i wanted to get up and run this morning but i snoozed my alarm and felt like i had the beginning of a cold. THANKFULLY i am feeling better already so assume it was just allergies. anyway, instead of running i got in a good lifting session. i thought to myself "hey you can just run tomorrow instead" but ummm ... tropical storm is coming starting this evening and staying throuhg wednesday. so, might only get in two runs this week instead of 3. it's not a bad idea to focus more on lifting so between that and the stationary bike i should manage just fine. i might do a heavy leg day today since i won't run tomorrow. we'll see. East coast tropical storm? if so, hopefully it's as uneventful for you as it was for Florida.

Happy Monday, all.
Today I did a full body strength workout via the Sweat app. It was a really good workout and I was sweating like crazy.
In fun news, I got an organization itch this weekend and decided to redo the way we had our basement laid out. We basically have three rooms: an office w/ built ins, a mid-sized room in the middle, and a large room in the back where we have our couches and TV. We were using the middle room as a playroom, but since the big room has the TV the kids almost never played in the playroom. I already had my tread and bike in the playroom area, so I decided to move the kids stuff to the back room and make a dedicated workout room! This makes so much more sense and I can't wait to get a TV and large mirror for my workout space.

I’m jumping back in here. I completely stopped working out for about 3 months of this pandemic. I woke up last weekend and charged my fit bit and decided the least I can do I drink water and walk. So I’m now on a 6 day streak of 10K steps and 64 oz of water. Those are literally my only two goals and I’m fine with that. If I can do those, I will feel better. I did a nice walk/run interval outside today for the first time in forever and it felt great. Hi, me! I've been out of the motivation threads for... months... but I'm back because I'm disappointed that I've let myself go this long and undone so much of my hard work from the last three years. Stupid COVID.

Good morning! Today is an active recovery day and I have 20 mins of yoga and 10 mins of abs planned. I wanted to get it done this morning, but it was my son’s first day back at day care and my daughter is going to an art camp, so I didn’t want to feel rushed.
I think I’m on Week 3 Day 3 of Emma Lovewell’s Crush your Core program. Has anyone else done it? I do think it’s making a difference!

I'm taking a light walk now and then will likely do a longer one later and some more mommastrong. H has been informed I'll be stealing his iPad for peloton stuff. Welcome to the Peloton cult

allthewaymae, first of all, that is my favorite movie of all time and I love your sn. I started that core program, but fell off track. Thanks for the reminder, I think I'll try to pick it up again. My core strength needs work.

This is random, but if any of you are avoiding carbs, I tried Enlightened ice cream last night. I haven't had anything very sweet in > 2years because I don't eat sugar and artificial sweeteners give me migraines. This has Stevia in it and is all natural. I fully expected it to both taste awful and to give me a migraine, but I was intrigued. I had a bit last night and I thought it tasted great, and no migraine.

I also get migraines from both sugar and artificial sweeteners. I used to use a protein powder with Stevia that didn’t seem to bother me so I’ll have to try this!

I stayed on track this weekend, which is always a win. DH and I started week 3 of LIIFT4 yesterday, so we’ll continue with that this week. We’re also moving this week, so food should be interesting. But I think we’re planned out well enough to stick to what’s here, and do minimal eating out.
August goals are to close my Apple Watch rings every day and finish the next 4ish weeks of LIIFT4. I’m excited to finish the whole program. I had gotten through 5 weeks before, but DH decided he wanted to do it too, so I started back at week 1 with him again. I don’t mind too much, except on leg days, which are terrible.

I'm so tired and creaky today. I just worked out regardless though and feel a bit better now. Did a quarter mile walk to warm up then ran a mile while watching Chelsea's speak up meditation. Then I did a 20 minute prenatal yoga that DD1 interrupted multiple times on me.
B- half a bag of grapes and a grande nitro cold brew (DD2 has OT during when I normally workout M/F from now on. I was not prepared to be a functioning human at normal morning hours again after being off since March) L- salmon Cesar salad D-?

I didn't set July goals, but I've been pretty consistent. I also weaned DS (he turns 2 this week) so that changes some things in my body. My plan for August: Bump up from 2 runs/week to 3. I think I can do it, just need to prioritize. Fill my (24 oz) water 4 times at least, and drink it. I think I can push myself to 5, but need to make sure I'm consistently hitting 4 first. I never want water in the evening, and then wake up parched in the morning. 3 days of first thing in the morning yoga/week. I need to get up and get moving before I know what else is happening. I was supposed to start today, but I slept for 20 extra minutes instead, which was much needed.

I did a bunch of weed whacking yesterday which didn't seem like much at the time, but I woke up today with sore arms, and of course today was an upper body day, it was a little rough, lol.
I actually am finding myself in a place where I enjoy being active (like doing weed whacking yesterday on a rest day) I hope I can keep it up!

My watch finally synced with Connect. That really felt never ending. The confidence meter on the training plan is all off now because I was only using Strava. Oh well. Today is a 45 min easy run and whatever strength I can squeeze in between work meetings.
My bike should arrive tomorrow -- anyone have suggestions for a good first Peloton ride for someone who typically hates spin?! I'd really like to be a convert.

I did Emma's 30 min Intervals & Arms live ride this morning + 5 min post-ride stretch with Sam.
My legs were toast afterwards. My arms will likely be crying tomorrow.

Did leg day and then a 20 minute run, I’m not sure why I punished myself like that. But afterwards I happily rewarded myself with a donut I found in the freezer while foraging for breakfast.

I made it for three miles outside this morning and I was joined by MH, which never happens, so it was extra nice. Hot though.

I have had a bad habit of taking an hour nap during my lunch break while working from home. It always backfires though and I feel crummy after.
Today I decided to do a 20min Peloton walk on the treadmill instead and it made such a huge difference. It was also a good workout, lots of incline and pushes. I hope to make this more of a habit.

My knee has been bothering me again. I think I need to start wearing something when I work out. It is always the side of my right knee that I am assuming rubs. Inside or outside of the knee? I find foam rolling the IT band helps a lot with knee issues. (Outside of the leg from hip to knee)

We're trying to build our at-home equipment and have some adjustable dumbbell bars/handles on the way, but in the meantime, I'm just using the round weights that will go on said bars, and it's killer on my forearms!
But I did the 30 minute full body with weights today at lunch... day 10/60.

I didn't meet my July goals (mostly to drop 4lbs and go into the next weight decade down) but I did have a good month for movement and pretty good for eating. My problem is that I use the weekends as my "treat myself" days and indulge in the foods (and alcohols) that I don't have during the week. So really, I'm just gaining and losing the same few lbs. I had gotten really close to the next weight decade and then proceeded to eat pretty much only carbs on sunday.
I did however take up running. I HATE running. We did a virtual Spartan Sprint a couple of Saturdays ago and I decided it wasn't too terrible; so I made it a goal to run/walk every day. I made it a week and now I'm into the 2nd week. We're surrounded by BIG hills, so I don't think I'll ever be able to run 5k straight through, but I am making progress.
Goal for this month: Celebrate non-scale victories 30 minutes of dedicated movement for 25 days this month (if not more)

Carefully and not all the time, but sometimes it helps! The band is supposed to be tight. It's literally how it functions. You can't walk/stand if it is loose.

Today was good. Got up early and did a 20 minute HIIT run before work and then went for a walk during my lunch break. Food should be just fine.
B- overnight oats with protein powder, strawberries, and peanut butter L- steak, rice, veggies S- watermelon and string cheese D- portabello chicken with mashed potatoes
