I don't know if you guys remember when I mentioned my young coworker who is super into cruising, and she wasn't planning to stop... well, she's leaving for a 10 day international cruise this weekend. YIKES With who? Pretty much all cruise lines are not running here... I can't remember if she is Princess or Carnival, but it's Caribbean travel.

A cruise line opened here in summer, it was a total mess, everything that could go wrong did. The line shut down and everyone was like we're pushing back our reopening until November. But I'm always thinking of the companies operating in the Mediterranean andforgot about all the companies mainly operating in the Caribbean.

We are in N. TX. Only RTI/504/IEP kids are going back next week. Mid-Oct till its open to anyone. There is a small lottery for parents who both work outside the home. We don't qualify since H is now permanently remote. Two of mine are on 504s and the one at home is super self driven. I feel selfish that it is working out well for us. We will most likely keep everyone home during my contract as a Covid nurse, but until I start id like my two special needs kids to get some specialized testing and attention.
I've been swamped with keeping 3 kids on zoom, online testing and regular schoolwork. But overall 9/10 positive experience.

I’m so glad it’s working for you but one thing- Don’t just pull them from in person if the 504 in person is working so well. One of the biggest issues HCWs faced was lack of PPE. but honestly, now - as my hospital and my DHs both have adequate supply and we can use the n95s / PAPR as needed, I find it to be so much less risky than, say, a grocery store trip or indoor dining, or something, where people are with dick noses and masks or no masks, etc. So if you feel safe with your PPE, and going remote would be detrimental to your kids, I would totally keep them in person. DH and I only plan on pulling DS from in person if either of us get directly exposed to a + or pending CV+ person with inadequate PPE on because otherwise it’s safer than our masks we use for grocery store shopping.

The constant switching of decisions is so difficult on parents and children. I imagine many are looking forward to a return especially after last week's press conference. I am still sad about our districts decision even though it's probably safer. I also wonder how much they are spending to get that feedback. How is kinder going for your child? My son's school seems 2 weeks behind his friends. Today was the first full day and we skipped it to try forest school. Yeah I think the last minute of everything which makes sense. Which I get as they needed to see what the governor decided but it seems like they were polling teachers first and more than 60% would prefer to stay virtual through Fall Break. There is a board meeting on Friday that will decide which is only a few days before hybrid was supposed to start. Kinder is rough but my kid has other issues going on. But everyone else I've talked to seems to be struggling as well because it is a lot of work and more intense than I think we were all expecting.
