Hump day! I met people on the bike and got Cody’s recent 30min ride in and met my output goal (300 in 30min is my goal when I want a solid moderate to hard effort) and my tank and bra were soaked. I love that feeling.
I’ve been off on strength a few weeks bc if a pinched shoulder/arm and did a 15min body weight class Monday and I’m sore from it. But I may try for a 20min one today (body weight and then pickup weights for lower body).
I have no idea what my weight is bc my scale broke and I never replaced it lol

Day 53 today. I know that I am supposed to be getting stronger and doing harder moves since I am finishing the program, but man some of her moves are just wow. I will never be able to do them

I did not skip Peleton today either.
I knocked out RK's Advanced HIIT run which was basically 20 min of sprint, recover, sprint, recover. I got in the 9s for the sprint portions and was in the mid-12s for my average pace, so I was pretty happy about that, especially as it was closing in on 80 degrees by the time I got out there.
I did the pre and post warm up stretches with Selena and can't recommend doing these stretches enough.

I haven’t checked lately. Still doing MM workouts. My IPhones microphone broke which means my headphones won’t work either, I do not live that AirPod life, so I’m lacking that extra motivation to do an outdoor run.
I did go for a bike ride a few days ago that had hills, my neighbor in his 60’s suggested the route and lol at it being easy. He is in great shape if he does that because the hills were not tiny. At one point I had to walk my bike up the last bit of a hill. The next hill I saw I promptly turned my bike around and gave up, the ended up riding just under 10 km. It has me seriously contemplating upgrading my Sunny and getting a Peloton on a payment plan since I can’t find any of the good cheaper bikes in stock.

I managed a 20 min Pop ride of Cody’s from last week, which isn’t as much as I wanted, but better than skipping. I have been so tired and hungry today, and I’m sure it’s because I started my period yesterday, but that didn’t help my motivation.

I just finished a 30 minute intervals and arms and then 30 minute 2000s ride with Boo. Apparently the second one was my 250th ride! So that’s cool. I didn’t go super hard on either one, just had fun. But my 5 lb weights were feeling difficult on the 8 minute long arm section. 😰

I just got back home yesterday after 2 weeks with family. Work picked up so between that and all the things we had to do, I had almost zero time to check in. I still managed to work out decently my first week there but last week just blew up in my face and I someone only managed once. Eating also wasn’t great and I drank more than normal...but somehow today I was down 2 lbs from my lowest weight thus far (and 3.5 lbs from when I left). Soooooo confusing.
Anyways it’s great to be home and with my stuff! I got back on the peloton today and I missed it so much!! Clearly 2 weeks was not great for me though because my heart rate was way up for what is normally a moderate effort for me. So yikes.
Also I’ve been waiting about 6 weeks for weights to come and they were supposed to be here today. But they got delayed (as everything has lately), so they should hopefully be here tomorrow.
Hope everyone has been doing great and everyone who wasn’t feeling well (illness or injury related) is on the mend!

I managed to cancel my last meeting and got my second ride in so that’s 10k of biking today. It’s so hot (for here) but the second ride was still pleasant, I just wish I could look at the stats for it on garmin, it synced my morning ride ok 😞

This week has been so packed between work, meetings, and trainings. Today I squeezed in 20 minutes of running on the track between the time my students left and a virtual training. Tomorrow I need to get back on my bike, it's been days.
My weight is holding steady. I've lost about 3 lbs this month, which I feel good about. I'm so close to a new decade, but I haven't been as strict with my weight loss efforts and have been exercising less than I was in the spring, so I'm just happy to be maintaining.

Hi! I have some catching up to do!
I did a double cardio day today and it was so fun! My second class there were 4 of us, and they were all my friends so that was awesome. And bragging ahead: I always sucked at slider discs. Never had the core strength to use them. Haven’t used them since before quarantine, so it’s been a while. Today we were doing power planks with 4 mountain climbers and the trainer tossed me some sliders and I did the damn thing!!

20 minute hip hop ride with Kendall 30 minute HIIT ride with Ben 10 minute core strength with Robin
Kendall’s music was good but she was kind of flat compared to her usual self. Ben’s ride was awesome. He laid out 4 sets of 5 intervals and I was able to go a little harder each set. I love that kind of ride.

Morning all. I did Becs' 30 minute recovery run this morning. Although my H stupidly suggested that I should take the girls in the stroller if I was mostly going to walk. Then they lost their collective minds wanting to go for a stroller run. My dude, I am way too fucking pregnant to push the 100+ pound double BOB. So I did her run pushing both kids and I treated it like a fartlek run instead. Picked up 2.6 miles and now my legs and hips are not happy. Yoga on deck to get some stretching in before my shower in a couple minutes here. Woof.
Food is a big questions mark since I have a couple hours of curriculum writing to do then DD2 has OT this afternoon. Eggs and sausage for breakfast, left over salad and chicken parmesan for lunch, and I'm thinking a fancy grilled cheese with a bunch of different cheeses and avocado for dinner.

Happy Friday Eve!
I knocked out Robin's 20 min Bodyweight Strength (from 7/28) + Anna's 5 min Standing Yoga (from 7/16) and have 1 day left to go for Week 3 of Pelethon. I mean, I will likely hit all 7 as I'm tending to do active recovery (walk, yoga, stretch) vs no workout at all these days, but it's nice to have almost 5 days in.

cnf, 2+ miles with the bob double stroller is no joke. You are an inspiration! I haven’t worked out since Saturday so I’ve sort of been avoiding here. It was a combination of giving my foot a break and then just busy at work. I had promised myself that I would work out yesterday after the kids got to bed, but I had a zoning hearing that went until 9:30 and so I didn’t get home until 10 and had a bunch of work piled up that I needed to get done before this morning. I made my H promise to remind me to work out tonight before bed because I’m afraid I’m veering toward the “nothing” part of my “all or nothing” personality.

My new foam roller arrived last night, so this morning I did three of Hannah's foam rolling classes via the Peloton app. Man, that hurts so good. I need to incorporate those classes in to my weekly routine for sure.
As far as actual workouts, I am going to take some kind of walking class during my lunch on the treadmill. I have 3 of 5 days done for this week's Pelothon challenge!

I got up, ate my preworkout toast, and went back to bed. On a DQ day. Yeah, I'm flogging myself. I'll do the workout tomorrow instead, but I hate the days I eat more than I should.
My bike made it back in my state this morning, so hopefully it will get delivered soon.

I would, except I rested on Tuesday and only had one day of a workout before "needing" rest again. Unusual for me. I hear you, though.

That actually does raise an interesting question, of which I'm interested in other perspectives. How do you tell, within yourself, when you truly need rest and when you are just not doing what you need to?

How do you tell, within yourself, when you truly need rest and when you are just not doing what you need to? For me, it’s kind of a combo of knowing how much I’ve done over the course of a week, how I’m feeling, emotional stress, and desire. I want to want to work out, and I love doing it. I want that to last my whole life, and for me part of that is knowing when I need a day or two off, and knowing that it’s not the end of the world. I’ll be back at it again, and I never want to resent working out. I try to watch my food intake more on those days, but I’m not OTT about it because sometimes you just need a damn break, you know? I’m also not trying to do anything other than maintain my weight and be healthy, so that helps with the pressure.

I’m also not trying to do anything other than maintain my weight and be healthy, so that helps with the pressure. I have the same sentiment. For me, my food/diet is for weight loss and exercise is for mental health. After years of slogging through workouts I hated, I finally realized that there is activity I truly love and look forward to (spinning and weightlifting mostly). I never force myself to do things I don't like anymore. It is just not worth it. I also don't workout so that I can eat more, I consider the two to be two completely separate things. With that regard, I don't punish myself by eating less on days I don't work out. We are all in this life for the long-haul, so one day off doesn't matter one bit in the long run. However, never taking a day off can lead to injury, burn out, exhaustion, and I want to avoid that at all costs.
