Ugh sarenu, so sorry. Is she symptomatic? No idea, I'm not terribly close to her (shes 8 years older than me and we are not close). She sent me a brief message just to let me know. Would it be weird to send a care box? Cards from the kids, books to read, tea (she likes tea more than coffee), some chocolate?

We have a group of moms complaining about the quality of learning online.... I'm so over it. I’ve read about parents disappointed that the curriculum wasn’t moving fast enough (it wasn’t learning-dense enough?) in the FIRST WEEK. Like. Hold yourself together. Oh and it's not like we did a ton of work last spring and have no idea what the kids retained from the last year.

I see you’ve been visiting my towns Facebook. People are ridiculous. I’m glad most were not in agreement. And plus one to the whole “yea teachers are in this group too!” thing. So dense.

Oh man I just got a very long “this week in second grade” email. So many things. So confusing. So many variables.
I’m tired. It’s week 2.

Also got an email from the principal which included FOURTEEN tips for virtual learning. 13. Ask that family members respect your learning space. No, I mean really. Of course. The concept is just amusing to me. I am trying to keep H's learning space accessible to him but inaccessible by his toddler and preschool sisters. Also they must've had bad experience with background people because there were multiple mentions of "TURN THE COMPUTER TO HAVE A WALL BEHIND IT! And TELL YOUR FAMILY THEY'RE ON A CHAT" But like, hokay. H will tell his 2yo sister to please respect his learning space.

Both kids are off at the school building today! Of course, we forgot their iPads. Oops. Luckily, both teachers said they'd be fine for today. How is it that there is always something that is forgotten??

remote learning when all the instructions are written but your child cannot read is... terrible.

remote learning when all the instructions are written but your child cannot read is... terrible. That's crazy. All of A's assignments on SeeSaw have audio instructions to go with the written. It baffles me that some schools aren't thinking through all of this.

M’s school has decided to remain fully virtual through at least mid-January. I fully expected this, but J is disappointed. I think with our numbers the way they are, it makes sense. Boy am I sick of it, though. We’re in week 9.
