Ed Yong has released his latest scathing synthesis article about the COVID pandemic in the Atlantic. It’s 🔥 🔥 🔥.

Another must read article about the international impacts of COVID in areas where HUV/AIDS, malaria, and tb are also major issues.

NFL really should not try to go. Just pack it in and try again next year. With all that tackling and close contact? I give it 2 weeks into the season. Right? Like, if baseball where social distancing is definitely very doable can't figure it out, football is sure to be a damn disaster.

jaygee that is so fucked. I feel very lucky that my employer is so accommodating to working parents of young children. I return to work on Monday but everything I have been told is that things are going to be very flexible, and my boss emphasized that even if people start returning to the office, she would understand if I worked from home longer because of my small babies. It’d be cool if everyone could just be cool like that. Especially with how this is going to disproportionally effect working moms. I read the email from county admin that they don't anticipate any more people being asked to come back to work in buildings. Guess I'm just lucky. *laughsob* The good news is we finally got our plexi for our greeter table.

Not sure how many people here know about the annual Sturgis bike rally, but it's still on. What could go wrong?

I talked to my boss today (via Skype) when I went in to get all my equipment. She doesn’t anticipate that we’ll be back in the office until some time next year. Which means I definitely need to invest in a bigger desk...

MD and DMV folks, did you see that Gov. Hogan is stripping local jurisdictions of the ability to close private/parochial schools?
Edited for accuracy because I initially misunderstood the story.

MD and DMV folks, did you see that Gov. Hogan is stripping local jurisdictions of the ability to go entirely virtual for school without losing state funding. This is going to have an impact on MoCo if it isn’t resolved quickly. 🙁 Wait I thought that only applied to private schools

But stay vigilant so we lessen impact of hot spots. Protect the elderly. Children have very strong immune systems.

We have done really well in our response to the Virus. Look at all the countries doing bad now? Told Birx we are doing well. They should be talking about how great we are. So many ventilators and rapid fire testing

Doesn’t want people to be evicted because it’s China’s fault and they will have to go to a shelter with other people, but won’t say what he’s going to do about it. Nancy and Chuck want to bail out blue cities. Can’t have that
