Which is so crazy to me because I've felt like we've been in a holding pattern since March, so it should still be March. Right? Time means nothing.

Yeah I feel like March lasted 52 years and then april-June went by in the blink of an eye! Part of me is happy this year is half over. It’s been such a shit show.

I need the summer to last as long as possible because I am not ready to home school again.

We were shut down for January too with the snow. So like, it was Christmas, then lock down, then February, then 4 month long quarantine. By far the most confusing year ever - like it's been both 1000 years yet only 5 weeks long.

I need the summer to last as long as possible because I am not ready to home school again. I feel this! Ugh We're trying to do "Summer Camp" and this week's theme is Dr. Seuss, we haven't had a zoom class since the end of May and L could not sit through it at all. We did one today, and he only paid attention to the story. If this is what the fall will look like every day or once a week, L isn't going to learn anything this coming year. There was an article posted in the Politics Covid thread for July about how this situation is taking the worst toll on parents and it's like you can have kids or you can work. It's obviously going to affect women more than men, and single parents just seem screwed in all this. NY TimesWWN16D? (Racist In-laws drama Cont'd) {Spoiler}So DH has been home for 2 weeks. He didn't want to engage his parents his first week home (totally understandable) but by his second week, I asked if we're just going to ignore this for a few months? He doesn't think his mom will follow through with the Zoom conversation that she asked to do, so I asked then why he was avoiding telling them he's home? He never answered, he contacted her/them last week, she asked about quarantining and that's it. Should he ask about the Zoom convo she suggested, or should we wait and see if she'll follow through and do it? He's only home for 2 more weeks maybe 3 if they move the ship to Spain. Then gone for 2ish months again. What would you do? Initiate the zoom call or wait for her/them to do it? Caveat: They seem to wait for others to do things. They don't call us, we have to call them. Which is why we rarely talk to them, I'm wrangling a 3 year old but yeah you wait for me to call you. So they may never set this up, and when brought up later would blame us for not following through because "the phone works both ways!"

Cheshie6 This is just my opinion, but from what you've told us about your in laws, I don't believe they'll be initiating a zoom call. It will be up to you & B to do so. My parents NEVER call me or my sister. They say they don't know when it is a good time to talk and we're probably busy, etc. Whatever. My mother just likes to play the woe is me card.

My head boss just came into my office and said, "This is going to be exactly like the academy awards." Then he gave me my certificate for being here 15 years and walked out. It's not even framed.
