Hey! I just remembered to check this board. So I grew up as a JW and my husband was raised Buddhist. He explored Christian religions but eventually realized he identified with Confucius’s teachings and Daoism. For a long time I wanted nothing to do with religion. And consider myself atheist. However I’m starting to look into other religions and beliefs. We actually planned to find a temple before the pandemic. I don’t ever want to be part of organized religion again but I want my kids to have that option if they choose.

Anyone checked out unitarian universalism? I read a bunch about it during an insomnia bout, and found it nearly on point with my values! I haven't dug deeper into the negatives yet. @icedtea overboard

So far I'm very intrigued, but the church here is super lacking in diversity so I put it off and then covid. But I saw last year that they were very active in blm, including helping with supplies. So I want to check it out when I can. keep me posted! The closest congregation to me is an hour away, but I would be interested in checking it out and going 1-2 a month. I'm very interested in their activism, too! This was really good urbigenous.net/library/why_not_unitarian.html

Not only due to covid, but my mom would cut me off completely if I did. I don’t feel a strong pull to anything spiritual right now, but that may change.

I hear that..it's been probably 30 years since I've been a part of one. I would probably feel super weird, but hopefully not. Like I said it's not even been 24 hours since I discovered this, but it was neat to see there is a niche for me!!
