danib I used cranial for myself previously and I loved it so that’s really good to know! I wonder if his cheeks and jaw are really tight too... thanks for the input, glad it helped your DS so much and hopefully it will mine too! DS2 saw an OT, a chiropractor, lactation specialist and a cranial therapist before and after the ENT visit. Honestly it was all at the same time so idk what all did the trick. That’s awesome something worked and maybe it was a combo of all of those things?! I have now booked an appointment now with a lactation consultant and a chiropractor too so between ent and those two things we’re re off to a good start but I am not opposed to doing cranial either. I’ll see how these appointments go and see what they recommend but I feel hopeful. I really appreciate everyone’s experiences and feedback, thank you 😊

Congrats on the new ride danib! Weeks- 2 wks yesterday! The Good - I'm just like, so in love with this tiny baby lol. He doesn't mind his swing, so I can set him down and actually get stuff done around the house or just have a baby break! He's starting to have more/longer periods of wakefulness, so that's fun! The Bad - he has such a bad latch, it hurts so much everytime I nurse. 😭 I know he also has a lip tie. I'm pretty sure his bad latch is making him super gassy too. He gets all squirmy and grunty and it's clear he's so uncomfortable and it makes me sad for him. All of that *almost* makes me want to stop breastfeeding. But I'm looking into lactation consultants but they're so stinking expensive around here! Milestones/Appointments - we've moved up to size 1 diapers! Lol that feels like a milestone. Their still a little big on him but the newborn size was too tight. 2 week pedi follow up next week (a little late, my bad... I forgot to call 🤷♀️). TTMA pacifiers. Do your babies use them? DS1 never took to them, which I was fine with. But DS2 seems to have found his thumb. Having worked in the dental field for close to 15 years, I have seen the damage thumb sucking can do so I'm very opposed to it lol. I bought some paci's to try instead and he seems to like them but I've heard horror stories about trying to break the paci habit too. It feels like a lose-lose to me. Tell me the good, bad and ugly about your pacifier experience!? Pic of my Incredi-baby!

twopeas does your hospital have a free lactation consultant you can call? Or will your insurance cover it?. Regarding the paci: my theory has always been “you can take away a paci, but you can’t take away a thumb” so I’m fine with them. I will say though that I’ve never really had to break a kid from a paci, dd1 took one but daycare stopped giving it to her so she stopped taking it around 9 months and DD2 refused to take one. V is using a paci and I’m glad because it will help dh when I’m back at work and he has to put her to bed. Weaning from the paci is a future me problem.

2 things: 1. I’m sick of wearing a bra 24/7. I leak so bad that I don’t want to take it off for a long period of time. I’m taking a break from it right now for a while with a burp cloth under my nips just in case.
2. I think V might have silent reflux. I hear her spit up and then swallow it. She arches her back sometimes after eating and fusses if she’s not upright. She also wakes up pretty much immediately after I lay her down most times, which is super frustrating.

twopeas if it’s an issue of the lip tie your pedi may be able to just clip it quickly at your two week appointment. My DS1’s tongue tie was clipped at an early appt. he didn’t even cry and immediately I had no BFing pain. We’re pacifier people. No issue getting rid of it when the kids are 3. We like nuk latex pacifiers - apparently latex is more like a nipple He’s so cute! We were the incredibles a couple Halloweens ago because our kids are girl, boy, boy like the movie.

twopeas All 3 of my older kids have taken pacis but we’ve taken them away around 9 months. We try to use them only when absolutely needed. Between 6-9 months we start weaning from it and only using for bedtime/nap time. We also start pushing a lovey at that time as well to replace the paci as a sleep cue. My “pre-mom” self was very anti paci but they are definitely a lifesaver.

twopeas DS1 had a pacifier. We didn't use it all of the time, just when he was fussy. After around 9 months I reduced it to just car rides and naps. Then has it gone by 1 year. dS2 completely refused to take one, like it pisses him off worse if you tried to put it in his mouth. And this guy is indifferent to them so I stopped trying.

I used to notice people (including DH) would just put one in DS1s mouth even when he wasn't fussing, which drove me nuts because why get him used to having it in his mouth 24/7????? So I kept them put away so they would be "out of sight" of the adults.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that we only have pacis in the crib after the tiny baby stage. They’re only for sleep. It’s definitely a pet peeve of mine to see a two year old out during the day with the pacifier hanging out of their mouth. Unless you’re like in a plane or other strange circumstance.

DS1 never took a paci. DS2 would take one until 5 months but after we had his tongue tie clipped, he refused to take it again. I have no idea why. We’ve tried one with DD and she takes it but she doesn’t seem to need one to sooth either so I’m not really going to offer it much. If it’s not needed I don’t see why I should start a habit to break later.
