When you delete your posts all we can see is what is quoted. So that’s the you we are going to judge here. If you would like us to “see” something different, use your words to let us know. If you don’t care, well there’s that option too. But it will be commented on.

I’ve seen all I need to. The willful ignorance and racist approach you took in that thread is as far as I want to get with you. Have a blessed day.

@pipamdme also doesn’t support BLM and says other problematic stuff. She’s deleted her posts, but they’re still quoted on the CD 2020 thread. I deleted my posts in the CD board for reasons that are no one's business but my own. The quoted posts were only a small portion of the whole conversations so y'all that want to harass/make fun of me for the parts that were quoted can __________ fill in the blank however you chose. I said I'm a full time parent because sah/work is a touchy topic for me. Full time parent seemed the neutral answer. We’ve had generally pleasant interactions and I’ve never in our interactions seen a reason to go into your post history before. But the quoted posts show problematic thinking and the deleting repeatedly (I know this isn’t the first time you’ve done that) shows that you know that it would be interpreted so. I hope that instead of remaining defensive and thinking you’re being harassed that you take some time to sit with this and reflect why people would get up in arms about it. My hope is that this is a moment of growth for you.

If it’s a touchy subject for you, you should know that it’s not a neutral answer. “Its complicated” “‘not clear what my work situation will be” “tbd” “unclear but I’ll be the primary education coordinating” How much time you spend parenting has nothing to do with the question asked. And FFS, you said some, at best, ignorant shit in that thread. Own it, educate yourself and do better. It is our business when some of us are trying to make our society a little more equitable and thought processes like yours stand in the way of that. Yes, Joseph!

She does have a constitutional right to post here. And I think under some interpretations we have a constitutional obligation to agree. Idk. Probs something about original intent and comma placement. Or maybe that’s a different amendment. Proboards is a private company. No she doesn’t have a constitutional right to post here. None of us do.

Also the Sonlight curriculum (which I wasn’t familiar with before recently) espouses some insane views of slavery like that most enslavers were people who were good to those they owned. I was shocked by some of the quotes I read and I wish I could find the post that discussed it. Unfortunately Sonlight does a good job of flooding google with positive blog posts about it.

It’s just really upsetting and violating when someone disagrees with you on the internet. I can’t really speak further on the matter until my civil rights attorney has been briefed. Can’t delete this post cuz I already quoted it. BOOM.

You’ll generally see CEO of The Smith Family on their job description line on SM. And look, I think SAH parents get shit too. They do. But you speak to your experience. You don’t slam other parents.

Asia Citro is an author who has a lot of good ECE science experiments but it’s disjointed. My kids have enjoyed doing REAL Science Odyssey’s Life science book, and it’s 25% off starting tomorrow. I like that it doesn’t take a lot of prep work for me and was pretty active and engaging for the boys.

I thought she worked retail in a supermarket. If that was taken away because of Covid or something else I could see being forced into being a SAH to bring on feelings of resentment or guilt. Again, I just done get the dig and whether it was her own issue projected onto others. Now as for the BLM and Confederate statue shit, I'm not going to touch that with a 90 foot pole because it's beyond fucked and hurtful.

Also, Dr. Cox, remember that a lot of science is just how life works. At the kindergarten level, you really could just work it into daily life by observing and explaining, like on nature walks or while cooking or whatever. A couple of days ago, we got into the difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions when we were cleaning up a stain on pavement and tried different methods. But I’m kind of a curriculum junkie so I like having it formalized. Just throwing out that it’s possible to do a good job without spending money on a text if you’re conscious about it. I’ve been trying to be aware of the fact that this isn’t a long term investment for most people 🙂

So is this resentment at having to answer “working?” Does it truly matter why I refuse to say SAH or work? Of course not, but it does speak to an overall picture of white woman fragility. You find the SAH or work discussion so sensitive you refuse to acknowledge it and demand exception and yet you said Black people wanting the destruction of shrines to their ancestors’ enslavers is OTT. I’m not trying to be mean or pile on but eeesh.
