I made it to 10cm at 3am and pushed off and on until 8am ๐คช. Annnd thatโs why they want to induce me early this time. I have already told my doctor I doubt any other doctor would have let me go that long. With my second baby, I was dilated to 10cm by about 4:30am... pushed for 3+ hours, took a break, then pushed for about 1.5 more hours. All said and done, I was dilated to 10cm for about 10 hours before he was born at almost 3:00pm. ๐ณ Do not recommend. This was one of the factors in my PP hemorrhage later that evening. My next baby was out in 3 half-hearted pushes. ๐คทโโ๏ธ I stalled out at a 4 after going 24 hours without the epidural. Stories like this give me hope for #2. And Iโm getting the epidural ASAP.

Napping through transition and waking up when itโs time to push is glorious. The best $185 I have ever spent.

I technically pushed for 3 hours with my first (induced/epidural), but it was kind of "oh you're at a ten and can try pushing if you want." I didn't ever get an urge to push, so I think that's why it took so long.
My second (natural) transition went super fast and she was coming whether I wanted her to or not. She too was only three pushes (plus them twisting her out when her shoulder got stuck.)

I'm considering asking for an epidural this time instead of a spinal because the spinal had started wearing off during my c section, but it has me nervous because I feel like things can go more wrong with the catheter being inside your spine?? Also the taking longer to wear off may be a not great thing because I'm used to getting out of bed around dinner time after baby's out.

Do they give one more than the other when its a RCS? Or does it just depend on the doctor/hospital? I had epidural last time for my induction which ended in CS.

I think if you don't already have an epi when you go in for a CS or for a planned CS they tend to go spinal. If you labor with an epi they just roll with that. I had a spinal for both my sections. My first was an emergency and I was mad as hell I didn't have an epidural since I was like 8+ cm and in very painful, active labor when I went in. My second I was in active labor too but I had managed without pain meds up to the 7 or 8cm I was when I went back.

fem Iโm pretty sure everyone here is at the very least a STM. My oldest was definitely a high needs baby... and he continues to be my most challenging kid to parent, even at 5yo. Hopefully everyone here gets super chill babies this time! Same for my 6yo. Especially the sleep. She currently sleeps less than DH and I. She is still feisty and very spirited. I blame her red hair.๐ (My second is blonde). ETA: Example- she mooned her entire K class this year because she thought it would be funny.

My third has been high needs as a baby, but my oldest has been challenging since toddler years. My middle is the easiest but he is so very busy. I'm just tired, I tell ya.

Both my kids have actually been really easy. My 4.5 year old has been testing out her attitude a lot the last few months, but otherwise they're both pretty damn good. I'm expecting this one to be my wild child.

Yeah...DS basically had to have me holding him for the first 4-6 months of his life. Even if he was asleep and I transferred him to H he lost it. Car rides to my moms house (30 min) were awful the first few months. And he only took a bottle for daycare.
He had a tongue and lip tie and looking back he was probably just hungry. After we had it corrected he did a lot better.
He woke up at least once through the night until 15 mo and since has pretty much STTN though. And until pandemic he didnโt mind dc drop off. He still has stranger danger and wonโt go to anyone but us and his teachers. And my mom keeps saying we need to bring him to her so he can get use to her again, but she hasnโt been to our house in forever so ๐คทโโ๏ธ

rooskie, my DS3 was tongue tied and it caused sooo many issues. We got it revised with scissors at 3 months and it grew back so we had a second revision with laser at 6 months that mostly stuck, his tongue grew back a little bit because he fought the exercises too much. If DD is tongue tied at birth and has any issues I'm going to get it laser revised before 2 months. Even if we need to pay out of pocket. I fought with insurance to get the second one covered which is why it took so long.

We already talked to the dentist who did it (DS goes to him) and he said to call ASAP if we see it again that he does it at 1 week if needed. DS left blisters and bruises on me nursing and I was about to throw in the towel. I think it had a huge effect on my supply since he wasnโt getting full feedings. So if we have it again Iโm probably having it corrected in the first two weeks.

DS3 didn't show issues until about 6 weeks and then it took me a Facebook post from a friend to realize that his issues were tie related and he was a week from 3 months then and at 3 months exactly we got the scissor revision done. I'm hopeful I'll be able to recognize issues before that point with DD. I didn't breastfeed past 6ish weeks with him, and it was mostly hand expressing at that point.

My doctor saw the damage at my 6wk pp appointment and sent me down to lactation in the hospital. They said they were 75% sure that is what was going on and gave me a referral. I plan on having notes in my registration for this one to have lactation come check. Fun fact, B is one of two kiddos pictured on the dentists Facebook for the laser procedure, so we have gotten to play Q&A for tons of friends over the last 2 years.

I'm really starting to get nervous for my repeat scan on Monday. I hope she's not as curled up and they can get good pictures of her face.

beenthere remind me, was there anything concerning in the last scan or are you just having general nerves?

They couldn't see her lips very well, and couldn't get measurements of her spine because she was curled up. I'm reading into the curled up thing though because she was also really curled up at her 12 week scan. :/

Stay away from Dr. Google (I'm not great at my own advice) and I hope the time flies by until your appointment! Fingers crossed you just have a snuggly little girl in there.

I definitely already googled. And anything it could have been would have come up on our genetic testing, so that was comforting.
