissed at my sister and mom. My sister is recently engaged, and they threw a brunch for her bridesmaids (10) today. And there’s an engagement party for them happening in September with about 75 people on the guest list. Just...wtf. They live in a hot spot.
My family has basically been sheltering in place and very strict about being safe. Then my sister gets engaged and they’re all...Covid who? I’m the matron of honor, but thankfully don’t live there and told them both I won’t be participating in any wedding activities.

Last night was the due date to commit the kids to virtual/face to face school. Our answer has to be face to face since otherwise they would have to do all learning from 5-7 each night. I still cried when I submitted the form. It is shit or shittier for options. School is still set to start 8/24.

I think because there's so many other things that can cause fever in children that it's not a reliable indicator (and you shouldn't be sending kids with a fever anyway). I am not a medical professional, though, so I really have no idea.

I do understand why it would be helpful for kids, though, and for people not going to a hospital in general. Anyway just explaining my hospital’s reasoning for not doing them.

My MIL is having an outdoor GTG at her house in a couple weeks, a memorial for the year anniversary of FIL’s death. I am surprised she still wants to do it. It’s only a handful of people, outdoors, wearing masks. I feel like I can’t not go or have the kids not go. And especially not H. Everyone else attending has been staying at home, but I made it very clear to MIL that I hadn’t because of work. Also we will be flying up there to get there, so. I trust all the people going to not have been going out and partying or anything.
Things are getting better in my state, and my city is actually doing well, so I mostly feel okay going. I would be choosing not to go if it were pretty much anything else.

Could be why.

Our neighbor’s son had a fever yesterday and a cough. They called every doctor both them and us know, and confirmed that there is no rapid test available to people who aren’t front line workers in our area. Most tests take an average of 6 days for a result.
Which ok fine, but how are we supposed to start school in 4 weeks? As much as I want in person school for my kids, their plans seem impossible if we don’t have rapid tests available.
Also I think it’s ridiculous that we don’t have testing figured out 5 months into this.

If we can mass produce PPE and ventilators, surely Clorox can figure out a way to keep producing what they have always produced. I’m at a 12 over this
